This may not matter to most people, but willeteers are accustomed to 40 posts/page, and with page-starting traditions, this is significant. The current forum default is 50/page. What's your preference?

I'd actually like it to be 20 (maybe the willet would then grow to 30 pages instead of 15 because it'd still make it to the same post number?) because I can't handle all the scrolling to try and keep up with threads.

My eyes get mad at me when I do that.

I try to keep them happy.

i like 50..the more the better imho... i hate turning pages when i dont have to.. lol, i generally override defaults in the cp when i am able to.. so it's a good thing i don't willet!!!!

I'd like around 25 or 20 myself...too much scrolling annoys me big time
(which is why I also voted to move the avs to the side)

I also do not WLT...I'm a bond-a-holic
To the board designers...Thank You So Much for giving us a separate critter forum

The board numbers each post on the page. I don't think it matters anymore.

I voted "No Preference" on this one. I hadn't really noticed that the pages were 50 posts long instead of 40. But then, I haven't actually made it into the Willet yet either. :tilt:

Am undecided until I get chance to willet a little more...

Trouble is, if we go for a longer page, we'll have to debate whether we go for a longer willet too? I was sitting int he bath thinking about this today, before w**k and pondering...

40 posts / page = 15 page willet = 600 posts!
50 posts / page could = 10 page willet = 500 posts?
50 posts / page could = 15 page willet = 750 posts?
50 posts / page could = 12 page willet = 600 posts?

Keep the pages, the posts go up by a whopping 150 but this could mean more entertainment? Depends on whether pages or posts make the willet? At twelve pages, we'd loose three pages worth of page starting! Bad in my book!

I'm erring on the side of keeping 50 posts but extending the willet to 750 posts! But Jayson will give a final answer next week no doubt ;)

20. Scrolling annoys me big time, even with a wheel mouse.

PMD, cause it's a settable user option. I actually... added 250 and 500 posts on a page possibilities to accomodate Wolfegar (he uses it for printable versions but it works for the regular view too!

Yep, but our contention while discussing it in the willet was that how many (especially newbies) would think to change it to 40/page if we chose to keep the willet at 15 pages of 40/post? This is more a "how are we going to deal with it" issue -- though if enough people had weighed in on keeping the willet 40/page, you'd have seen begging to equal or better the "please-give-us-a--smilie" requests, asking that the default be changed.

I'd like it to be 40 like on the old KT.

50 makes for a lot of scrolling, and though it's user-settable... yes, stupid maybe to ask this for one thread, but if everyone has a different setting it messes up the page starts on the Willet... :redfruit:

Personally, I'm not a Willeter, but if I may be so bold, I have a suggestion.

Why not get some enterprising Willeteer (is that a word? ) to make a list of all the people who currently participate; send them all a PM or e-mail asking them to adjust the "posts per page" to 40 in their settings. Then Post a "WLT Rules - Newbies Read Before Posting" Thread, and ask a Host to stick it to the top.

That covers it for those now posting, and any newbies you attract. If anyone messes it up, you can always fillet them and toss 'em on the barbie... ;)

personally im happy whatever the page length is. i think that although i am a willetter, we can adapt to suit the new board.

I prefer to scroll than page change, as my computer is somewhat slow. But it doesn't worry me, the post count showing is good. I usually don't realize I've started a page until I see I have the first post, so I edit it to whatever is appropriate at the time.

MikeyHow many newbies do you know who read FAQs before post'ing? Also, how many people do you know of who have or do willet? I'm a willet'eer and I'd struggle to remember everyone!

I understand your reasoning Michael but the WLT makes it complicated rather than simple!

I do however think that the WLT is adaptable enugh to cope with a new format! We love to debate and discuss everything and so this is just another opportunity to do so!

I use 20 anyway, because I hate scrolling. The posts are numbered per thread, not per page, so if you want to have something special happen in the WLT at post #41, #81 etc, you can.

I personally sometimes even miss that at first so I doubt I'd manage to remember to post a poem at forty, eighty, one hundred and twenty, etc... Shame though! Couold be fairly amusing to see folk suddenly burst into song mid page

I do not like turning the pages b/c something :darkside: could happen like getting a pop-up or being kicked off.

I prefer 50. I don't like scrolling that much, but I hate lots of multiple pages even more.
