I Read the Rowan first and all of the Tower and the Hive books almost in order from there on! it took me a while to get into the series, but after damia i was hooked ....

I think i would have gotten into the series much more quickly if i had read the pegasus books first! but alas that was not to be

Either way The Pegasus/Tower and the Hive series(s) remain my all time favorite anne series !

i just wish there were more in the pipeline  , hey even a new short story would be great !!!!!

Of these, The Rowan was the first i read (i picked up the hardcover for $5 in the bargain section of my bookstore).. and i was hooked from about page 20! (Okay, i cant give the exact page.. i'm at work and the book is at home..LOL!). I'm not sure if i picked up the pegasus books that i'd be all that interested in the talent series since it was the personality/character of The Rowan that got me hooked.

I've never read the Pegasus series

But I love The Tower and the Hive books, I own all 5 and have read them multiple times each. Usually when I re-read one, I'll re-read all 5.

Pegasus..

Actually, my friend recalled the other day it was actually "Get Off The Unicorn"? that introduced us both to Anne McCaffrey.

Pegasus. :D It was either Get off the Unicorn or To Ride Pegasus. I read them both right around the same time, so I'm not sure which one was first. The Pegasus books are still my favorites of the whole series.

I first read Pegasus in Flight and couldn't get into it at all. I have a thing about child abuse, I don't like reading books with that as a theme (two of my least favorite Anne books are Acorna and Power Lines, of which I've only read the first chapter included with Powers That Be). I nearly gave up on it although I managed to slog to the end. I loved The Rowan and every subsequent book, and after reading up to Lyon's Pride I went back and re-read Pegasus. Then I found To Fly Pegasus and Pegasus in Space around the same time as The Tower and the Hive, and was hooked on the Pegasus series too. Out of all that Anne's written, I love the Talents the best.

Oh....I began at the end, I think...Either Damia's Children or Lyon's Pride was first. Then went back and found the others. I might even have found To Ride Pegasus before the Rowan, not sure now. Didn't realize at the time that they were connected.

A lot of people don't realize they're connected at first. :) I know it took me a while.

I read Pegasus and then went to all the used bookstores in my area, and a few out or area ones :D to find the rest of the books.

My first contact with "Talent" was To Ride Pegasus. It had to be Pegasus first, as The Talent/Hive books weren't even written when I started reading Anne's books!!! :D

I can't remember. I think it was the one where we first meet the talents and Darrow (?) is talking about setting up a safe place for them. He meets the nurse that has "healing" hands and it goes from there.

I'm with those of you who read "Get off the unicorn" first. My dad introduced me to Anne's books (about the only good thing he did) :irked: But I have loved the entire series.........

Get Off The Unicorn was my first foray into the Worlds of Anne McCaffrey. The Pegasus books were my first in The Talents series.

I think I read The Rowan first, followed by Damia. At the time, I didn't realize Pegasus and Tower & Hive were connected, so I didn't read Pegasus in Flight until I had run out of other books (which wasn't long in those days, as I couldn't afford to buy many books with my pocket money) on my shelf. Even then, I thought it was a stand-alone until I did a library search, found To Ride Pegasus and read it, noticing as I did several connections...  ;)
Pegasus in Space and the rest of the T&H books followed at length.

I read To Ride Pegasus and then The Rowan I think, or was it Get of the Unicorn and then Pegasus in Flight and then The Rowan?

Basically, I had to flit between the two times of the series as certain books were relesead before others... Pegasus in Space wasn't released until after The Rowan and possibly Damia too!

That is exactly what happened to me Bardmaiden. I read Damia a few years before I read any of Anne's other books as the library didn't have any of them besides Damia. I did read Damia several times though, and it continues to be my favourite in the two series. i just really like her personality.

Not entirely sure...might have been Lyon's Pride. Could have been To Ride Pegasus though...probably was, but I missed the connection at first.

I read the Pegasus Books then I found the Rowan and started down the Tower and the Hive path. Took a little while to connect the two, but when I did the books made a lot more sense.

I actually read Damia first, then when I realized it was the second in the Tower and Hive series I went and grabbed all of them from the library, read them in order, then went and bought them and every succeeding book as well.

Tower and the Hive first. :good:

Then, when I won the signed Pegasus hardcover in the slogan competition on the old site, I started reading those. I read those in reverse order, and still haven't gotten my hands on the first one.

I got the Pegasus trilogy in a single book through the Canadian SFBC. This was my first introduction and as a result I bought all the Tower & Hive books, and also have all the Pern books. I am not as dedicated to the other series' though. :shhh:

I have all of them, including Get Off the Unicorn, which I haven't actually read yet. I don't remember which one I read first, but I think it was Rowan. I do know the first Anne book I ever read, it was MasterHarper and that's just becaude it had a nice cover. I'm shallow, I judge books by their cover. Normally it works.

Will you believe I'm not 100% sure? :) I think I read some of the Tower and Hive books before I read Pegasus. I know that I read book 2 and 3 in the Talent (Pegasus) series relatively late.

I started with Damia first when I was 14 (I think) it took me seven years to get my hands on a copy of The Rowan :) Other then that, I read the rest, including the Pegasus books in order. . . .. well The Tower and The Hive sequence then Pegasus.

I read The Rowan first then as more and more of the books came out I started to collect all books by Anne. On my weekly ventures to the bookstore I found to ride pegasus and pegasus in flight when pegasus in space came out I started the whole series from to ride pegasus and read it all the way through to tower and the hive. re-reading only the rowan, damia, and damia's children. The rest I hadn't read yet. I've since reread it all at least twice but The Rowan and Damia, in that order, are still my favorites of the series.

But I don't regret reading the Tower and the Hive ones first. They are also my favorites by Anne.

I don't really remember now..it was either Damia's Children or the copy of To Ride Pegasus I stumbled across.
I think either Damia or The Rowan or both had to be ordered.
But I did enjoy all of them. :)

Same here, pretty much.

Started with The Rowan, went through to Lyon's Pride, then found To Ride Pegasus. The Tower and the Hive was after that, then the rest of the Pegasus books.
