H started a thread on this theme in the youth centre, but didn't want anyone over 30 replying.
This thread's open to all ages.
Okay, I'm still as eclectic as I was at the old WAM KT...
Bryan Adams is still my biggest fave, his star shows no sign of waning.
At the moment I listen a lot to different Celtic music, especially Celtic Rock: Seven Nations, Off Kilter, Runrig, KILT... More traditional Celtic music goes over well too, including Tania Opland and Mike Freeman. :)
On the classical side I'm currently listening to the LotR soundtracks and Josh Groban.
Opera metal goes over well too, Nightwish and Evanescence are both high on my playlist.
Others include Keith Urban, Allison Crowe, Ash, The Darkness, Minnie Driver... :note: The list goes ever on and on... :note:

I listen to a lot of Country any more, because of my wife. I like Matchbox 20, though and a lot of the old rockers like Ian Anderson and others. But I like Keith Urban and Alison Kraus in the Country genre.
There's others but it's a little after 7 AM here and my mind hasn't caught up to my body yet, awake-wise.

I like country but my husband has banned it from any radio when he is in the room! :D I like alot of music from the '50's, '60's, '70's. No specific group or single artist jumps to mind right now as I usually like a veriety of different artisits.

Rather than attempting to explain, I will instead list selected CDs from my small CD case, the one I'm more inclined to listen to, and then from the big case, which has CDs I was interested in enough to pack for moving (I'm not taking every CD I own off to cooking school.) These lists are not all-inclusive.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Hero is on-order)
Music From and Inspired by Mission: Impossible

Music from a Painted Cave (Robert Mirabal and the Rare Tribal Mob)
Denis Leary: No Cure for Cancer (so it's not music)
From the Earth to the Moon

Big Case:
Spider-Man

Just to irritate Wulfin and anyone else that claims to not like country, I like Charlie Daniels Band,
Outlaws,
Ozark Mountain Daredevils,
as well as Travis Tritt (Anymore and Tell Me That You Didn't Say Goodbye),
Willis Alan Ramsey (he wrote Jimmy Buffett's Ballad of Spider John)
of course Jimmy Buffett (i'm not quite a Parrothead, but I've read one of his books, which was quite good),
Toby Keith,
but there's also
John Hiatt,
John Prine,
Bela Flek (ever hear rock banjo?),
Tangerine Dream,
Metallica,
Scorpions,
Ted Nugent (Fred Bear was played a LOT on Country stations ),
Tom Petty,
Brian Adams,
Bob Segar,...............oh, I could go on for a long time, now that I'm semi-awake.
I have a strong liking for Celtic music, too.

Right now there's holiday music in the cd player but usually it's a mix. When I changed over there was Cher, Great Big Sea, Dr. Hook, Phantom of the Opera and Ray Stevens. I like most of the music from the 50's and 60's and some of the disco stuff isn't too bad. :D The entire family likes Trooper, Ian Tyson, Johnny Horton, Nazareth, C.W. McCall, Queen and Meat Loaf. Hubby and the kids like Uriah Heap, ACDC and that style.
For when I'm by myself I've got Heather Alexander and a lot of Mediaeval Babes on the computer.

I listen to about any sort of music. I find that I mostly listen to what I can understand the words to though. So, that means Old Country, New Country, and anything from the early days of rock and blue grass which I may have heard as a kid, or have heard it so many times I know the words.
Most of the new rock bands I have never heard of. We have at least 4 new Religion stations on the radio in the past couple of years. There are even a couple of new oldies stations. I think there is only one real rock station left in my area, that I can pull in. So my choices tend to be limited at best.

I'll listen to anything from La Bohème and Die Zauberflöte (Opera: the Bohemians, and the Magic Flute) to Rammstein (Heavy metal) except...hold the rap, and easy on the country or jazz. Lately I've been into some German Techno by Möhre (pronounced halfway between mow-ruh and moy-ruh, the band name means Carrot, as the lead female is a redhead). I guess my mainstays though are that 80's stuff - Meatloaf, Cindy Lauper, Billy Joel, Tracy Ullman, ELO, U2 etc with some Beatles and Bob Marley for good measure.

H, don't you know titles can't be copyrighted?
Currently I guess Ash is the hardest rock I listen to, but I do like some Metallica, acoustic Godsmack, AC/DC...
Just about the only genre I don't listen to at all voluntarily is rap.

I like anything but rap (which I consider noise, not music) Let me quaulify that statement...I like all gendres except rap.

On my media player I have Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, and Simon & Garfunkle (And yes, I WILL dance around the room singing Cecelia at the top of my lungs). By my kitchen CD player I have U2, Metallica, Simon & Garfunkle and Hollywood's Greatest Holiday Hits. In my car I have Ozzy, Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, Metallica, and an oldies medley.

The best stuff was made before 1990. The good stuff is still good until recently, unless it turns into *shudder* rap. Which is NOT MUSIC. Talking fast != music.
But I love Cream, the Talking Heads, the Rolling Stones, Matchbox 20, Ben Folds 5, The Clash, The Dead Kennedys, Dave Matthews, Frank Zappa, The Doors, and the Barenaked Ladies for ... um, some.
(I will not be stereotypical and say the Beatles! I won't! And I will realize I forgot a lot more!)
I guess a lot of those are mid-90s! But those are just some favourites. I'm also rather fond of, uh, me, but my band is lowscale. :D

I listen to a lot of different music, some classical, some opera, some country, lots of oldies, lots of comtemporary.
For Christmas:
Has anyone heard the one that Barenaked Ladies did last year with Sarah McLachlan, of 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen'? Neat mix.
Like Josh Groban, Trans Sib O, Mannheim S ;)

I was very impressed by Kate Winslet's voice too. I haven't heard Minnie Driver's album, but apparently it's very good. Oh, and Skin (Skunk Anansie's singer) went to the same university as me ;)

Just a post to subscribe until I have time to answer this properly. One thing jumped out at me though...
Ian...The Runaways and Lita Ford but not Joan Jett and the Blackhearts? C'mon now. ;) Her newest cd, Fetish was my first 'parental warning' (I was so proud). ;)
I met her once at a concert. She was very nice.
