Something Evil

Grey One.
Years ago, Grey One lived at Earth as a young human woman-- never really thinking that she was any more than a normal human. However, due to a series of events begining with her discovery of a firelizard egg and the Impression of blue Kite a few weeks later, she eventually found out that she was not who she thought she was. During the next two years, she not only found out that she was able to shapechange into a silver-grey winter dragon, but even that might have been considered nothing out of the ordinary when she met the Mage Yanarid-- who gave her the information she needed to contact her dragon family.
Grey One(Mrrilirrtriva) is a 28 meters long winter dragon with silver-grey skin and sunflower yellow eyes, not too slender and not too muscular or compact of build. Like any other sjirran dragon, she is quite talented at shapechanging and she can also be considered a fairly talented magic-user, her speciality being the creation of new lifeforms through magical processes. In the five decades that have passed since she left Earth, she has bonded with a large number of firelizards and other creatures in addition to blue Kite-- this group being known as the Pride. While she have had many homes since she first came to Sjirra, the mountain Tekaini Kiak is now her permanent home-- that she share with a large number of other beings including her bonds. Among them is the white and blue swirled winter dragon White Sky, although the male winter dragon have been out traveling on his own for quite a while now...

Millenia has passed since then, and Grey One has mostly retired, only occationally leaving her home somewhere in the Multiverse

Sarril.
The daughter of Grey One's sister Green Wind, Sarril is a 15000 years old winter dragon with skin of blue-tinged silver and eyes of dark green-gold. She's just over 25 meters long and a bit more muscular than most of her kind, but not so much as to make her appear bulky.
While younger, Sarril was known as a rather mischevivous individual with a unstopable curiosity-- so she should probably consider herself fortunate that she didn't get into more trouble than she did. The worst that happened was the time when she was caught sneaking around in the private quarters of a Mage, which resulted in that she spent the next week in the form of a hamster. However, fortunatly she has grown more responsible in the centuries since then, maybe due to the responsibility of caring for and training her Bonds.

The clutch-sister of Sarril, Jyelen is a black and gold winter dragon with sunflower yellow eyes. Only 19 meters long, she's noticeably smaller than her sister and she is also more slender of build-- with longer wings. While she is usually calm and even a bit shy, she can speak her mind when she needs to and she won't let others to talk her into doing something she doesn't want to. Jyelen has a quiet sense of humor and she also seem to have interests in the direction of books, reading and writing, she's also a talented shapechanged even by the standars of the sjirran dragons. When quite young, she paired up with the panthran dragon Csianraa, and they took over as Dragonleaders of Tekaini Kiak Dragonmountain when she was 241 years old.

Even right after she hatched, Elràniel displayed a independent streak that haven't been seen in any lenthean dragon since their kind was changed by elven and human sorcerers thousands of years ago. Instead of bonding to one of the candidates present, like her brothers and sisters had done, she decided that she would rather remain unattached and headed straight for the feeding table-- demanding that someone fed her. In the begining, it was mostly Aorewen'Nethani who cared for her, but in the year that has passed since then, she has learned what she needs to take care of herself most of the time. While she is a rather calm dragon who tends to see thing realisticly, she found one of her closest friends in the sjirran gryphon Kirkin.
Her first bond was the blue pernese dragon Cisath, but since then many more have joined her.

Kirkin Tael'jin.
A young sjirran griffin, or a gryphon to be more spesific, Kirkin have only recently became one of the residents at Tekaini Kiak. Her plumage is a muted white-gold, while her fur is a creamy white with faint markings of gold, her eyes are dark green speckled with gold. Among Kirkin's more noticeable character-traits is a certain arrogance and a disregard of other races, and she is also known to be quite ambitious. Originating from a all-griffin colony in one of Sjirra's least settled areas, Kirkin is of the opinion that hunting sapient creatures is no different from hunting dumb animals. After all-- a sapient creature is almost equal to her and therefore have a fairer chance.

Amateyan.
One of the few humans living at Tekaini Kiak, Amateyan come from a alternate Pern where the planet was conquered by the lentheans. Like the rest of the pernese dragonriders, she would have lost her dragon if it hadn't been for that someone intervened. For several years, the sunlizard Kiwidinok had posed as a blue firelizard, pretending to Impress Amateyan. So when the lentheans came for Amateyan and her brown Jakarnath, the sunlizard transported her and the brown away-- to the planet of the shadowlizards.
Then, after spending a few months at that planet, getting used to her new life and the fact that going back would simply be too dangerous, Amateyan and Jakarnath went to Tekaini Kiak.
While making a life for herself was not easy, it became even more complicated when Amateyan was chosen by the red astral dragon Jarvi....
About nineteen years old, Amateyan has dark blonde hair with some highlights of brown and her eyes are green-- brown of color, her skin is tanned after spending a lot of time outside with Jakarnath. Although she's still a bit quiet, she can be quite cheerfull at times and she has a bad sense of humor(especially after a few glasses of wine).

Celèwiel.
As a circean, Celèwiel is probably among the more elusive among the visitors to Tekaini Kiak who Grey One considers her friends. About 5 kilometers long in total, her 'petals' are a dark copper of color, while her body is mottled emerald green and a lighter and slightly duller shade of copper. Having the spirit of a traveler-- she cannot tolerate to stay in the same place for long, Celèwiel will also probably seem more than just a bit antisocial to most(especially as she is not one to talk much). However, she share a deep bond with those few firelizards and other creatures she have Impressed and she certainly enjoy their company during her travels.

An elf from the desert planet Haawen, Aorewen has dark brown hair, tawny eyes and dark skin that has turned dark chocolate brown from years spent in the glaring sunlight of her homeworld. Used to harsh conditions where water is rare, she is sinewy of build and while she can't be said to be particulary strong, she is an endurant and swift runner. Due to that she only recently found out how to travel to other worlds from her own, she is still not quite used to seeing green and growing plants and large bodies of water, so swimming is a favorite pastime to her. While she doesn't have much magic on her own, she is merged with the kailerthern male Nethani-- something that certainly make her special enough.

Nethani.
Nethani is the 20 years old kailerthern who is merged with Aorewen. The base-color of his scales is a dark crimson, with wisps of tawny and gold swirling across it, and his eyes are a glistening silver-green rimmed with gold. While only half as old as his Chosen, he can sometimes act quite a bit older than he truly is and as he is in possession of a inquisitive spirit, he love nothing more than to learn and discover new things. However, he have a tendency to enjoy quarreling and he often display a rather sarcastic sense of humor.

