Ok folks my country music quotes thread isn't going over well so let's try something else. Also I'm very expansive in my definition of southern rock, and include some people that are usually considered country.

1.
Well, I've got to run to keep from hidin',
And I'm bound to keep on ridin'.
And I've got one more silver dollar,
But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no,
Midnight Rider-The Allman Brothers credit to Ian

2.
Well my father was a gambler down in Georgia,
He wound up on the wrong end of a gun.
And I was born in the back seat of a Greyhound bus
Rollin' down highway 41.

3.
Sittin' on a bar stool actin' like a darn fool
That's what I'm a doin' today
Sitting' her drinkin' tryin' to keep from thinkin'
I'm a boozin' my troubles away
Well now I couldn't make her stay doggone her anyway
She can't say that I didn't try
So pour me another one
Im Finished with the other one
Drinkin' My Baby Good-Bye- Charlie Daniels credit to sglandon

4.
She claimed to travel in her own Lear jet
When in fact she arrived in a powder blue Corvette
She only stays in the plush hotels
She loves her daddy's cash
'Cause it spends so well
Just watch the way she walks
She's got a double barrel figure
Watch her body talk

5.
I was born a country singer
I love Charley Pride
Raised on 'He Stopped Loving Her'
Cut my teeth on 'Mama Tried'
Yes, I love Hank Wiliams
But I still love rock 'n roll

6.
You can't roll a rock, up a hill that steep.
You can't pull roots when they run that deep.
He's gonna live and die, in the eye of an urban storm.
Daddy Won't Sell the Farm by Montgomery Gentry credit to Mausey

7.
Now come Monday morn we'll be headin' out to the field
And we'll be doin our thing for Papa and ol' Uncle Bill
Lord, but then come Friday night we'll be headin to town
Tryin' to pick up any woman hanging around

8.
Swore I saw a Free Bird fly
Ridin' the winds of a Southern sky
And when I hear that whistle blow
It carries me back
Brickyard Road by Johnny Van Zant credit to sglandon

9.
I never thought it'd be so easy
I never thought it'd be so fun
but I heard it in the alley
now I got it on the run
if you want to see an angel
you got to find it where it fell

10.
I must have been through about a million girls
I'd love 'em then I'd leave 'em alone
I didn't care how much they cried, no sir
Their tears left me cold as a stone

Space Cowboy - Apparently, I am the ONLY person with a definite redneck background here.... I know more, but wanted to let others have chance.

Think about how I feel!!! Two of those are nearly impossible if you don't the genre, but most of the others are very well known. Oh and for the record # 8 is not "Freebird".

It's Brickyard Road by Johnny Van Zant. It is a tribute to Skynnard, right? I really need to go get some therapy...LOL!

Yeap it's "Brickyard Road". That was one of the two that I figured would be impossible unless you know the genre. And it is definately a tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Well, I have to admit, even when you get old, sometimes you need to get in the car (even if it is the momma van), roll down the windows, cruise down the road and listen to Skynnard. My best female friend listens to southern rock MUCH more than I do, but I have been exposed to a lot in the last few years through her. SHE is very redneck, and PROUD of it - LOL!
