Hatching at the Fire Ranch

[One Pony]

OCC kind of a carry over from the Gaian hatching.

Charnath was on the road to recovery as was her bond mate One Pony. The dragon and rider were badly injured when Charnath near her time to clutch, had gone to Gaia for a hatching of their long time friends Kit and Nat. One Pony had wanted the Gold to stay at home but the dragon had a mind of her own. While there, Charnath having taxed her gravid body too much, went into labor. Instinct took over and the Gold went between and tried to head for home. She came out over the mountains above the ranch when the pain of labor made her unable to fly. Going to ground in a dangerous place waiting for the pain to pass. Her cries attracted the big cats. As One Pony and other inhabitants searched for her she laid 6 eggs and was attacked by the cats thinking she was easy prey. One Pony and the others found her as she was killing yet another cat the blood soaked area and strewn bodies evidence of her struggle as well were the horrible gashes and slices on the Golds hip, neck and back. On the ground One Pony used the largest stick she could find to fend off the marauders and was gashed from hip to ankle by one cat before it was attacked by a fast green. Badly injured One Pony and Charnath were taken by dragon powered sling straight to the hatching grounds were Charnath laid the rest of her 25 eggs. The 6 she had laid in the open, one a Gold, were crated and taken home. Weather they would hatch would be a waiting game. Recovery was slow and not certain. Now the hatching was at any moment the Gold her body infected by the wounds as was One Pony messages were sent for help and for those to stand.

Silver walked onto the hatching grounds weighed down by a large pot on her back. Tilieth and Anisia followed behind her eagerly taking in the new location. Tilieth's wings were held loosely on her back and they fluttered slightly once in a while in excitement. Anisia just focused on Tilieth's tail and snapping at it as it twitched in her face.

"One Pony!" She called out loudly in case the woman was asleep. She stopped abruptly in front of Charnath. "I've brought something to help. It's a combination of numbweed and an antibiotic antibacterial that I've concocted from plants at home."

Tilieth gave a small trill and looked as if she was asking a question. Anisia just laid down watching her surroundings.

Meanwhile, the tanned woman who had been up behind her scrambled down even as the brown...not a Pernese dragon, but some other species...landed. The blue remained on the grounds, whilst the brown let the young man down before lifting up to land on the ledges.

The tan-skinned woman and the other, a stocky young man who was clearly not entirely human in ancestry, having naturally blue hair, approached One Pony.

"We're here to stand for the clutch."

After Forieth had had landing and with Rika help had the carry nets full of healing suplies removed from her withers. Ginny wiping tears off her face pats her green dragon lovely saying "Thanks for the ride and find yourself a saft place to watch, poiting the ledges that were hand to her landing place. Ginwsh trill and said "If you give me the fire eggs I well keep an eye on them and watch from a shadwed spot." Trilling in worry for the hurtone.

Kit and Nataliya got Neirlth ready and then Kit got on her back while nat opened her wings and took to the skies. Chiro, Sen and Haku were waiting for her and with a signal from Kit they opened a portal and came out above the Fire Ranch.

Neirlth let out a greeting roar before landing near the Hatching grounds. Kit jumped off and ran straight in and over to One and Charnath. She ripped a pouch from round her neck and took out the stones within. She threw the Moon Stones on the ground and whispered, "Moon Stone Heal". The stones began to glow and the light shined on One and her Gold and began the work of healing the wounds. She heard Nat and the other Angels behind. She turned and watched as they opened their wings and plucked a handful of feathers each. They place a feather on each wound and then Chiro lit and burned then with a heatless flame. The whispered words to activate the feathers power, "Ash of Feather from Angel's Wing, Heal the Wounds of these Pure Beings"

Kit knelt next to One and laid a hand on her friends arm. "It won't take long for the stones and feathers to do their thing. Along with all the other healing things that the others have bought you'll both be better in no time. We've all come to stand for Charnath's clutch"

Nat had moved over to Charnath and was now gently touching her head. "You've pain will ease soon Golden One." Chiro, Sen and Haku stood nearby incase thier power was needed but otherwise were quiet.