Sakujna.
The only djearian at Tekaini Kiak, Sakujna(the name she use due to that her real name is impossible to pronounce for most humanoids) is certainly not someone it's easy to overlook. While she most of the time come through as a calm and quite serious young woman, being a individual with strong oppinions about things-- she is not someone to hold those oppinions to herself in a discussion. Also, if she thinks something isn't done right or is unfair, she will not hesitate to let you know.
Early on, when she first came to the Dragonmountain as a student, Sakujna really didn't feel comfortable with the entire idea of Bonding with any creature, and she therefore made an effort to avoid such things. However, that was not something that was going to last. To some it may have almost seemed that the three younglings conspired with each other, but no matter what was really the reason-- about a month or so ago, she somehow aquired three Bonds during the same day
First, the panthranian silver Sahan somehow ended up in her quarters, insisting that Sakijna was his chosen and followed her around till she had to accept his choice. Next came the grifsprite, Sijen had somehow gotten lost in the mountain and was found by Sakujna-- who simply couldn't bring herself to let anyone else care for the youngling when his mother weren't found anywhere. And last came Sashi, the sliver dragon queen who happened to hatch just as the young djearian was working close to the Hatching Grounds in the evening. Making her was off the Sands and to the room where Sakujna worked, there was no way back when the dragonet let it become known that the djearian was her chosen.
Being a hard-working student and in the possession of a strong talent for magic, Sakujna is determined to make it far, and currently she's working on wasy to permitt her and her bonds to work in concert-- thus boosting their individual Talents and other abilities.

Winternight.
A terranian born at an alternate Earth, Winternight came to Tekaini Kiak about six months ago as part of his training to become a Catwarrior. Like all terranians, his hair and eyes are black, and his skin is a deep, bronzy tan-- with a tatoo pattern of black, swirling lines. He's not very tall as terranians go, only just over 6 feet, and he's still a bit too young to have developed much muscle yet.
While he's a rather serious young man most of the time, rarely displaying a sense of humor, it has sometimes happened that his fellow students have fallen victim to various pranks-- which no-one have really been able to
find out who's responsible for. Winternight will usually be wearing rather simple shirts and trousers, usually in colors like pale greens or blues, and sometimes shades of grey.
When he first came to Tekaini Kiak, Winternight brought with him his familiar--a lioncat called Kephri, but like so many students at the Dragonmountain, he soon ended up with three more bonds. First, the kyols Negma and Quauhtli decided that he would make a good companion, and only weeks after that-- he was chosen by the sapphire cluster lizard Kemrril as well.

Usually known just as Lyraek, she is a scarlet tca'ier who decided to take up residence at Tekaini Kiak along with her bonds a little more than two millenia ago. While she's probably fairly young for her kind, she have traveled a lot along with her bonds-- learning and exploring as well as doing the work of the entity that created her kind(although you're not likely to get an answer if you ask what it is). Not a person who talks much, Lyraek often prefer to observe from a distance, although she does have a strange sense of humor. For some unknown reason, her favorite food seems to be oranges, and at times she may also amuse herself by having oranges dropping own at unsuspecting people from no-where..

Melody is an intergalaxtic trader of human origin. She used to be an ordinary Earth girl and successful photographer, until the impression of gold Pernese dragon, Nileth. She then started traveling all around the galaxsy as a trader, until she landed on Dark Planet. There, she met a very special sorcerer named Rhys. So, they started traveling the galaxsy together and got married back on Earth. Now, Melody and Rhys have settled down a little on Dark Planet with a set of twins, Rhede and Myria.

Anne - well, I have been working on her - here's what I have so far.

Human but with obvious elven ancestry somewhere in the not-too-distant past. Anne is about 5'5' and slender, but muscular. Shoulder-length reddish brown hair and green eyes. Apparent age - early 30's human years.

As far as Anne's skills - think D&D rangerish things. Empathy and a minor sort of telepathy. Minor magics concerning outdoorsy things and animals. (not too definite, I know, but I am working )

Anne lives on an island in sub-tropical waters on the planet Earth. A very large, comfortable hold area has been constructed with accomodations for bonds and visitors of all types.

Anne is very friendly, but shy (like most of us) until she gets to know someone. She feels very comfortable around "creatures" of all types and around "creature people". Think of her as a sort of militant hippie-chick - she's very determined to protect all living things and the Earth.

Anne two sons - Drew (10) and Lan (8) - Drew is tall, dark and exuberant. Lan is tall, light, and quiet. They both are bonded to several creatures and are "coming out" into our roleplaying universe. If you visit Anne's Island, you will come into contact with Nell and Thom, an older couple who are pretty much Anne's right (and left) hands.

Space Cowboy-Oldest in age of my characters. Family patriarch. Stands roughly 6'10" tall, and weighs around 300 pounds. Human representative to Toolarulura's world council, and lives on the south face of Toolarulura's Western Donegal mountain range. He actually lives alone except for his bonds.

Jeff the Bear-second oldest of my characters. Stands 6'3" tall and weighs around 300 pounds, and is the one closest to my RL physical appearance. Leader of Bear's Valley which is between the Western and Eastern Donegal ranges. Bear's Valley is in the shape of two bear paw prints sitting side by side, and is the second largest human community on Toolarulura.

Kellie-Youngest overall of my characters she is the niece of the preceeding characters, and daughter of the following. She is outdoorsy and stands around 5'9" tall. She lives on Toolarulura's largest island of Eire which contains the largest communities of humans on Toolarulura.

John Irish-Youngest of the three brothers he spends most of his life at sea sailing and exploring. He is also the shortest at 4'11", and built like a fictional dwarf.

Rosie McGray-Cousin of all my other characters.

Toolarulura- One of the twin habitable worlds of the star Veristala. The other is Tejas. The two worlds orbit a common center, and unlike many paired worlds also rotate on their center point axis. Toolarulura is 2/3 water with two major continents containing 70% of the land and numerous archipelagoes. The western continent is a rounded romboid shape centered on the equator, and contains roughly 30% of the continental land mass. The eastern continent is roughly boomarang shaped with the western arm blunted. Two subcontinents similar to India impact on the western arm one to the south of the arm and one due west. These created the Eastern and Western Donegal ranges which limit access to the subcontinents. The western arm is mostly in the northern Hemisphere and the eastern arm and southern subcontinent are predominately in the southern. The Killarney archipelago sits randomly off of the tip of the southern subcontinent. The Romzeale archipelago connects the northeastern tip of the western continent with the eastern continent. There are three other major archipelagoes. One that sits across the southern polar region, one that sits north to south between the two continents on the eastern side of the eastern continent. And finally one that sits off the south coast of the western continent.

Faizah is a friendly woman, with a big heart. She can't stand to see any being in pain or alone, which has lead to her overly large 'collection' of creatures. Lately, she's not been attending many hatchings, at least not with a view to impress. Instead, she's been sending her younger siblings (brothers A'liz, T'em, and sister Ellinara) to hatchings in her stead.

