how do you get so many post

Something I don't do, but a lot of others obviously do.............every good news post, congratulate. Every happy birthday/anniversary post, congratulate. Just a word or two, but a post that adds on to the count, none the less.

I've been hanging out in the KT (in one form or another) since September 2000. Plus I don't have a huge number of other places I visit regularly. And I get very involved in many ongoing discussions on the KT.

But I only reply to threads where I think I have something worthwhile to say. If I can't add anything new, I skip it. Otherwise I'd be up there with Jayson/Alter :evilgrin:

I spend a lot of time trying to come up with interesting ideas for polls and then jollying them along a bit, also, spend time in the various book forums. There's loads of opportunity to discuss, debate, comment and start new topics in there. People are always appreciative of good topics too :D

Be friendly, always welcome new folk and congratulate achievements (post count ones!) and offer birthday wishes. Read everything and comment on what you can.

Try to be interesting and more importantly, be here!

dae, I don't know if you were with us on the the KTBB but alot of us were and we had our post counts transfered here. Other than that, it's like Jayson said, get involved in conversations, book chats, start a poll. I think the first 500 are the hardest and I never thought I was going to get it. Look what happened to me. :hopping:

Time, effort, boredom, inspiration, curiousity... All these things, and more, contribute to the post count.

Mostly the time and boredom. :roll: Having no life helps, too.

Be consistent - I'm in here pretty much every day. ;) And I check every forum. There's always a birthday, congrats or welcome thread about. Lots of threads in the lounge to comment on. Check the polls forum, there's usually a poll to answer or you could always start one. The book forums have good opinion threads. And check the threads you've already posted in - if someone has quoted your post and made a comment or asked a question then you can quote and answer. There's lots of little stuff, but it sure adds up if you do it every day. :) Just don't be afraid to post and make a comment or give your opinion - jump right in. :bouncy:

I pretty much agree with what all the others told you. You'll find that once you start posting regularly the posts will start to snowball. Because you post, then someone comments on your post. Then you have to post back, on so on, and so on...

oh, and if raising your post count is an important goal then avoid the WLT at all costs. It is highly addictive and will require much in the way of posting - BUT none of the posts count. :devil:

It is the default but it's a cute little default. As to increasing post counts post where ever you feel you have to comment, they all count large or small except those in G&S which is why some people never seem to get as many posts as comment they type. Me I'm just way to busy at the mo.

If you have a lot of post on the KT and you know how many you had on December 15th PM Hans tell him how many and he will check it out and transfer the number for you. And Tony can do that too, he did for me. :ok:

If you want a large post count, the best way to achieve that goal is to become involved. Try helping people. Many times people will ask about things they don't understand; and if you know the answer, you can post and help them. You don't need to be a Host to be helpful...

You can also use your sense of humor. See a post that tickles your funnybone? Post your reaction to it. See a post that intrigues you? Post your opinion.

You can also start Threads of your own. Have an idea you want to explore further? Start a Thread and ask for the advice and opinions of others. Just try to be sure you use the proper Forum when you start a Thread. If you see something in another Thread you want to continue discussing, but is off-topic; start a new Thread for it.

Anyway, the point is -- if you want a big post count, you have to post...
