AIVIS screwed up. AIVIS really, really, really screwed up... And no one knows it yet.

Delandri Weyr has only been in existence for 73 turns of the current interval. Most think it will be a final, permanent interval, which has given rise to a whole new crop of problems, issues, and conflicts, some of which are subtle, some of which are not. Delandri was designed to be above all that, and thus far the Gold riders who have run the place have managed to keep it above board, but Braea and her queen Sybrilaeth have passed on after fifty three turns of leadership.

Their successor is a young, aloof rider, Chantal, and her Gold Lyrrath. For the past two turns they have managed Delandri in spite of the doubts as to their capabilities. Thus Delandri serves as a neutral party to Hold bickering, something that brings them in sharp conflict with the holds and crafts... perhaps especially Honshu Weyrhold. Many of the riders still assume that because those at Delandri are also riders, they will receive preferential treatment. It has only happened twice and the punishments were severe on both sides. Everyone wants Delandri keeping everyone /else/ honest, but resents that Dalandri keeps them honest as well.

Meanwhile the Holders and Crafters have gone about their trades, expanding and flourishing in the absolute lack of fear. Dragonriders have turned their attentions to things having nothing to do with Thread. If it is never going to fall again why should they bother?

There are some skeptics, however, amongst both dragonriders and the non-dragonriders alike. But they are dismissed like so many old fools or dithering Uncles to be humored, tolerated, and disregarded. Unfortunately... both groups are right. This is the last interval, and Thread is coming back.

Delandri came about from a desire to find out what would happen if, rather than no AIVAS as many games do, or complete success as other games have, AIVAS was THOUGHT to have succeeded, only to fail misserably, this time leaving even the dragonriders unprepared.