One Pony (main poster) live on an unnamed planet (so far) and has learned at her Grandmother knee the healing and magic talents that runs hotly in the family as did her sibs. Her family were nomads living off the land and selling livestock and horses. Most of her family died of plague and the surviors united to form a new clan. Those that were orphans were adopted into the clan with families or if family members were found could adopt them. One Pony the oldest her sister Bright Feather and thier brother Storm Dancer were taken in by thier Grandmother a seemingly ageless woman. Tragedy struck again as raiders fell upon the small comunity where they lived. Their Grandmother died protecting the children of the comnuity as did many of the adults. One Pony had made a promise to care for her siblings and has done so. Thier brother returned to the clans when he came of age. Now in adulthood the sisters have fallen into being healers in high demand and leaders of the now famed Fire Ranch

Hey i'm back and heres my peeps.

Kitarna Elmira:

Kit is an elven girl of unknown age. She was once the Guardian of her world but has now past that title and everything that goes with it on to her twin sister who was long thought dead. She has two daughters and a son. She's 5' 3" with long black hair down to her bum. She has the silver eyes that all Elves of Gaia share. Her main bond is the High Queen L&D Realm Silver Dragon Queen Neirlth.

Neko Elmira:

The half sister of Kit and full sister of Nekor. She lives in the Shadow valley with what is left of the Elmira Clan. Her and her Brother are part of the scout gaurdians who keeps the Clan safe from the creatures who would do them harm. Because she and her brother were born in the Valley they have very dark skin unlike the elders who have the normal pale skin of elves but she does have the silver eyes of her kind. Her main bond is a Rustic Elven Dragon called Lota.

Nekor Elmira:

The Half brother of Kit and full brother of Neko. He also lives in the valley and helps his sister to protect the valley. He, like his sister, is dark skined and has the silver eyes of their kind. He is quieter then his sister. His Main bond is a Vampire Unicorn called Jeva.

Elta, Orla and Rohan Elmira:

Elta, Orla and Rohan are Kitarna's children. Elta and Orla are twins and both are 10 yrs old. Rohan is 8. Elta and Orla are both the product of a god's unhealthy fasionation with Kit. He took her unwillingly and hope to porduce a son with enough power to kill the other gods. But instead The female gods changed the growing child into twins and then the sex to female. Elta has black hair with silver at the tips while Orla has silver hair with black at the tips. Both have silver eyes. Elta's main bond is a gold Flit called Rose. Orla's main bond is a gold filt called Rela. Rohan was born 2 years later. He was concived the same way as his sisters but Kit left her world before Rohan was born. He was born with the help of the People of the Fire Ranch and her friends. He has fire-red hair and silver eyes. His main bond is an Elven wolf called Rake.

Nienya Elmira:

Nienya is the lost twin sister of Kitarna. She was thought dead as during a battle she was shot with an arrow in the chest. After the battle her body wasn't found and the clan was heart broken. Before the clan came to claim the bodies of their people the goddesses took Nienya and sent her to Earth to be reborn. They did this so that she would learn the way of humans and to protect her from the male god that wanted to use Kit. When on earth she turned 18 she dreamed of a world that wasn't earth and woke up in a clearing. Since then she has remebered her past and who she was and has taken the title of Guardian from her sister and all the powers that come with it. As of yet she has no bonds of her own.

Ignatius Taluria Johnson
Preferably known as Taluria or Tal

A starship pilot and sometime resident of the multiverse.
This young woman is somewhat short and a bit plump. Her hair is about shoulder-length and wavy. Most of the time it is brownish red, but sometimes it is green. She has pale grey eyes and freckles scattered across her nose and cheeks. She is odd, and often random, but can be very caring and sweet.

Tal often tries to hide her other, less positive feelings behind a smile and a quirky comment. Don't be fooled... the harder she tries, the more upset she really is. She has recently become slightly more reticent and withdrawn from the multiverse.

She has some magical powers, including limited shape-shifting ability and touch of telepathy.
She can also teleport almost anywhere in the multiverse in a flash of green light.

Her ship is named the Cricket, and is literally bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside, it has been modified by Tal and some of her family members to be able to have over 300 acres of space in the compartments, all landscaped, so that if she wishes, she can bring most of her bonded creatures to keep an eye on them and have them keep an eye on her.



George Xara Johnson

Tal's younger sister, their parents obviously had an odd sense of humor when it came to names...
Is most often quiet and tries to be unobtrusive. She has curly, dark brown hair and pale grey eyes that match her sister's. She is about three or four years younger than Tal. She is becoming slightly more outgoing as she matures.

Xara has some magic powers but they have yet to surface. (she has recently learned to teleport in a flicker of silver light, without Tal's knowledge.)

Has less bonded critters than Tal.

Physical Description: A girl of medium height, she is marginally plump with long, vivid red hair that is usually pulled back into a bun. She has fair skin with a few freckles on her face and arms. Her eyes are an odd, silvery-grey with flecks of green in them
Personality: Danea is quiet, and seems to be the exact opposite of the stereotypical greenrider. She gets extremely shy around men, often stammering and/or dropping and spilling things. She can be a bit stubborn, but often acts as though she is afraid someone will hit her if she does something wrong. She tends to spend her time alone, reading or drawing.
History Not much is known about Danea's past, since she tends to keep to herself, but it is evident that at some point, someone hurt her enough so that she is still nervous.

Dragon: Green Jylith
Dragon Description: Pale green shading to darker green on her lower legs, tail, nose, and wings. She is about mid-size, with a longer, thinner tail than most other greens
Dragon Personality: Outgoing, mischevous, in most ways she is the opposite of her rider, and tries to get Danea to be more outgoing and open with others, especially men.

The Crew on the Ark
The Ark project started as an excape plan for four nobles on the planet Camethol. Diamond Zenzede, the planet's future ruler, wanted to find a place where he'd be free to love Chorda the SilverVoiced, a tallented singer who was a peasant and thus, forbidden. Diamond's cousin Anekke, a shy and studious young woman, wanted to leave her restrictive parents who were trying to saddle her with a husband, especially after she discovered her formerly latent psychic powers. Kierval Van, Diamond's best friend, wanted adventure instead of a boring job in the planet's government, and Pradia Ording, Kierval's spoiled and somewhat empty-headed lover, vowed to go anywhere with him. The four young nobles pooled their financial resources and purchased the Ark, an aging but still spaceworthy vessil that would be big enough to accomadate both them and the various creatures they hoped to collect on their voyage, for all shared a love for strange, curious, and endearing animals. They left their planet soon afterword, accompanied not only by Chorda but also by Sylvaro, a young mechanical genius, and his friend Ember, a tech whiz and fugitive from justice. Along the way the Ark has picked up several others: Enigma (Nen) an aggressive and mysterious young woman, Reddora a child stowaway, Nilo Farlo the ox expert from Lumm, Caleb and Collin lovers and vets, and F'rol and Katlyn, a pair of Pernese dragonriders bored with star-watching. This large group of friends and their ever growing menagerie has been roving space for nearly three years now.