Knowing her rider did not have the strength to call out, raised her head just enough to look at the woman as painful as it was with the wounds and said " Mine is here just across form me". Clearly they were all exhausted their faces and eyes red and tear ridden. Bright Feather said " Oh thank you for coming so quickly". With the wars and illnesses in the area we have used most of our stores and the Fire Stones are out of energy and need to be recharged in the volcanoes". " My healing energies are spent as well are the other healers here". The last with a barely suppressed sob. " My sister is here" she said moving to the side where the stands were where a makeshift bed was set up so rider and dragon could see each other. " One Pony refuses to leave Charnaths side so we cant put her in the hospital ward." Lia pleading but trying not to sound like she was said 'please do you have anything that will stop the oozing and pain on Charnaths neck?" "We have tried to keep the sand out of it but with no success".

"It shouldn't hurt much longer. Their powers will help you heal faster and this will help with the pain until it does. It should keep out infection. I brought enough for you and your rider." She moved carefully and tried to keep from touching the wounds themselves as she basically painted the poor Queen.

Before she climbed down she made sure to rub the dragon's eye ridges and under her chin. "Hopefully that will help m'lady."

She turned to One pony and looked her over. "Well you got yourself in a fix, didn't you? Couldn't be helped though. Do you think that we can move you and you can act like a sane person if I stay with Charnath and tend to her?"

Bright Feather sighed with relief and looking at Sen said" Thank you Sen I really needed that." " You are fine youngster and you have a big heart." "Tia and Tara made sounds of disappointment when they her the twins wern't coming. They wouldn't admit it but they had a crush on young Rohan and were giving the other boys they have seen around Kits home a new thought. She didn't mention that she and Charnath were caught in a loop where their energies were being passed back and forth trying to heal each other. The energy was losing it;s power by being passed. Things got very busy on the hatching sands. The pop and shatter of eggs came from everywhere. The first to hatch though was an egg that seemed to be in the direct center of the group as if all the eggs were there to watch it hatch. With and explosion the egg burst and out of it emerged a bronze so dark it could have been black. He seemed to gleam as he spread his wings. Bight Feather who had started to stand sat down abruptly. Then she realized why he gleamed. He had very very small gold spots catching the light. He stood for a moment seaming to pose and then moved forward pushing other eggs out of his way. " Who here thinks they can soar with me". One Pony rolled her eyes there was one in every group. One egg slightly to the side the shell just seemed to melt away. Endra with the best nose anywhere said that there was a hatchling there but couldn't be seen. Another bounced and spun as the occupant tried to hatch and finally came to a rest under Nerliths nose. One egg bounced 3 times and then broke on the bottom so a hatchlings rear end and tail were out but the top stayed complete. Two eggs bounced and spun and smacked into each other breaking both shells. One was a large pearl female and the other was a large brown with a green right hind leg and foot. Anther popped and broke to reveal a blue a deep rich ocean blue. His beauty was marred by the marks on his hind left that looked like scratch marks that were a very light brown. Another blue hatched and was a lighter blue and would have been cute but for the egg shell hat that he wore. Two more eggs hatched behind the others a pretty shy green and another pearl. two more eggs hatched one a brown and the other a bronze. They took a dislike to each other and started fighting snapping jaws and flapping wings.

Mandy, the tanned woman, and Jarek, the not entirely human lad glanced at each other.

Then they separated from each other somewhat.

Mandy, for her part, felt her stomach clench a little from nerves. The grounds were suddenly full of assorted dragons. some of whom were fighting. "Hey! Break that up!" she called in annoyance.

Not that she expected them to listen to her, and from what she knew of this kind of dragon, the brown ones preferred males and the bronze ones almost *never* chose females.

