PLEASE READ FIRST

Welcome to the Spam thread! This thread has one reason – Spamming. All posts must fall within site guidelines (obviously) and NO POSTS MAY BE MADE AFTER THE FIFTIETH PAGE (2,500 posts).

Whoever posts the 2,500th post (the last on page 50) starts the new spam thread.

Apart from the above, anything goes. You may post as much, and whatever, you like. Many posts are contain ‘Spam!’ and subsidiary terms, such as ‘Spamsanity!’. There is no requirement to read anything posted in the periods between you last visits.

Post counts do not matter. Spam is not intended to be a race against time or for high post counts. Please do not try and one-up each other, and do NOT quote post counts in large amounts.

Okay... seriously... I know I'm capable of handling drive-up by myself... MOST of the time... but when it REALLY starts getting busy I get overwhelmed, my brain starts functioning a little off which means I get all stressed and a bit panicky, and then I get a little annoyed.

Annedel, you need to have the forum permissions set so that people can "read" them, then they should show, if it is a forum you want nonmembers to see, you need it set to read for even guests.

You know, someone who does the adminny stuff for the classic Doctor Who DVDs really needs to get a grip on organisation!
There were months and months at the beginning of this year with no DVD release since January then in a shortish length of time:
4th June: Robot
9th July: Timelash (which I didn't get)
6th Aug: Timeflight/Arc of Infinity BOX SET
3rd Sep: The Time Warrior (which I didn't get as I own it on video, am short on cash and I'm waiting for:)
24th Sep: The Key to Time BOX SET
And there'll also be
15th Oct: Planet of Evil
26 Nov: Destiny of the Daleks
which will also be in a ginormous BOX SET
and they're talking about a Silurian BOX SET being advertised as the next thingy as the trailer of the DotD DVD.

Surely it would have been better to sort of well, spread them out a bit?
I can't afford to buy them all- especially when some of these box sets are well, expensive! I'm saving up for on but I

a) will no way have finished the Key to Time box set before Planet of Evil is released and I tend to block watch a whole story while I do other things and shops round here only stock DVDs for a very short time.
b) Am a bit frustrated that when I was really down and depressed and could do with cheering up, I couldn't splash out on a DVD like that as they had no new released ones and I'd brought the rest.
c) when the new ones got really dire, I could just pretend that all that rubbish didn't really exist and a new Doctor Who was just inside that DVD box.
d) want to buy books too

In those situations, it's good to listen to an eclectic mix of music - liking the old stuff is fine, but it does paint a big "mock-me" sign on your forehead unless you balance it with something more modern. That's just the way teens are, I'm afraid.

We just got back from Boo's 15 month check up. She's in the 60th percentile for both height and weight at 23 lbs. and 30 1/2 inches tall. She's right on track developmentally. The doc seemed to agree she's probably going to be one of those children who doesn't want to talk much out loud until they can do it right and speak in sentences. (Especially since that's what she TRIES to do anyway.) They said all the nonverbal communication she's been using and evidence she understands most of what's said is a very good sign.

They said she looks like she's doing fine and isn't sick. They believe the way she's been feeling, and possibly the napping thing, comes down to teething and going through a developmental boom all at once. They also said the napping thing could just be normal. Apparently SOME one-year-olds get by just fine on nine or ten hours sleep a night.

(It's the parent's who have problems.)

She completely freaked out every time they did anything. Even standing on the scales was traumatic. (Of course, they wobbled, so I can't blame her there.) Then there was the inoculation and CBC to check her iron levels and for signs of allergies. The poor thing cried for nearly an hour straight between it all, only taking a break now and again to try to pet the fish on the mural. She got a taste of her first lollipop ever, and now she's conked out on the floor in her room.

How do I pin a topic? Sorry, I'm clueless.

there are a couple ways to do it, you can set the options when you are posting the topic. it says below the box to type your post "After posting..." or something similar.

I just created this board, so I should have a way to do it. I just don't know how.

Another way to pin things is to go into the Mod CP and check that topic, then go down to the options and choose to pin it.

You should have seen me yesterday. I left Boo happily drinking a BIG glass of milk. I went back to check on her a few minutes later and found our wedding scrap book out of its drawer and the first six or so pages in shreds all over the living room floor.

It's going to take a long time to get all those gorgeous pages replaced, but it can be done. And what did I do? I squalled for half an hour anyway.

Needless to say, I'm boxing up every one of our pictures not safely hanging on the walls and putting them in storage until Boo's old enough to be gentle with them.

I never get a whole half hour for lunch... It's a pain when you're working 9 hours, though on Thursdays and Fridays I can usually get another short 5-10 minutes later on in the day once it quietens down.

You need a proper break at some point, even if it's just to be able to sit down! I generally work through lunch, today I marked tests while eating my sandwiches.

Boo's 15 month appt. sounds like it went well, Annadel. Is she talking at all?

She says about three words on a regular basis: Mama, Daddy, and bye-bye. We've heard: ball, eat, Nana, Papa, and hi clearly before, but she's not consistent at all with them. She tends to either sign for eat or just go and get something or gesture to let us know what she wants.

Then there's all sorts of stuff where we can kinda tell what she's trying to say, but it's not really clear. We've heard stuff that sounds suspiciously like and fits with the context for: "What's that?" "Want some." "Thank you." "Juice." "What's this?" "This yours?" "Read." and....

"I didn't do it."

I know it was probably just mimicking something she heard, but I swear I heard her say that last one a week or two back.

I'm just happy she's finally started trying to show me what she wants one way or another instead of just pitching a fit until I guess correctly.

What's the matter WeWoKa???

I slept HORRIBLY last night because I kept having to wake up to adjust because my shoulder and wrists are killing me lately. I almost gave up on sleeping around 4 am.

So now I'm in pain and tired. :sigh: At least I'm off tomorrow, and only 2 weeks from tomorrow until I see Bronzie again! :D

I wouldn't be so sure. Her daddy's let a few slip here and there when particularly frustrated with the endless meetings eating up his planning period.

She may have just heard my reaction and decided it'd be best not to repeat what Daddy said.

I need to get a copy of Moving Pictures!
Its my birthday on Friday and I'll get Making Money then but I need Moving Pictures before I can continue. I also need to buy a couple of t***books!

Good grief, that does sound different! Was it a state school?

It still is a state school! Its now part of the commuter belt for London though!
I went back to the area with Nick for a couple of living history shows and he says that it's changed beyond recognition.

I get those and they really annoy me.

A state school does show jumping?! :faint: My school has a small golf team, basically people who train out of school and occassionally represent the school.

We think he could do the drive in under 2 hours in ideal conditions. Those never exist  add in roadworks, heavy traffic and possible crappy weather and it can take over 3 hours.

I just want him home safely :(