Dorval

A Bit of History
It is unusual for a creature to give its’ name to the planet of its’ birth, but this is what happened in the case of the Dorval dragons. At the dawn of time, dragons were the predominant life form of the planet now known as Dorval, but a new humanoid species arose and hunted them almost to extinction. In grief, the few remaining dragons withdrew to a valley high in the mountains, until such time as the humanoid species should gain sufficient wisdom to refrain from hunting them. Their home was known as the Vale Dormant, and many tried to reach it, until finally it, and the dragons, became the stuff of legend. Many millennia later the dragons deemed that the humanoid species had reached an acceptable level of civilisation, and made themselves known once more. In grief at what their ancestors had done, the humanoids changed the name of their planet so that no-one would forget the near-tragic history of the dragons.

Then the planet found itself under alien attack. This was, in fact, the work of a single renegade mage from the planet Ghardom. He very soon over-reached himself, and was apprehended and disciplined by his peers, but his fleet were not aware of this at the time. The now wholly pacifist natives of Dorval (both human and draconic) were at a loss how to defend themselves, and it was actually the chocolate cats that saved the day. These were a race of dimension-hopping felines who had been visiting Dorval for some time and had learned to respect its inhabitants. As the alien fleet reached orbit and began to bombard selected targets on the surface, the chocolate cats simply turned all incoming missiles into chocolate. This mostly burned up in the atmosphere, though a little fell as a sort of cocoa-powder rain. Eventually, puzzled and out of ammunition, the enemy fleet retreated to their planet of origin, where they were dealt with by the ruling council of mages.

Friendly relations were then established between Dorval and Ghardom. Many cultural exchanges took place, and the intelligent species of both planets spent much time visiting with each other, or indeed settled on each other’s planets.

The Characters
Linmag and her family and friends are natives of Dorval. They are a space-faring race, and at some time in their past there has been contact with Pern, as there is a thriving weyr of pure-bred Pernese dragons, as well as an almost completely distinct race of sport dragons (and flits) who are clearly of Pernese descent. The rest of the structure of their society is also strongly reminiscent of Pern though, given their extended lifespan, relationships tend to be either not very long-term or not exclusive.

Dorvallans are humanoid in appearance. There is a strong strain of elf blood in them, though from so long ago that they no longer consider themselves elvish. They are tall (2m is not unusual), usually quite slight of build, and very long-lived. A 200-400 year lifespan would be average, and they remain active and vigorous almost to the end. (I tend to translate ages to terran equivalents during RP.) They have no body hair, and the hair on their head varies enormously in texture and colour. It can be as fine as terran human hair, or as thick as string or thin rope. It can even be broad and flat, like tape, and textured. It is not unusual to find a mixture of textures in a single head of hair. Dorvallans are very sensitive to the natural world around them, and the colour of their skin and hair will usually adapt to suit their surroundings or life-style. These adaptations are not hereditary, and if a person changes their lifestyle or location they will begin to show signs of adaptation almost immediately. All Dorvallans are very sensitive psychically and all are telepathic to a greater or lesser degree.

Desert Dwellers
All have a protective nasal filter to allow them to breathe even in a sandstorm, and a third eyelid to protect them from the sun’s glare, dark skin and pale hair.
Jimiyu has ebony skin and pure white hair, short and felt-like.
Zuwena has dark chocolate skin and creamy short straight hair that sticks straight up from her head. It glitters slightly in the sun, as if tiny grains of sand are trapped in it, reflecting the sun’s rays.

Water Dwellers
Often have a bluish-green tinge to their skin and greatly increased webbing between fingers and toes. Those who spend a lot of time in the water develop gills in the side of their neck that permit them to breathe underwater.
Orton has pale blue skin, gills, and pronounced webbing to his fingers and toes. His hair is shoulder-length, dark blue-green, and resembles knobbly seaweed.
Lanella has pale blue-green skin. She also has gills, and her waist-length hair is dark sea-green and falls in flat ribbon-like fronds. Underwater it undulates like sea grass.

Forest Dwellers
May have greenish or brownish or bark-like skin, and hair that resembles leaves. The elf blood runs strongest in these retiring folk, who are rarely seen unless they wish to be.
Malaron has mid-brown skin with a roughish texture, far-seeing green eyes and shoulder-length hair the colours and shapes of autumn leaves.
Ethril has silvery skin, like birch bark, and short hair like catkins.

Ghardom (very much a work in progress)

A Bit of History
Under the guardianship of a Council of Mages, whose leadership is rotated every 30 years. The leadership has just changed. The previous incumbent, Varnan, was not a strong leader, preferring to spend his time in his laboratory. Under his leadership Zordriq was able to attempt the creation of several evil species and to raise an army to invade a neighbouring world. When this was discovered, Varnan was asked to step down as leader, and Zordriq was disciplined and his army disbanded. Some tried to oppose the accession of Astilberin, whose turn it was next to be leader, on the grounds of his extreme youth (a mere 150 years), but as he was almost single-handedly responsible for unmasking Zordriq this opposition was not successful. The guardians have not taken a very active part in the development of their world for several hundred years, as they generally keep to their own continent. It is Astilberin’s intention to be much more ‘hands-on’, and he has started by setting up exploratory missions to the other continents to catalogue the creatures currently inhabiting Ghardom, and particularly to find out if any other than the humanoids (non-mages who populate the other four continents) are sentient.

The Characters
All mages are shape-shifters, though they tend to have one favourite shape that they shift to, and very long-lived.
Astilberin
Current leader of the Council of Mages. Tall, wiry, with unkempt black hair. Shape-shifts to an oversized black raven.
Kalisse
Magess of the younger faction, with long blond hair. Shape-shifts to a white panther.
Mahneron
Older mage who supported Astilberin. Shape-shifts to a large grey dog.
Valhannah
Magess, one of those originally opposed to Astilberin’s accession, but prepared to give him chance to prove himself. Has dark auburn curls and shape-shifts to a small, bright pink bat.
Varnan
Former leader of the Council of Mages. Shape-shifts to a bay stallion.
Zordriq
Evil mage, responsible for the creation of several new species, though none of them turned out quite as he expected. Shape-shifts to a large golden lion.

