Sci-fi, music, comics, etc.

Doesn't anyone watch the food channel? Alton Brown makes food tv into sci-fi and fantasy. "W" has the greatest kitchen gadgets.

Iron Chef and Iron Chef America turn cooking into sports.

I wonder if Anne Mc watches the food channel? Maybe she should do a special on the importance of food to great literature.

We don't get any food or cooking channels here. I used to watch a show called the Urban Peasant, he was great. He did some wonderful meals and he did them fast. None of the "magic" oven on his show. Everything he prepared was ready in 30 minutes or less.

I used to watch the food channel (former Emeril groupie here ). I like the shows that deal with chocolate.

That sounds a lot like 30 Minute Meals (http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/show_tm) with Rachael Ray. I like a lot of the recipes she uses because they're simple. :ok: I like her other show $40 a Day (http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/show_ad), as well.

Used to love "Two fat ladies"

That and "Ready steady cook" even if their recipies are less usable in an actual kitchen...

I love the original Iron Chef show. The new one hasn't caught my interest quite as much, but I watch it occasionally. It's fun to watch what the chefs can do with the "mystery" ingredient! :ok:

My favorite cooking show was pre-cooking channel.

Anyone remember Justin Wilson. Man could he tell a story and cook.

"This recipe feeds one cajun or six yankees."

Two Fat Ladies were excellent, not least because they were so totally un-PC :D

Food Channel showed Two Fat Ladies for awhile. I liked them.

I do remember Justin Wilson the Cajun Cook. He brought Cajun/Creole cooking to the rest of America before anyone ever heard of Emeril Lagasse.

Alton Brown is great atteaching the science of cooking, and explaining why things work or don't work.

I really can't get into Iron Chef, or Iron Chef America.

Never saw Yan Can Cook, I do like Ming Tsai and his East Meets West Show.

One person, who hosts multiple shows on Food Channel I really don't care for is Bobby Flay, his personality really grates on my nerves. I consider it unfortunate that he's the one that hosts most of the Barbecue/Grilling Shows.

I always liked Jula Child. :D

I don't know, I like Bobby Flay. There's a fellow that does a show called the Thirsty Traveller or something like that...he's the guy on the floor in the new Iron Chef. He gets on my nerves big time. And I like the Thirsty show, which goes around the world and explores alcohol in all it's splendor . I just don't like the guy.

Now I'm going to have to go find his name or it will bug me.

Ok I can breathe now. His name is Kevin Brauch.