Jarek ignored the fighting. He looked at the first bronze, then he noticed the blue wearing a piece of his shell as a hat and started to laugh. Poor thing!

He was supposed to be opening his mind to bond to one of these dragons, but he couldn't stop laughing.

Tilieth bugled a challenge at the bronze hatchling and then ignored him. Break it up you two, find a partner not a fight. She yelled at the two fighting hatchlings.

Silver sat back and watched. She was concerned about the battling hatchlings, but like the rest there was nothing she could do about it. She looked away from them and smiled at the green and the pearl hatchlings. They were darling, but the little blue with the eggshell hat was adorable. She couldn't help but chuckle as she watched him.

As she was working she hear the call of the green wherkin and backher up. "Himm I wonder if Ika can break up the fighting dragonnets till they bond, for I know he has be moving living and non living things before".

OCC: If anyone want Rika to try and break the fighting hatchling give him a call from young and outloud telling him Ginny needs his help. I am working that he is calling range or send a telpathic call tightly at him. Don't need to worry the young which only would get in the way.

Things got very busy on the hatching sands. The pop and shatter of eggs came from everywhere. The first to hatch though was an egg that seemed to be in the direct center of the group as if all the eggs were there to watch it hatch. With and explosion the egg burst and out of it emerged a bronze so dark it could have been black. He seemed to gleam as he spread his wings. Bight Feather who had started to stand sat down abruptly. Then she realized why he gleamed. He had very very small gold spots catching the light. He stood for a moment seaming to pose and then moved forward pushing other eggs out of his way. " Who here thinks they can soar with me". One Pony rolled her eyes there was one in every group. One egg slightly to the side the shell just seemed to melt away. Endra with the best nose anywhere said that there was a hatchling there but couldn't be seen. Another bounced and spun as the occupant tried to hatch and finally came to a rest under Nerliths nose. One egg bounced 3 times and then broke on the bottom so a hatchlings rear end and tail were out but the top stayed complete. Two eggs bounced and spun and smacked into each other breaking both shells. One was a large pearl female and the other was a large brown with a green right hind leg and foot. Anther popped and broke to reveal a blue a deep rich ocean blue. His beauty was marred by the marks on his hind left that looked like scratch marks that were a very light brown. Another blue hatched and was a lighter blue and would have been cute but for the egg shell hat that he wore. Two more eggs hatched behind the others a pretty shy green and another pearl. two more eggs hatched one a brown and the other a bronze. They took a dislike to each other and started fighting snapping jaws and flapping wings.

Kit and the others watched the eggs hatch and giggled has one came to rest under Neirlth's nose. Neirlth gentle licked the egg and then moved it away. Nat saw the two males and flared out her wings, the light hitting them and shining their silver colour onto the fighting males, "Pack that in! Brothers shouldn't fight!"

As more hatchlings came into the world Kit and the others Opened thier minds and welcomed the new borns.

The two fighting hatchlings were distracted from their fight by all the voices and stopped fighting to turn and face the new threat. Standing on their haunches ready to take on all comers not realizing the the big things with only two legs were the source of the voices. The haughty dark bronze made his move and HE would be the first to chose daring the others to try. He paced the perimeter watching the ones there assembled for him. He paced and posed as he made his choice. As he moved along he was cut off by the little blue with the egg shell hat who tottered over to Sliver sat down and said "Mine I have been waiting so lllooonnnggg for you. I am hungry do you have anything to eat?" Then he looked at Tillith and said "wow you are pretty". Enraged the dark bronze roared a challenge. " I was to make first choice and I will make you pay". He started over the sand yelling his anger at the little blue. Frightened out of his wits he shot around Sliver to hide behind her legs.

The pearl female walked over to Mandy and said "You are beautiful and if we fly together you will make me beautiful too"." The shy green walked to where Marya stood and said "you may not speak words but our minds can do it for us". " May I join you in your travels"?