Chocolate CatsThese cats are originally from the 42nd dimension. (The one that has the answer to life, the universe and everything!) On their home planet, many of the rivers, and all the decorative fountains run chocolate, which makes it a very popular tourist destination for the rest of the galaxy. It is thought that the cats found their home world too overcrowded, and chose to move to other dimensions for a little peace and quiet.
Chocolate cats retain the ability to visit their home dimension, and the adults have the ability to change small objects into chocolate. They are very strong empaths, and always know when their bond-mate is in need of chocolate. On such occasions they will provide small gifts of chocolate, often a chocolate mouse. (These are an acquired taste, as they come complete with chocolate fur and chocolate innards! With tact and patience, however, they can be persuaded to provide more palatable offerings.) After an association of several years, they become strong enough to take their bond-mate with them on their inter-dimensional travels. If the bond is particularly strong, the bond-mate may at this time become able to shape-shift into feline form, and the cat into a form resembling the race of its bond mate.

Gianduja
Bonded to Linmag. Looks a lot like a reverse Siamese cat with a dark chocolate body, four creamy-coloured paws and a lighter tip to her tail. She has a creamy muzzle, but only one of her ears is cream-coloured, the other is the same dark chocolate colour as the rest of her body. While by no means overweight, Gianduja’s form is a lot more rounded than the average Siamese.

In her Dorvallan form, she is a tall, graceful young woman with long chocolate brown hair through which her feline ears can be seen, one still cream coloured, one brown. Her amber eyes retain more than a hint of their feline shape, and in speech she tends to roll her ‘r’s.

[Wizz]

(it's been a long while since i've 'played' with my characters, so they haven't aged :razz: annd.. i don't really have as detailed an idea about them as other have of theirs :eekSanta )

Wizz - 24 year old girl with light brown hair and silver streaks framing her green eyes & face. She has a surprisingly short stature for her paternal elven heritage. Her manner is generally reserved and guarded until she gets to know you. Mynca is her long-lost sister, reunited with her one christmas. She dabbles in magic, but leaves the majority of magical workings to her bonds, companions and sister. She is single.

Mynca - 26 year old girl with blonde hair and silver streaks framing her face, and throughout the rest of her hair, making it almost shimmer when the light hits at the right angle. Her sappire blue eyes twinkle with humour and hidden knowledge, and her medium-tall stature befits her paternal elven heritage. She has a gentle and peaceful nature, but is fiercely loyal to her friends, bonds and companions. She is adept in magical workings, but has been known to have a few 'accidents' occasionally. Wizz is her long-lost sister. This girl is enamoured with Butch (Dragonlover's character.. i forget what her other characters were named :sorry: )

Vince - 25 year old boy with sandy brown hair and chestnut brown eyes. He has a medium-tall stature, and is unrelated by blood to Mynca & Wizz, although they treat him as a brother because of the close friendship he had with Mynca as they were growing up. He has a gentle and carefree nature, is playful whenever possible, and will go to any lengths for a friend. And even while he's living with the sisters, magic still awes him.. even when he apparently has a latent talent for healing that he's not aware of yet ;) This boy has given his heart to Nanooka (Nanooka's character), annd.. i'm not sure if he knows he has a son yet or not :eekSanta

Clarissa - 15 year old Unicentus (own creation), with long white hair and bright blue eyes. She has the appearance of a centaur, her equine half being that of a strong clydesdale, but from her forehead sprouts a small spiralled glistening horn, and on her equine back lay folded wings of brown and speckled white. Her horn and wings are rarely seen, as she keeps them hidden beneath a large hooded cloak/blanket, fastened at her waist with a silver buckle. She has a timid and gentle nature, always graceful, yet ready for battle in a heartbeat - her life prior to meeting the sisters & Vince being one she's trying leave behind, yet return to at the same time. She is never without her leather vest, bow and quivver of arrows. She is single.

[Teh Crazy Dragoness]

Name: Arwenth

Age: Unknown

Race: Draconian (Mage-class)

Gender: Female

Appearance: In her natural form, Arwenth is a man-sized, heavily-muscled dragon. Her scales are an opalescent silver, and the pair of horns that sprout just behind her horse-like ears are short, and storm-grey in color. Her belly scales, and her wing membranes, are a pale pinkish hue.

In her human form, Arwenth is a short, slender young woman. Her eyes are stormy grey, and her hair is cut short, and a brilliant red color, which fades to black at the tips.

Personality: To sum it in one phrase, Arwenth is scatter-brained. Very scatter-brained. She is sweet and kind, but her temper has a short fuse. Once she is mad, it takes awhile to calm her down.

She tends to be a bit flighty and giggly most of the time, even moreso when nervous.

She loves animals, draconics, felines, and equinines being her favorites.

Name: Xaeranth (Xae)

Age: Unknown (older than Arwenth)

Race: Draconian (Shadow-class)

Gender: Male

Appearance: Unlike his sister, Xaeranth's dragon form is neither man-sized, nor compact. Fifty feet long, and covered from snout tip to tail tip in pure black scales, Xaeranth is the manifestation of a Draconian nightmare. Behind a pair of pointed ears sprout scythe shaped horns, as deep a black as his scales. From a point just above his eyes to the very tip of his tail are a line of spikes, as sharp as needles, yet not very long.

His human form appears slightly older than Arwenth's. He is pale skinned, almost as if he has never seen the light of day, and has long black hair that hangs down to his waist, and is usually tied back. He typically wears a black tank top and black jeans.

Personality: Despite the stigma of evil associated with Shadow dragons, Xaeranth is neither wholly evil nor wholly good. He takes an apathetic approach to life most of the time, preferring to get involved with few individuals, viewing the effort needed to maintain relationships as wasteful. A few have proven to be interesting enough to Xaeranth for him to become friends with him, the most noted of which is his little sister Arwenth.

After seeing how his sister interacted with her bonds, he has become somewhat interested in accquiring a few of his own.

History: Xaeranth and his sister, Arwenth, are the children of a pair of slightly deranged Draconian Mages. The two mages, and the clan that followed them, wished to bring back the long-gone Shadow-class Draconians. This class had been eradicated because one Shadow managed to get almost every single other Shadow to follow him to the goal of ruling the universe.

Draconians are similar to Pernese dragons, in that every male and female carries the genetic information for every class. They differ in that the information for a particular class can be bred out of them, by restricting breeding with Draconians of that class. With a little genetic tinkering, the Mages were able to produce Shadow-class children. Xaeranth and Arwenth were the first children produced by the clan. Arwenth was regarded as a failure, and was virtually ignored by the clan.

Xaeranth was taught to use his magic by the clan, and hailed as a sort of prince by the clan. His apathetic nature led him to tire quickly of the clan's plans and goals, and he left the Draconian Empire, his sister going with him. They have stuck together throughout their lives, though from watching Xaeranth, one might believe he cared nothing for his sister.

