Several folks have been asking what the titles are and when they start, so here's a list of the titles which were democratically chosen by the membership in a series of polls run by Shani earlier this year (2004)

Yes it was me. I went to Brooklyn for R & R. Ate lunch out everyday, drank capuccino every day. Got up late, went to bed early, and read tons of other people's books. Spent a 1/2 hour in Barnes and Noble as well, only bought 3 sci fi books though. Sometimes it's a drag to be a fast reader.

However, if you were a member of the old site, and if you ask VERY nicely in the Help Forum, it may be possible to add your post counts from the other site to your count here. Records were kept up to the first proposed closing date, and they may still be available to check your count

I haven't read any of the Crystal Singer, only one of the Damia ones, and have Nimisha on my bedside table waiting to be read. So I can only tell you what Emassi and Wefts are. Emassi are from the Freedom/Botany series (which I really really love). They are a subset of a race of mercenary humanoids with extremely well developed musculature (male and female), grey hair and skin, and yellow eyes. The one thing I'm confused about is that the book says they have yellow pupils, and then yellow eyes, and I always wondered if that was an editorial mistake and it should have said yellow irises. I know, from an email from A.M. years ago, that the editors of her publishing house leave much to be desired. Emassi are actually the ruling caste of the species which are called Catteni.

Wefts are from the Dinosaur Planet volumes. I can't remember a whole lot about them but they are shapeshifters and very influential in the galaxy (I think).

msbookdragon, you can double and triple books on shelves. Between being a large family of voracious readers, Chasidic Jews who have tons of religious volumes and sets of volumes and having Doc around, the amount of books and reading material in this house is almost embarrassing.

Well, since Leah was able to answer what two of them are, I can answer the other two - Makahomian Temple Cats are a ferocious (when they wanna be, lazy at other times;) ) cat who reside in the Acorna series, RK the Makahomian Temple Cat that we all know and love (RK, short for Roadkill) steals the show a lot of the time :D He knows what he's about that's for sure!

Shanachie - I forget the exact job that a shanachie does, but they come from the Powers that Be series, I think they're the main ones to commune with the planet or something, I'm not sure! :D

Lily's first post in this thread had the old, original list of titles. Since then, we voted for new titles that were added to the original list...that combined list is what you see in the FAQ's. So, Talent is where you would have been on the old list and Weyrling is where you are on the current list. Farmer is just a fun temporary title. ;)
