We've mentioned it before. Robin's splendid redition of Robinton is posted here....
Which are your favorites from Robin Wood's Pern work? My all-time favorite is Robinton, followed by Alemi, F'nor, and Leri!

I love the Robinton portrait :D
I'm very fortunate in that I have a photo of me sitting next to it at Dragonhold :bouncy:
I also like the pictures of the girls from the Harper Hall, gives them more character.
And I would kill to be romanced by the original of N'ton or G'dened :good:

Just like the way the person's shown: Capiam (he looks so thoughtful!), Desdra, Mirrim (what a look of joy), Dag and Fergal (they look so IRISH!), Groghe with his firelizard.
Care nothing about the character/personaliy, like the picture as art: Manora (what gorgeous colors), Robinton (texbook example of flatering portraiture), Brekke (captures fear/vulnerability so well and she has an interesting face), Alemi (he makes me think of a Greek fisherman for some reason)
Both: Nerilka. What a striking portrait.
Don't like: Alessan. For some reason he seems very flat. Menolly--just not pretty in general (the picture, not the subject.) Jaxom--maybe it's a Ruatha thing, but same problem as with Alessan, there's something flat and lifeless. Sebell--too fantasy-novel-coverish for me. Yanus and Mavi--har de har har, it's "American Gothic", very funny--WAY too obvious (and of course not really an accurate swipe anyway--the couple in "American Gothic" are a father and daughter.)

Have to say Robinton is my favourite, however the pic of Anne on the back cover at the long table would have to come a very close second.

I disagree with Anareth on Robinton's portrait, I actually think it's not really flattering the person but the clothes and wineglass (I have that Robin Wood print of the wine glass  Cheryl).
I do fully agree on Dag and Fergal! :) They look archetypal Irish indeed and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they are people Anne knows personally.
I dislike Lessa's portrait and can't find all of F'lar in his... but I do like F'nor and Piemur of course :D He took some getting used to because he seems to be a mite more chubby than I pictured him, but now I love him.
It's Sebell's portrait I really love and that while I don't think his character is one of the best ones in the books :) Moreta and Nerilka are favourites, too! And I always grin when I see Wansor's and, strange enough, Campen's.

T'gellan is the picture I like the most - he has a warmth that none of the others do.
Leri is great, so is Groghe, and I'm also partial to the pics of Sharra and Mirrim.
Robinton was the only one that I looked at and said 'That looks just like what I thought he looked like!' There's something about him ...
I was disappointed in a few of the pics - F'lessan looks too plastic (mind you, so does the guy he was modelled on) - and some of the characters that I thought deserved portraits instead of sketches didn't have them. Haaaaaated the pic of Lessa, though thinking about it she's probably very accurate.

Was there a link in that first post? If there was, I can't find it!

I only ever saw the book once, when I borrowed it off a friend. Very few of the pictures were on the website, or I couldn't find them just now. From memory, my favourite was actually the cover, with Anne, Robin and Anne's daughter on one end of a table, and Lessa, F'lar and Robinton on the other. It just tickled my fancy sitting down to converse with the characters. Least favourite was Moreta, which looked too much like someone else's painting, but I can't remember who - Jean Batten, pioneer aviator?

Is there anywhere else a person could see some of the illustrations if they didn't have the book?

I LOVE Robinton's picture (I have a color version of it that I got from Robin Wood's online store here at home) and I do love Teleri's and F'nor's picture as well.
I was just lucky to get the book for UNDER $20 on Ebay, and in near perfect condition!!!!

I, unfortunately, have never seen the book. And, this is the first time I have seen the picture. Thus, I withhold my opinion until future notice. :)

I just found a site with a few pictures from the book  (http://francois.labarbarie.free.fr/pern/pern09.html)

Some I really liked, such as F'Lar, F'nor, and Capaim (mix him with a little bit of Oldive and you have exactly how I pictured Capaim). Moreta was alright. I didn't like Piemur that much, he looked a tad too chubby, I always pictured him kind of short and reasonably thin. Lessa - I didn't like that portrait as how I envisioned her, but comparing it to her personality, it fits, looks very chilling. But I wish she would move out of the way! I want to see more of that tapestry!

Robin also did the artwork (character cards) that appeared in the Mayfair Games DRoP.
It looked like she had used Richard Hatch as the inspiration for F'lar in both.
But F'nor looks like Dirk Bennedict in the Mayfair Games portrait--I don't recognize who the image might be in Peoples. But given their relationship, I thought it was rather amusing statement made in the Mayfair portraits.
I thought Robinton's portrait catches his character very well & I think it's clear this is someone who's got a dagon's-load of wits about him!
People's Brand looks like Lee Majors. Oldive looks like Timothy Dalton. Brekke and F'lessan look familiar, but I can't place where I've seen their likenesses before. F'lessan looks rakish enough that I want to hang around just to see what mischievousness he'd get into  I like what I see of Menolly's face, that I'd like to see more. And Ditto to what BDR said about moving Lessa out of the way to see the tapastry :fiend:

From the link BDR listed, F'lessan reminds me of Kirk Cameron from Growing Pains. I tried to find a good picture to show - here's the closest one: :) (http://www.weht.net/WEHT/Kirk_Cameron.html)

I always liked the painting of Oldive--he just looks like what I think a healer should.

I like the pictures of F'lar, Lessa, Mirrim, and F'lessan the most. Oldive is good too but I always pictured him as being a bit older. The Capiam one looks a bit like Hugo Weaving ("Feeling better Mr. Anderson?") though in a good way. I don't like the one of Jaxom though, there's something about the smirk on his face that just makes me want to smack him.

I feel the same way about the portrait of Jaxom. I always imagined him as something like Jake Gyllienhall (from The Day After Tomorrow) but not quite as skinny. I guess the main thing I didn't like about Lessa was that she looked too much like Courtney Cox :(

F'nor: David Hasselhoff
F'lessan: Hint of young Michael Jackson
Piemur: WTH???? Way too fat! Lets see HIM slip through a window and into a sack!
I do notice that the women have a slightly eskimo/asian cast to their faces.....

Silvina reminds me of Disney's Snow White, but older... And I knew a guy older than me that went to the same high school that I did, and when I saw F'lessan's pic, I though of him. Mirrim reminds me of an actress named Christy McNichol. Capiam reminds me of Jack Nicholson, and Oldive is Timothy Dalton. The two women in the kitchens at Harper Hall posed with Camo, remind me of Bea Arthur and Betty White from the show The Golden Girls.
