PLEASE READ FIRST
Welcome to the Spam thread! This thread has one reason – Spamming. All posts must fall within site guidelines (obviously) and NO POSTS MAY BE MADE AFTER THE FIFTIETH PAGE (2,500 posts).
Whoever posts the 2,500th post (the last on page 50) starts the new spam thread.
Apart from the above, anything goes. You may post as much, and whatever, you like. Many posts are contain ‘Spam!’ and subsidiary terms, such as ‘Spamsanity!’. There is no requirement to read anything posted in the periods between your last visits.
Post counts do not matter. Spam is not intended to be a race against time or for high post counts. Please do not try and one-up each other, and do NOT quote post counts in large amounts.

Not falling off the MOUNTAIN. Falling over at the foot of it on the first flat spot where I don't need to have my eyes on the ground every second. I think my brain just switches off.
That was the one with the program that kept crashing on me.

What did her parents say? What did yours say, I doubt mine would have tolerated it!
Mononucleosis (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/mononucleosis/DS00352/UPDATEAPP=0)
Also called the "kissing disease". Hmmm.
I knew I'd heard of it, I know it as glandular fever. One of my form may have it. Not sure if it's been confirmed yet.
Mono is short for mononucleosis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infectious_mononucleosis), aka glandular fever for us (I didn't know that until I went to wiki to grab the link for you. I had it once and never knew  My best friend got it and was hospitalised!

Steve had news from someone who might be wanting to move in today (it was about 9pm at the time) so he brought Chris and her kids down and we frantically emptied the room, which had been storage for everything that wouldn't go anywhere else, so this girl could come here tonight if she needed. I scored another small set of drawers so had to do a bit of rearranging in my room too. She hasn't shown up yet but it was cool, I suppose, doing it. (I like moving ;) ) Course, all the crap from the room is now in the lounge and dining room and there's no room in the garage to put it.
Any news on this possible newbie? Whose crap is it?
I ought to get ready to go out...
But I can't get my foot wet...

but you also get the flipside that some of the photos are old!As for that, even the low res pics are old, up to 2yrs or more--but most stuctures don't change that drastically.
(esp if you consider Oz construction sites--the work to extend Tuggeranong Pkwy into Caswell Dr hasn't changed in the entire time I've been here:no: The States tend to be a little better than that, though)

I feel a little better now, my Year Retreat was on today which is always great.
Retreats can be great
Year retreat? Is that when the relief teachers run screaming from the school?
:giggle:
:rofl2:
No, as corny as it sounds, its like a bonding day for us kids. But we love it. We get out of school, have fun, become closer to each other and laugh a lot. Really its great for the simple fact that the stuff we do on one stops those "cliques" from forming and accepts EVERYONE.
Sounds like your school does retreats well. My school has them too, but not to that effect I don't think. How many kids per year though, we can have close to 200 per year.

right... results. Pretty much what I predicted
Failed Fluid mechanics miserably- 21
45 EM theory (had a breakdown in the exam)
50 Stat Physics
52 Quantum Physics
52 Advanced materials (would have liked a few more marks here)
75 dissertation (I was hoping to get about 70)
All passed bar one then, so not a disaster. To pass one where you broke down in the exam sounds very impressive to me. That dissertation score is wonderful! :applause:
We're off to Bristol today - gotta see Mr Attenborough! And we might be getting that solar heating/hotwater if Oldrider can get a good deal...
Sounds like a fun day! :D
Aboiut a fortnight ago.
Oh, I scalded myself the night before I went to Carrock. It blistered overnight. The blisters popped while I was out up on the fell. I put a plaster on it to protect it, but they didn't dry out and so I went to the nurse on turesday. she put a dressing on. told me I could take it off today. I did...but I don't need to see the nurse now. It has scabbed over and dried out thanks be! I don't sharte every little detail of my life on here ;)
You did mention the incident that led to the burn, I'm pretty sure of that. However you didn't mention it again until today, hence most people had forgotten

Compliance administration.
So what do you actually do?
not so much this time. The fail was because I
a) hated the subject
b) didn't understand a lot of it
c) had too much to learn
d) was 100% exam
e) had a howling gale during the exam
f) was answer ALL questions
g) was Maths
Dissertation was a shock . More of a shock was the other guy (who is still here) got 10% less and I thought that his was better.
The other subjects, well...
I'd've liked 10% more on all of them
I had been wondering which was the exam sat in the gale. This post answers that question :)
That's often the way with these things. You certainly work hard enough to deserve that 10% more.

