Weyr Prefrence

If you were a dragon rider or support person which weyr would you want to live in and why? Make your choice on the weyr it's self, not the time period or leadership. I would pick Ista because I hate cold weather and I love the ocean. (I always picture Ista as being like the Hawian Isle of Kauai.) For me Telgar or High Reaches would be the worst.

I completely agree! Mind you, I could be very happy living at Southern too ;) I don't mind a bit of sand and not living in a cave :ok:

Assuming that fandom Weyrs don't count, my first choice is Telgar out of the purely personal reason that when I created my first PC that is where J'yce Impressed. In a post-9th Pass Pern, I might be more inclined to pick Honshu Weyrhold for it's history and layout.

Also assuming rpg weyrs don't count, I would say Benden. If rpg weyrs are allowed....i would pick either..........my weyr(soon to be announced) or FarNorth. Ya gotta like FarNorth.

High Reaches for the snow, mountains and scenery. I love snuggling up under a blanket next to a fire while looking outside at a snowy landscape. And I could go Between to a warm beach (I can't live without the ocean!) or tropical forest with any free time if I ever tired of it and needed to bake my bones. Or any time I needed to wash my dragon in the winter :eek:

I'm not really sure... Probably Fort, for the seasons, or somewhere down south.

Hm...Fort, I think...anything else is too far north or has too much water involved! And Igen would be way too hot. <G> Besides, I do like seasons, except winter. ;)

Southern, it's the closest to the climate in which I live. And quck access to the beach!

O, definitely something warm and as close to knowledge as possible... Fort is too cold, so either Southern Boll (close enough to harper Hall) but a Southern Weyr is most likely :)

I think Benden as well. I enjoy the changing seasons and I'm sure if it got too cold I could talk a rider into a trip to the beach. :D

Benden or Telgar. After all, were I a dragonrider, I could always go between to the beach or somewhere else, provided we weren't flying Fall.

Hmmm - of the Northern Weyrs I'd choose Fort. It has the most "conveniences" to it (it was built when they still had some technology).

Of the Southern Weyrs I'd go for F'lessan's caves.

Hmm... Telgar seems most like where I am now. Way up north, in the middle of a big ol' land mass. So Telgar is definitely out! I've had enough of -40C days, I don't need it in my fantasies, too!

Ista would be too hot, Igen would be too dry. (Picky, picky!) I'd probably enjoy Fort. It seems south enough and close enough to the ocean to have a stable, pleasant climate. High Reaches would be nice, too, for its mountain view.

That would be a tough choice for me. I would love the seasons at Benden but, Southern Weyr holds a definate facination for me. Maybe be at Benden and vacation at Southern. That would be the best of both.
