Though a world quite similar to Earth in terms of climate, flora, fauna and just about everything else, Nerteli is the home of many sentient and sapient races. In a society which is more or less like that of the anicent Egyptians in terms of technology and science, humans and nerthens are all rules by a third race known as the Dragonmasters, and the dragons they control.
Having nothing but the merest flicker of magic, neither the will or capability to overthrow their masters, the races of man and nerthens have lived under the harsh rule of the Dragonmaster for millenia.
Though to a few tribes consisting of both races, living concealed from the Dragonmasters in the vast mountains of Nerteli and other places too remote for the rulers of the world to care about, there was some hope. Having found a species of wild dragons smaller than the great dragons of the Dragonmasters, a group founded by people from all tribes-- spent centuries breeding these lesser dragons. Increasing the size, intelligence and abilities of these dragons through carefull breeding, they hope to one day use them to overthrow the Dragonmasters..
Intended to be a fairly relaxed and focused at the characters as well as the development of the world it is set in, this game is intended to be a fun adventure. Here the GM will provide the basic plot and some nice challenges for the characters, but it will be the players who shapes the details. Certainly the 'bad guys' here is what they seem to be, but as in reality-- there is various shades of black, nothing as simple as 'black' or 'white'.