Name: Seyristith

Age: 36

Race: Draconian (Shadow-class)

Gender: Female

Appearance: Similiar to Xae's natural form, Seyr's is a solid black dragon, capable of blending into the shadows completely, as long as she keeps her bright blue eyes closed. Being so young, Seyr is much smaller than her elder siblings, only six feet long from snout to tail tip. She is unusually slender for one of her kind, which suits her lifestyle well. She has a twelve foot wingspan, but can fold her wings tightly to her body, to give the appearance of being much smaller than she actually is.

In her human form, she appears as a petite, pale young teenager, always clothed in dark shades, usually black, but sometimes grey. Straight black hair frames her face; she keeps her hair trimmed to just above her shoulders. While her eyes are a bright, almost shining, blue whilst in her dragon form, while in her human form, they darken somewhat. Whether this is a natural effect of her transformation, or an effect created by magic, only Seyr knows. Whilst in her human form, she has a shadowy aura around her which helps her blend into darker areas, and make her harder to notice. In brighter conditions, she drops the spell.

Personality: Seyristith is a rather sneaky individual by nature, preferring to stay hidden if at all possible. Since leaving her homeworld, she has walked the loner's path, making her way in the universe as a thief. Dealing with people is, in her opinion, a waste of time. She hates confrontation, and carries no weapons, relying on her ability to hide and flee.

She follows her own set of morals and honor code, and hates thieving. She could find no one who would help her, no one who would take her in when she fled her home world, and had no choice but to live outside the law. She's had limited contact with her elder sister, Arwenth, and her sister's cheerful demeanor has somewhat rubbed off on her, as she tries to keep an optimistic outlook, though she doesn't always succeed. She dreams of the day when she has enough savings to pay for the things she needs, the day when she'll no longer have to live as a thief.

History: One of the last children of her clan, Seyristith was forced to flee her homeworld at the age of twenty to avoid capture and imprisonment, or even execution. She spent several years looking for a new home, and during this time, she supported herself by working for whoever needed her particular talents. Working as an assassin for those who needed it, she refined the talents for her life as a thief.

Seyr has lived the past ten years as a thief, wandering the universe.

Notes: Just using Seyr as a charrie for SE's roleplay here. Not too sure about using her in a bonding RP.

It's been ages since I've played these guys with any regularity... Time to dust them off! :)

Mist - a young, though mature, woman of 20, Mist left a difficult family life at a young age to find a life of her own. She soon found it, out on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere, about 4 hours straight flight off the Kerivian Coast on the planet of Alavar. She set up a home on the island for the bonds she'd made, then spent her time going between bondings and hatchings and improving her home. Overall she's much happier in her new situation, especially since her twin sister, Sharia, found her and joined her on her island, the home of the sister's ever increasing menagerie. She doesn't talk about her family or home - other than her sister, that is - at all, choosing to keep the past in the past. Her name, Mist, is not even her birth name, which she keeps as closely guarded to her as her past.
Mist has grown to be tall, slender woman, with brown hair falling just past her shoulders, and blue eyes. Her complexion is lightly tanned, and she has a dusting of freckles across her nose, bought out by increased time in the sun.
Mist, after training extensively, can create and manipulate both water and ice. She's also telepathic with her bonds.

Sharia - a young, though mature, woman of 20, Sharia is the older twin sister, with Mist being minutes younger. As the oldest, even by mere minutes, Sharia was made heir to the throne of Saoria, a kingdom of Alavar. After her sister left when they were young, Sharia slowly felt the pressure placed on her by her parents and almost everyone else she knew until she came to breaking point. Taking a chance when it presented itself, Sharia left, making her way west across the mountains to Kerivia. There she found the Astral Dragons, long since driven from Saoria and found her place amongst them, bonding with a newly hatched Opal called Loureniam Solrasiul. Soon after she continued west, finding Mist to both of their surprise. She settled in easily with her twin sister, even after many years apart, and now makes only a few, though regular, trips back to the mainland to visit the Astral Dragons and her family. She also contributes to the menagerie that are their bonds.
Sharia grew to be as tall as her twin, with the same slender build and face shape, similar in most physicalities. While she has the same blue eyes and a similar complexion, though not so tanned or freckled because of less time spent outdoors, there is one difference between them. While Mist has brown hair, Sharia's is golden blonde, though cut in a similar style and length.
Sharia doesn't have any magic skill, relying on her bonds should she need it. She's telepathic with her bonds, and slightly empathich.

Tarcaion - an elf of unknown age, Tarcaion is basically a wanderer. Long since leaving his homeland, he has been travelling for some years from place to place with his loyal Silver Wolf Stormsong, never staying in one place for long. He has other bonds - 7 others in total - but hasn't tended towards settling down long enough to raise many to a maturity required for travelling mostly in the wilderness.
He is tall and lightly built, though strong, with blond hair restrained in elven fashion and dark green eyes, with a semi-pale complexion. Not much is known about his history or where he came from, as he seems to live for the present rather than what he may have left behind.
Tarcaion is proficient in woodcraft, and knows a small amount of healing magic. He can also create some small, useful things such as a length of rope.

Ishala - in her late thirties, Ishala is the owner of the Sharn Valley Horse Ranch, on the planet of Shalnari. She breeds Shalnari horses, and is almost wholly dedicated to those of equine nature. Rarely leaving the Ranch, she has been to some bondings - she has 12 bonds including a palamino Shalnari, Morning Star - though she prefers to stay amongst her horses. She's held one successful bonding with foals from the Ranch when the equine population there was finally stable, which went off without a hitch.
Ishala is of average height and medium build. Wavy hair of a mahogany red-brown coloured reaches just past her shoulders, framing an oval face in which are set brown eyes. Ishala grew up on a similar Ranch owned by her parents before buying the land on which Sharn Valley Horse Ranch sits, forming the ranch which would, within years, become a successful ranch in it's own right.
Ishala is slightly telepathic, and very empathic with those in her care.

Ch'ral (Main Persona)
Ch'ral started 'life' as a Pernese Human but do to various matters it is not entirely certain what he is now.
Ch'ral owns a planet, Torruse, outright and uses it as a 'farm' for all his bonds as well as an orgnaisational headquarters for the Chrononaughts, a time-travelling organisation.

Chares, Mad Mage
Chares is the sole human-ish inhabitant of an unnamed planet where he spends his time creating spells and outrageous creatures like the Clay Pigeon, Doobrie and Rocket Powered Turbo Slug.
On occassion he also helps Ch'ral, indeed it was with Chares' help that the Fiend Dragon was created for Clan Fiend.

[Madrigal]

On this board, I mostly just use:

Madrigal: stylized, magic-using version of me. Rider of Lyrath, a gold who is about the size of one of the original greens. Other bonds of mine that are liable to show up are the Pernese queens Faith, Kirith, and Haliath; bronzes Nalluth, Ergath, Keith and Pelirth; green Tamarath; the pearl sport queen Tsiath; the blue and silver sport Xaith; and pretty much anything in the “Lyrath” link in my signature.