Did you hand embroider the "S" ?
2 hours sleep is not enough to function!
I bet it isn't
Have I mentioned how good the pies were that were sold at that pub in the lake district?
Are they the 'orgasmic' ones? :giggle:
Ah, but some people are psychologically addicted to food (http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2007-07-09-food-addiction_N.htm); to the taste, and the smells, to just having something in their mouth (don't gutter, this is serious). That's the way they have their whole lives. They binge-eat just like some people binge-drink. The difference is: an alcoholic can give up alcohol and never drink again, but a binge-eater has to eat.
It is a very serious condition.

As for that, even the low res pics are old, up to 2yrs or more--but most stuctures don't change that drastically.
(esp if you consider Oz construction sites--the work to extend Tuggeranong Pkwy into Caswell Dr hasn't changed in the entire time I've been here:no: The States tend to be a little better than that, though)
Since we're getting such a delay anyhow, I'd rather get the higher res:yes:
what- my house photo as at least 7 years old! More likely older than 8. We had the foundations dug by then!

The difference is: an alcoholic can give up alcohol and never drink again, but a binge-eater has to eat.Except that anything/everything can be addictive: Gambling, internet surfing, sports (playing or watching), chewing fingernails, etc.
Psychological addictions release the same endorphines that can cause/mimic chemical addictions.Er... it's not really clear.
It's just that, since you were railing against a nanny-state, I thought you might actually be railing against the nanny-state.I'm against the "nanny-state" in that we don't need the government stepping in and controlling every single aspect of people's lives. Yet, we DO need certain controls in place--that's the role of governments is to protect the population from dangers.
Samara was taking both extremes: Absolute control or absolute freedoms
But they're paying taxes and stimulating the economy through their purcahses.
Frankly, being fat, drinking, smoking etc. is a personal choice. They are paying taxes on the products when they buy them, and it is up to no-one but them whether or not they do it. They should, of course, be educated as to what hard they are/could be doing, but in the end it's their body.See, I would say the same thing about prostitution and illegal drugs. If we're gonna be running a nanny state here, may as well go all out. People need to learn that just because you CAN have twinkies for dinner, doesn't mean you should. There has to be a ballance of the two--control or freedom--after all, we've all seen what happens when either one takes dominance.

Ryuu is right that there is a difference. But not much of one.
Personally, I'm not for the simple legalisation of all currently illegal drugs right away. That opens some wrong doors. But I think that most, if not all, recreational drugs should be legalised over time and as a proper understanding of their effects is known [if they aren't already]. Then they can be legalised and just supply the information. Then people should be left alone to do what they want with their own body.

Yeah. So?
Half the problems associated with it being illegal would be mitigated by a path to legalization, and the other half could at least be dealt with more effectively.

Btw, I can see the reasons for banning smoking (2nd-hand cancer) & alki (loss of inhibbitions can endanger others), but other than the mess that comes from eating in a classroom, what's the harm to another person in someone chosing to get fat? I'm just saying, because we don't need dietary police:no:
What about the drain on society with all the health issues, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc...and the younger they are when the weight issues begin, the younger the health problems start and the longer we as a society have to support them.

No, well he's just gone through a divorce and thinks he's going to have to sell the house. I doubt it'd sell fast, especially as he wants more than it got valued for, and if he puts it on the market for that much it won't sell. And yeah, he might have someone else here by the time I come back. I do have a friend who will look after my junk, and I've offered the use of my car to someone else while I'm away. I just don't know what I'll do or how I'll do it when I come back. I /really/ want to study so I can get a proper job but still not sure if I can afford it yet.
