Personally, I like my avatar. I don't remember where I got it (stolen from some site or another ;) ) but it suits my personality well. Good question, Mausey. As I said, I "lifted" the avatar from someplace (my memory is shot, so I have no idea where :D ) and so have no idea. My guess is that it's the result of someone with Photoshop, and too much time on their hands. I however, like my bunny. Now I don't have to sign my posts with:

Well, I've been told mine is a bit blurry... But the original photograph is blurry, too. It was poor quality film. :banghead: I like the photo myself, it's me and my brother on the beach. I think the blurriness adds to the nostalgic effect, myself. :roll:

I have this cute avatar~ you've seen her~ she's right there
<----- I want to add little bits of color to her face and neck to look like I've painted her face~ I figured out how to zoom in on the pic and add the design.. litterly one pixle at a time... had fun putting in all my colors and making sure that I didnt over stroke an existing color that was needed for the design~
shrunk the view~ looked really good...

couldnt load it to here,, cause it's a bipmap-ish thingy and it was suggested to me to change it to a gif~ and bring it in that way~....

the 'save as' portion of paint let's me change the art to preselected file marks.... and there is only one for gif~ and when I use it. a message pops up to tell me that changing to gif is going to change some of the colors.. and if I accept, then it turns most of the fleshtone white and grey and when I try to change the color to re-color it to fleshtone, I get wierd funky greyish colors... soooooooo apparently I am not susposed to do this from an existing bit of art work~

so now that im done ranting I'm going to go and load one change that I made that I liked and then while you are grading that one.. I'll go and try to Paint an origional~ wish me luck~ sorry, not able to load it yet~ I have to resize it~ I'll be back when my puter let's me~

The name...I tagged it myself using Paint Shop Pro. I've been an av artist for years online. Used to 'live' in the old VP realms on Excite (before they sold out).

If anyone wants to use this graphic, they have my permission to right click it and save to disk. I got it from a freebie site and it was meant as a chicken graphic. I breed fancy chickens, among other hobbies.

I bet with a little tweaking by a talent like BZ (or another of our gifted graphic artists) it could easily become a hatching dragonette!

The little creatures are susuwatari. They are enchanted balls of soot that help heat the bath water by carrying coal to the boiler in the movie Spirited Away. They befriend the heroine of the story. Their voices are squeeky noises and they're really sweet. Their food is little colorful bits of candy. (Yummy!)

I just noticed the pic is really dark on my LCD monitor. It was fine on my flat screen at work. I'll lighten it up on Monday.

Good question, Mausey. As I said, I "lifted" the avatar from someplace (my memory is shot, so I have no idea where :D ) and so have no idea. My guess is that it's the result of someone with Photoshop, and too much time on their hands. I however, like my bunny. Now I don't have to sign my posts with:

I like it and I am a little disturbed by it too. As someone else said - it is grotesque - and cute in a way. I don't plan to keep it. I like change and I used to change my Avatar in the chat room sometimes several times in an evening. I am going to rotate my Avatars as the mood or the season suits me.

Thank you for assuming I could have created it. I wish I could take credit for creating/animating it, but it came that way.

in the orginal design (not color inverted like it is now~) if you look carefully in the curles you will find snake heads~ I like snakes and she has a quirky smile so I kept it.. my frustration was in trying to add color to her face and neck to look as if I'd painted it.... I'll bring out the first one so you can see it better~

I've changed my avatar to a picture of my pet parrot (he's called Odin), and I would like to get a second opinion on it. I know it could have been a bit clearer but it was difficult to get the right size and at the same time keep the sharpness. I thought about finding an avatar that looked a bit like the one I used on the old forum - the vatar that looked like the face of a white kat (or was it a baby seal?).

I like Seer's avatar :good: , but I think it could be even better if it had a glow inside the crystalball. Otherwise it's :ok: .

It's not bad. Composition is good. Color is good. A hair out of focus, but not enough that I would suggest immediately replacing it. Were you wanting to show just the head of the bird? Or more of the body?
