Nope.

It'd go on the shelf and stay there till it mouldered away

Ah - I saw that earlier this week.

Very, very cool. But if it had chocolate in it, I'd certainly still eat it.

I have no idea what Discworld is, but that is a spectacular cake. Well, it seems more icing than cake. That's art.

Wow. That's just way too much effort for a cake. Call me lazy (I am), but even a wedding couldn't call forth the patience to make such a thing.

it looked more like a sculpture than an cake, I think i would cry if it was cut into. Gotta wonder though, what it tastes like!!

Do you think that map is a little like Pern?

Fantastic cake though!

Lovely cake, I didn't know what Discworld was like either...

I'd eat my share of it, although:
A) I don't like Marzipan
B) If I put a piece under my pillow I wouldn't want a tusk in it
C) I'm happily married and intend to keep it that way so scratch B...

 otherwise...

It is a stunning work of art. I never saw why cakes are made into such works of art as someone will eventually eat it... or it will mold and rot.

Awesome! I couldn't eat it, it looks too good.
Did anyone else think this landmass looked like a dragon rising out of the water? (the head is at the top)

Nope, no eating. It's a work of art, not food. (Discworld fan here)

Stunning.

I'll bring the tea, you bring the gossip. I'd eat that cake no problem.

What? Look, its just some silly old dear with too much time on her hands. I demand we destroy her puny attempt at cookery.

In the meantime - check out www.pimpthatsnack.com. Or is it pimpmysnack.com?

Oh, I can't remember. Not enough coffee.

Big Discworld fan here but yes, I would eat the cake. It would just go bad, and I hate throwing away food. Plus, I love marzipan. :D

THAT is awsome! :ok:

The work that must have gone into that is amazing. Reminds me of the kind of work my dad used to do on some of his 3,4 or 5 tier Wedding Cakes hes sometimes got contracted to do.

Would I eat it?

Very impressed by it, but it's still cake. If you don't eat it, what was it's purpose in life?

What a piece of work!!!
Has anyone seen the show on the Food Network, "Ace of Cakes"? This guy looks like he belongs on a Harley, in a Robert Rodriguez movie, but he can make the most amazing cakes. All the people who work in his shop are artists. I have only seen the show a couple of times, but when I channel surf and come across it I will stop to watch.:birthday:

Deb, Caer:
I didn't see anybody enlighten y'all, so here ya go:

Discworld is a science fiction series by Terry Pratchett. The first book is "The Color of Magic (http://www.harpercollins.com/features/pratchettbooks/description.aspx?isbn=9780061020711)". It is a comedic spoof of various other series, but has a life of its own. The world is carried through space on the back of a turtle, supported by 4 elephants, and is disk shaped - hence all the things you see in the cake. Pratchett himself doesn't give a map saying " You can't map a sense of humor."

here's the Pratchett website (http://www.terrypratchettbooks.com/)

Thanks Scentman, I've read 1 and a bit Pratchett books but he didn't grab me, hence my lack of knowledge on the subject, sounds like a lot of Creation Myths thrown together, actually
