Okay, I've gotten to the point where my idea started! I had a vague idea of a ghost story on Pern, where a person - probably a child - would be exploring, meet a stranger in a hidden room, and then they disappear... no one believes the person, but fire lizards sent to find the missing child see the stranger, and tell a dragon, and the dragon says The fire lizards see two people in the room. So then I had to figure out how a dragon would happen to be there, and why the dragon would get involved in the fuss! And now I have a possible thought of what will happen next, but I need to take a break to let the ideas percolate!

I hope you enjoyed this insight into a work in progress! :D

I have read it now...and damn, I still want more, even if you say it is finished!!! You are a very good writer. One comment though...you're is a contraction for you are, and in the last post I think you meant your....but I LOVED your story....I edit another friends writing and your writing is so interesting...make more about her!!!

Okay, thanks! I fixed that - I'm surprised at myself, I usually don't make that kind of mistake!!!

I think I'm going to leave Sarla to get on with her life at the Weyr without interfering anymore... she's got a friend, and there are still tunnels to explore. I really don't want to make her some kind of "medium" who is suddenly seeing ghosts everywhere.

I am planning to write a small epilogue - a song written by someone at the harper hall who read the story about the girl seeing the ghost in the tunnels...

I was just rereading Dragonquest, the part where Jaxom and Felessan get lost in the tunnels at Benden, and Jaxom is wondering out loud about all the old unused tunnels at Ruatha and whether all the holds are like that...
