Does anyone else out there think that Steven Ericson is the best auther ever!!!!!!!!!!! (More or less)
What do you think of his magic system? I think it is verry good. He gets an amasing amount of realism into his books with all the shades of grey not just black and white-good bad.
Let us frolic in the delights of this wonderous auther...
Ok maybne not. Let us discuss copeously the briliance of the man.

For the benefit of those of us who have never heard of the guy, perhaps you could give a list of his books and some idea what they are about.

K. His books (starting from the first book in the series) ar a series of Fantasy books called the "Malazan Book of the fallen" (that's the series name) there are 5 books so far and a couple more to come. They are a bit difficult to get in to as they ar Uber complicated and you understand nothing of the 1st 9 chapters (1st half of the first book.) Then you get to know them and they are amazing. I'd advise reading the 1st book twice before reading the second coz then you'l catch the bits you mist coz you don't know him in the 1st half.
Gardens of the Moon
Dead house gates
Memories of Ice
House of chains
Midnight tides
Anything else you want to know just ask.;)

I've read all of his published books (sent for them from the U.K. to sunny [not at the moment] California, U.S.A.) Liked them very much and am looking forward to the next book, which I understand will be released next year. :2cent:

Violent, heartrending, political, and fascinating. I am doing a reread, but I can see I will be rereading often to pick up the bits and pieces. As T'ley said, the books are very complex, involving a huge number of characters, all of whom are worth meeting. Who is your favorite character, T'ley?:2cent:

New book is out! Bump Bump Bump!
I've got to Midnight Tides on my re-read, and should be cracking open my copy of Bonehunters over the weekend.
Joy!

Enjoy. It's well worth it. I ordered my copy from Amazon, UK. The U.S. won't get it for a year or two and I can't wait that long. Already looking forward to the next book in the series.

I really like Anomander Rake, he is my favorite by far! I like the way Kruppe talks, it is different, unique you can say ;)

Just finished "The Bonehunters"
Wow. These days, I don't often read into the small hours on a work night. But just... wow.
Of course, I still think Shadowthrone's a complete fruit-loop, and it's really Cotillion running the show as far as Meanas goes (or at least he was smart enough not to get sucked in to the role that Shadowthrone ended up with).
Overall opinion: a great showcase for some of our favourite characters. I'm sure there's so much depth that I've missed though, so I'll have to give it a re-read. And if D'rek can do what she did, I'm really hoping that Mael takes similar actions somewhere down the line.
As for Laseen. Hmmm. Like everyone else, I'm going to withold judgment for a while. But I think she made some poor choices this time.
