Suddenly Empty
It's that sudden realization
that there's nothing else there.
The drama of the moment
screaming "It's not fair!"
Smiles quickly fade away,
hope instantly shatters.
Tears begin to form,
nothing in the world matters.
The pain of rejection
tears the soul apart.
It happens in an instant,
Crack! So breaks the heart.
How could one single man
be so incredibly cruel?
How can a single decision
make so many look the fool?
"Was it something we did wrong,
I thought we did alright!"
"Oh dear me! Dear me!
What a positively dreadful night!"
Anguish and defeat
Envelope the minds of many.
Perhaps it's all because one thing:
We never got our lucky pennies!
*bows* Alright, an explanation of this one. I don't actually do rhyming poems very often. I felt this was a time when I needed to because it does deal with the arts more traditionally. This was about our One Act Play advancing dreams being shattered by an idiotic judge. *could go on really long rant but controls self* Please comment in the feedback. New thread to come for this!
