For those familiar with Stargate..

Well, I'm currently playing with this character concept for a story or one shot that I have been thinking about for some time. The problem is though, that I'm having some difficulties with reasons for this character to be where the story is set.

So, if you might have any ideas...

How to have an original asgard character be stationed at SGC, if only temporary, possibly accompanying a team on some missions?

The character would be fairly ordinary, nothing such as a fleet commander.

why cant the Asgard be sent there to help 'teach' them something or to learn how to fight 'primitively'

Maybe the Asgard had learned that they actually posses a very degraded form of human DNA and want to research and get samples for there cloning projects. (I remember one episode mentioned that the Asgard DNA was beginning to degrade and wanted to try to reinstate some good DNA to make better clones for their consciences (Spelled wrong I know can never remember how to spell that.)

There is an Asgard stationed on the Promethius, (and that other ship who's name I can't think of), to operate such things as the Asgard transporter and to oversee certain of the Asgard technology the Earth people are using.

Perhaps you can use a similar situation or reason?