Ara: a very old, very powerful mage. Her bonds are the Star Dragons Cordelia (Ice) and Kael (Silver). She’s also been known to take other younglings under her care until they’re grown enough to fend for themselves, but they rarely stay beyond maturity. She changes her appearance when bored, but always stays human.

Ceryn: after losing her first bond, the Star Dragon (Ice) Linnea, in a rockslide, Ceryn lived in a remote village for several years. She accompanied a young boy, Kell, to Tekaini Kiak in Sjirra for a Hatching, and came away with a scarlet Sjirran winterdragon by the name of Dawn Sky, who intends to stay with her for a decade or two.

Personality:
Usually even-tempered but can get very angry when provoked. Likes to help others, especially races in danger of extinction. Is a "fence-sitter" in most arguments unless she feels very strongly, either way, about the topic.
History:
The child of a human/snow leopard mother and a human/Kygon father. When she was a child, Kymera's shape-shifting was a problem as she tended to shift uncontrollably depending on her mood. When angry she'd become a Kygon, when afraid, the snow leopard. Her teenage years were the worst. The hormones flooding her body caused severe mood swings, which were further exacerbated by the triggering of her dormant telepathy and empathy. By 18 the changes had settled down and Kymera began her training as a conservationist, first with Mergaran creatures, then with aliens. At 23 the training was completed and she left Mergara to explore for a while. A teacher on an unknown world taught Kymera to use her latent teleport talents as well as enhance the telepathic/ empathic ability.

Species: Nocturnal Humanoid (unnamed species)
Age: Around 18

Info: Riona is a member of a race of nocturnal humanoids. Basically, she's human, but quite pale-skinned, with large, reflective eyes--not bug-eyed or even anime-eyed, but it should definitely be noticeable. Her hair is close-cropped and darkly colored, specifically auburn, and her eyes are a catlike shade of yellow-green, complete with the particularly deep lenses cat eyes have (however, the pupils are round, like a human's). Although she can withstand daylight, she's likely to get a nasty sunburn from it, and it will hurt her eyes unless she squints and stares at the ground. As a result of being nocturnal, she also has very acute senses of hearing and smell. Being nocturnal, though, doesn't mean that complete darkness is comfortable for her. There needs to be some light present, or she simply can't see. Where she's from, magic is pretty common, but she personally doesn't use it, perhaps because she can't--at least not intentionally.

Background: Riona's life has thus far been pretty standard for her race, apart from one particular oddity. She had ordinary parents and showed promise of excelling in an ordinary career, working to help build homes where they lived. Unfortunately for her, she seems affected by some sort of wild magic, and occasionally ends up in places she may rather not be before reappearing safe and sound at home again. She has no control over this, and it may in fact have nothing to do with her at all, since her home has a lot of rogue nonhuman spirits.

Thanks to being a member of her race, Riona has some very strange fears, at least to someone diurnal. She is, for instance, terrified of humans. In the same way that they might confuse a member of her race for something like a vampire (which is far from the truth, as she and her race are normal omnivores, much like humans), she has misconceptions about humans that may cause her to picture them as monsters. In fact, many things that roam the daylight terrify her, including harmless herbivores. Furthermore, while she is unsettled by complete darkness in the same way many humans are, she is equally frightened to be out in bright light, because without protective eyegear, she will be overwhelmed by it and can't see well at all. Some of these fears are due to feeling helpless. Others have more to do with things she has been told or has overheard at home. Yet, because of her tendency to randomly appear in weird places, often at strange hours, for her, she often has to confront these fears.

Info: Shari isn't really a traditional Tolkien elf. Essentially she's not as strong or as tall as a human. Neither is she so light you'll find her running along the top of snow. However, she is rather long-lived, and she also ages a bit slower than humans do. She has very keen senses, as well as the traditional pointy ears and slanted eyes. Specifically speaking, her eyes and hair are brown. The eyes specifically are rather dark; her hair is a medium shade, and is also curly and frequently looks like she just got struck by lightning. The one thing she really has going for her as an elf is an innate sense for magic. Unfortunately, Shari is easily distracted, which has led to a lot of mixed-up spells. You'll most often find her wearing a white trainee's robe and a white cloak (both considerably oversized for her height and build), and she carries a staff carved with an enlongated, stylized griffin. The way she talks about it, it may be sentient and they may be able to communicate somehow, or she may just be eccentric. Either way, this magical implement is taller than she is.

Background: Shari wasn't born in the forest like most stereotypical elves. She was born in the city, and is rather proud of it. She considers herself a fine metropolitan young lady, and never you mind that her appearance and her ridiculous efforts at etiquette rarely live up to her own beliefs about herself. At the equivalent of human age 13 (approximately 20 or so in actual years), she decided to take up a traditional elven occupation in the city, and was apprenticed to one Master Edgar. Ever since then, Master Edgar has considered her a bit of a headache, when he isn't busy privately laughing at her mishaps. It isn't that Shari is clumsy; perhaps it's more that she simply tries too hard to achieve her goals. Either way, the more she attempts to please, the more she has failed, and ten years after becoming Master Edgar's apprentice, she's little closer to advancing her status beyond the apprentice stage than when she first began.

Info: Ferret is another of Master Edgar's apprentices and is Shari's best friend. Her hair is a dark brown shade, straight and kept pulled back into a sleek braid. Her eyes are a pale green shade. Despite being hyper and easily distracted, much like her namesake, Ferret is actually competent and doesn't tend to forget or mistake her spells. Like Shari, she also talks to her staff, which is composed of a reddish hardwood and carved with a stylized phoenix. She calls it Marcus. Marcus is about six feet tall, which is considerably taller than Ferret. As for her name, it's actually a nickname; her real one is Liza. Good luck getting her to tell you that though. Incidentally, part of her hyperactive personality might be due to her rather strong preference for sweets over other, healthier foods.

The talking-to-your-staff thing is pretty common among Edgar's apprentices, and the staves do appear to have minds of their own. This only reinforces the eccentric behavior.

Background: Ferret didn't show a whole lot of magical promise throughout the start of her life, but Master Edgar was her grandfather and insisted on taking her on as an apprentice. Prior to her apprenticeship at the age of 12, she spent most of her time being sent on errands by her shopkeeping parents. She often got sweets as a reward, and developed a taste for them that still hasn't worn off. The side effect of hyperness was one easily dealt with by sending her on another errand. However, those times there were no errands to send her on, her parents and siblings were driven a bit mad by her antics, and so finally, despite feeling she lacked the talent, they agreed to send her to be apprenticed to her grandfather, Master Edgar. She surprised everyone by being a competent and promising pupil. She lacks the natural talent to be a truly great mage, but all evidence indicates she'll be a good one.

