Million Question

My Uncle past away resently and while talking with my Aunt she made the comment that she had a *Million Questions* that she wanted to ask my Uncle.. saying that if she knew some of the answers.. it might make his passing a bit easier... Well the words *Million Questions* kept going though my mind... and here's what finally came from it.. ((PS: the last line of the poem deals with my Uncle being the one who taugh me to dance...)

Million Questions

I have a million question
When I close my eyes at night
As if somehow the answers
Will make it seem all right

There are things I’ve often wondered
And never really knew
That just might set my heart at ease
If I knew them to be true

Did angels came a ‘calling
On the night he breathed his last
Sent by God in Heaven
To reward him, for his past

Was Grandma there to greet him
With Grandpa by her side
And all the Aunts and Uncles
To comfort him and guide

Did the cousin’s come a running
Did sorrow fill the air
As everyone remembered
All those that they held dear

Will they know him when they see him
For twenty years has come and gone
There are new lines on his face now
To show the man that he’d become

The legs that once went dancing
That grew withered over time
Will they dance to some new music
Giving joy to heart and mind

And in some distant future time
When I’m standing on Heaven’s Door Step
Will he be there to greet me
For one more Texas Two step
