URGENT!!! UK gatherers please read!

I am having trouble getting a hotel booked. Everywhere I try seems to be full.

There is one way I am reasonably sure I can get somewhere booked, but for that I need all who are attending to post here if they will need single, or will share.

The hotel I had hoped to get a place at now can't take us...........
Selene, did you have any possible bookings?


I will be willing to share, as far as I know I will be sharing with C'ris and Sy....Korin possibly. So that would be one Quad room with a possible space.

Sorry for this confusion, but they need to know who is sharing/not sharing to arrange a group rate.

Further to our telephone conversations of today.



I am pleased to be able to offer you Hotel City Inn, Glasgow. 05August for 2 nights.



The rate would be GBP43.00 per person per night based on twin or double rooms and GBP87.00 per person per night based on single rooms, all rate inclusive breakfast service and tax.

I am holding 2 twin rooms, 3 double rooms and 5 single rooms, one confirmed wheelchair access, disabled facilities.



I can hold these rooms on option for you until 6pm on Thursday 19th May.



As discussed, in order to confirm a group booking, a non refundable deposit of 20% of the total cost is payable and the balance is then payable 6 weeks prior to arrival i.e.24June. Happy to accept individual card payments, but would have to add a small fee of approx 5% per charge to cover additional costs we would incur.



Please check with all of the party and get back to me asap with final numbers and I will be happy to help your group best I can.

As an update, I aint going to the gather
I am trying desperatley to sort this out for you lot, but as a favour, can you all post who is still going? Cos I need to know by Thursday who is going or someone else can take over. I can't take this. Two months Glasgow has been fully booked for and if I had gotten HALF the cooperation I asked for in half the time I could have sorted a hotel. Sorry to rant, but it is a stoopid place to book for in the summer. It's expensive enough as it is. Anyone is free to take over on Thursday, cos that is the last day I can book the rooms I posted the prices for above. I have arranged for everyone to pay for their own booking fee with a 5% fee added to each person's bill. If that aint good enough someone else PLEASE feel free to take over. Sorry you guys, but I just aint being taken for a fool anymore. £50 spent on my mobile already trying to book this and £20 on my sister's housephone and I still can't get it right.

Hi everyone. By the looks of this thread, the UK Gather idea seems to have fizzled out. :( Lanen and I will be meeting up with KC at the WorldCON. If anyone else is going and would like to meet up with us, leave us a message on the "voodoo board". Lanen is registered for the con as "Elizabeth Kerner". I'm just me. KC, I hope you'll contact us, because I don't know under what name you'll be registered. (Maybe Lanen does).

Unfortunately, we're going to be off the Internet for the duration of the con (unless there are some public access points). Lanen's laptop has decided that this week would be a really good time to stop working. :irked:

Lanen and I are going to be there from Thursday afternoon to Monday. Stupidly, we arranged to pick up our cats early on Monday evening, and have now discovered that two of the major events involving Anne are happening on Monday afternoon. We're going to have to do some sweet-talking at the cattery tomorrow. :roll:

Hi everyone. I'm back from the "Interaction" WorldCON in Glasgow. :bouncy: It was a great event - so many things to see and do. Lanen and I have both returned exhausted. :deadtired:

We met up with KC, and all of us met Anne at one point or another. It was lovely to get together, but a pity so few other KT'ers made it. We missed having a UK gather this year. Maybe next year?

KC, did you manage to get included on that Kaffeeklatche with Anne? Last I knew you were the first reserve.

I hope you all enjoy DragonCON as much as I enjoyed the WorldCON.
