I've read his Mars trilogy aswell as a couple of his smaller works, all are good!
But The Years of Rice and Salt was mind Blowing, imagine what the world would be like if Europe was decemated by plague during the time of colonisation and expansion .... this is the world that Kim Stanley Robinson writes .... and its awesome!

Don't know about that one, but I did enjoy the Mars trilogy! :D
Also read one about America after a nuclear attack...can't remember the name though...I was less impressed with that one.

The Years of Rice and Salt was a brilliant concept and such an interesting book. I loved the idea that there was a set of characters that went through such permutations every time they got reincarnated :)

I know!!!!
Normally i avoid any story involving reincarnation ... and indeed anything with overt religious tones ... avoid them like the Bubonic Plague!!!
But by the time i realised what i was reading .. i was hooked!
I particularly like the way each reincarnation see's them in a later time frame in a different part of the world ... allowing us too see visions of a world without the european renaissance influence !!!!!
