From the Elizabeth Ann Scarborough (http://www.olympus.net/personal/scarboro/books/petaybe.htm) website:

OVER THE VOLCANO: The first in the series about Sean and Yana's twins, Ronan Born For Water and Murel Monster Slayer Shongili, selkies like their father. In this book the twins, with the help of their Snow Leopard and Track Cat nannies, Coaxtl and Nanook, and an inquisitive otter with "hundreds of relatives" explore their dual nature as seals and people while exploring their planet, coping with the invasion of strangers, and with their own exile.

Well, it is a bit better than Goat Dung... ;)

I remember chatting with Anne in the KTL and asked her about who was responsible for naming her that. I told her that I was upset when I first saw it, but after finding out why, I chilled out. Anne owned up to it, and we had a good laugh over it.

Also, if I remember correctly, I asked her if she was considering another PTB book, and she said they were discussing it. I like the PTB series and am looking forward to a new story. :D

MikeyAh... Goat Dung worked entirely as a name! I was rather fond of Goat Dung and her own self worth. A very interesting a well written character with a name greatl;y reflective of her society.

Not something I'd necessarily pick for one of my own... Not that I'm ever having any!

I think they may have changed the title - just found this on Del Rey's website:

Changelings
Book One of The Twins of Petaybee
Written by Anne McCaffrey and Elizabeth Ann Scarborough
Fiction - Science Fiction | Hardcover, 272 pages | December 2005 | $19.95 | 0-345-47002-8

That's a rather misleading title, as a changeling means they were switched at birth.

Oh good...Christmas present time!:ok:

I assume the changeling title means they will have the ability to change into selkies like their dad.

I am looking forward to this one!