The egg that Nerlith had moved back spun and bounced again breaking the shell neatly and out rolled a white hatchling male that would be the size of a small brown. It walked with the gate of those newly hatched and sat himself down in front of Nerlith. Looking up as far as he could see said " mine why did you make me walk so far?" " Don't you want me?" The brown with the green right foot walked up to Sen and said "you are are strong and have a good heart." "I would like you to be mine but can you accept my deformed color?" Silver brought out a cooler full of raw meat and purposely turned her back on the brazen bronze to calm and feed her blue.... that is after she took off his "hat" for him. "It may have seemed long, but I am here now." She fed him piece by piece making sure he had chewed and swallowed before giving him more.

Chiro watched the lights in sand and tilted her head in confusion. She streched out all her senses, both Gaian and Vampire and couldn't tell what the lights were. She opened her mind silghtly and sent out a thought, *Hello, what are you?*

Nat smiled at the little Brown and slowly spread her wings again, the light catching their metallic silver colour. "I am no dragon Little one. I am know as a Mortal Angel. My name is Revlith by the way* Nat put her hand on Revlith's head and followed Sen over to the meat.

Kit moved her hand to her top and lowered the left shoulder piece down. A puffy red scar could be seen against her dark blue fur. "I am also marked. My scar comes from a sword i was not quick enough to dodge. I have one also on my back in the opposite direction from the same sword. I would be Proud to have you as My Dragon and me as your Rider" The blue gently leaned near Kit and lightly licked the scar. He laid his head in Kit's lap, *My name is Quinlith* Kit smiled, got up carefully and led Quinlith over to the others.

The one first one broken his shell and a darkish brown fire lizard begain to croon and stumble twards the group who were still feeding their dragons, Rika who seen the brown hatch, I can give you a push towards us, Ginny you need to get the food ready, I had a hunch they hatch soon. *He moved carefully the brown towards the group, once he stoped he crooned and headed toward Kit and her group, triping over his wings he ended up at Sen feet, crooning and his eyes show redish.

Rika Sen I think that brown wants you too. Another egg, spun, and cracked a bronze who was as dark as his clutchmate, and a another darkish brown also had hatched Rika who careful moved them towards the group, the bronze croon and creeled towards the mute healer, trip over his wings, and ending right at Marya feet, Rika sent her blue I think that one who landed on or near Marya? feet want her!
The other brown, had stumble right in front of Kit, crooning and creeling with hunder redish hints show in his eyes.

I admit I haven't paid super-close attention to the thread, and I can't see if you've PMed one another either, so I may be missing something. I know you're trying to share and that you're excited, but I'm also sure that One Pony will be back once RL/whatever has kept her away is dealt with.

For a few seconds no more of the eggs in the fire lizard were moving quite as fas as the their cluchmates, Ginwsh who had see things stop moving, started to carefully remove some of the sand away from the rest of the eggs, I hope this well help making better for the eggs. She has moved a bump in the sand, and now it was much smoother, she quickly moved out of the eggs way with a happy cheep, Nice work! Rika called from were he was with his new friend. Just as she had moved, one of the eggs started to spin rolling down the now smoother sand, and just miss Ginwsh tail, she gave a cheep of surpize, this egg stoped and crack open a quite supized blue came out, land in the sand till he got his barings, he crooned at Ginwsh, and started towards the group headiing towards Silver, Rika who was watching could hear the creeling the blue was making toward Sliver, he You are welcome from both of us, Ginwsh and I! He *moved the little blue towards Sliver, stoping just in front of her.* the blue took a step to land in front of Siver creeling his hunger.

Rika moved two of the fire lizard eggs, one moved into the egg pot, which has warm sand in it. The box closed one the small greenish egg what place inside it. Ginny closed her eyes wispering *"Thread: Give the next poster a a critter at NKT" The box show the pot, and send to were requested *It glows greenish as it works". I well put it back in the net sends Rika!