Info: Ritmer is a rather generic human. He has sandy-colored hair and dark green eyes. He looks a bit younger than his age, and shows no sign of growing a beard. Thanks to staying indoors most of the time, his skin is not tanned. It is, however, a medium shade. Despite his age, he can often be quite mature. A bit introverted and not really the outdoors type, he spends more time with books than with people. As a result, he doesn't always exercise what could be considered common sense. Perhaps because of his lack of physical strength, he seems to feel that he has something to prove. He will wander even the most dangerous forest with little fear, even if there are known fairy rings and ancient transport gates in the area, just to prove that he can make it back out alive.

Background: Ritmer is a cityboy scholar at heart, even if he was born into a large family living in the country. In a world full of magic (maybe even Shari's world), Ritmer apparently lacks any arcane skill at all, despite his keen intelligence. Everyone else in his family has at least some magical talent, and most of them chose more physical career paths. His mother and father are both farmers, and two of his brothers are smiths. Ritmer decided to become a scholar instead, and proved diligent enough that the local librarians humored his wish and even fostered it. It has even been arranged for him to attend the nearest city's famous university by those same librarians. The main concern of both the university and the librarians is that Ritmer will never learn any magical ability at all. Ritmer is completely determined to learn it somehow, even if he is not physically able. In fact, he's determined to prove to as many people as he can that he is not cowardly, weak, magically inept, or, well, anything else there could possibly be for him to prove. So far, all he has successfully proven is that he has little common sense and will only refuse the most outrageous dares.

Info: As a Fox-Kin, Coda may be mistaken for an Asian fox-spirit, such as a kitsune. She's not, as her basic form is humanoid, not fox or even anthro. She does, however, have the ability to transform into a fox--which not all of her people do. She is more akin to an elf, though her ears are mobile and foxlike, and she has pointed canines and claws. She doesn't have fur, or a tail, or any other distinctly animalian traits, but her hair is rust-colored, her eyes golden and with vertical-slit pupils. With a tendency to wear worn-out, drab clothing and be covered in ink due to copying tomes relating to history and magic, she definitely looks the part of a student. Willing to do just about anything if it means she can get away from her studies for a while, she's often found herself getting in over her head. It doesn't help things that she's a bit of a trickster, and none too shy, even though her kind have become rarer of late. Coda in particular has a gift with spirits. Though she is trained as a mage, she can't do many things other mages do, unless she can convince a spirit she knows to help her. This is unusual for Spirit-Kin, who are generally very proficient in magic, but it isn't unheard of, either. The really unusual thing is that she has any magical talent at all, even involving spirits, since she seems unable to draw on magic from nature or herself. It puzzles and frustrates Coda, especially since, being a spirit of sorts herself, she knows very well that summoning is dangerous business.

Background: Coda is one of the rare remaining full-blooded Fox-Kin. She was raised by humans, not other Spirit-Folk (or Fair Folk, if you prefer), which is fairly standard practice. Until she reached the age of about 18, she appeared to be a very average-looking human girl; gradually she began to take on the traits of a Fox-Kin. Her strange ability to understand spirits was discovered when she was 13, and she was apprenticed hastily as a mage. Unfortunately summoning was the only magic she ever showed any promise with, and even that took time to train properly. As a result, she was finally put on copying-duty. At the age of 22, she has only just been promoted to journeyman, and is well aware that unless she can suddenly gain new magical talents, she will never advance further. Spirits are dangerous even at the best of times--a fact she knows well, being one herself. Still, it's better than most people ever do; even some Spirit Folk never show magical talent at all, much less the vast number of humans. Even now, though, Coda can often be heard bemoaning the lack of a printing press at Central Hall, and she sometimes jokes that she will teach the messenger-birds known as shaltas to help her do her work. She'd rather be out doing things, or spending time chatting with spirits, than feeling she is chained to a seat with a pen. It's in her nature to be free, after all.

As you might have guessed from the three names and three respective functions, well, there are (at least) three of them, each different from the other, and each removed from the actual person behind them. That's about all there is to tell. Superheroes, after all, must maintain their secret identities. ;)

[Something Evil]

My Characters.

Character's name: Yanarid.
Race: terranian.
Gender: male.
Age: 9703 years.
Eyes: black.
HomeWorld: Sorolan.

Physical description: tall for a terranian, and quite lean but wiry of build, Yanarid still bears the marks of a rather long life despite of regular longevity treatment. While by no means weak by human standars-- numerous severe injuries throughout his life has left him relatively fragile, neither can he keep going for long in a mundane fight with a terranian fighter. Yanarid's hair is blue-black and is usualy cut at shoulder lenght, his eyes being the standard black of all terranians. Though mainly a dark chocolate brown, his skin does have a slight bronze tinge that's only realy noticeable in strong sunlight, as is the web of hair-thin scars from an encounter with an crystal mage centuries ago. If his facial features might be a bit too alien for the tastes of most humans, he's certainly handsome-- not too feminine and not too masculine(having had no lack of time to change things to his liking). With rare exceptions, he's not likely to give a genuine smile, the expression on his face generaly being carefully neutral(or cold in the case of students and other who doesn't do their work well enough).

Personality description: to Yanarid, magic is his life, and there is little else that he will allow to affect him or grow attached to. Likewise, in the past-- he has been likely to judge the capabilities of races and individuals based on their capasity to handle magic. Dealing with others he is quite polite, if often seeming rather cold, the few exceptions to this being Sevanenenth, his familiars and a handful of other magic-users. Basically, gaining his respect is not a easy matter, and gaining his trust and friendship is even harder. He's also quite a nightmare to his students and apprentices, teaching according to their needs and personality certainly, but showing no mercy when it comes to making sure that they will reach their full potential.

As a Mage of the Black Energy, Yanarid is first and foremost working towards increasing the influence of himself and the magic he serves throughout the Multiverse. However, at the same time he does understand the importance of balance-- power is all well and good, but without opposing forces, things would eventually deteriorate into the destruction of everything. Neither does he wish for his path of magic to go the way of all users of the Crystal Energy-- outlawed and hunted down the moment they were found. He has few qualms about using people certainly, but he's not someone to kill in anger or for the sake of killing, even a failed agent or enemy may be useful sometime in the future. As a Grand Mage, he's quite capable of killing in any number of ways, there's no need for constant reminders that may cause fear and eventual assassination attempts from others serving the Black Energy. There are also times when he has worked against his own people, to get someone or something that will be useful to him, and which he doesn't wish others to know that he has.

During his life, he has had no small number of casual relationships(females as well as males), some of which has resulted in children-- few of who he has much contact with. He has his duties, and their have theirs. To the mere two other magic-users he has remained in a serious relationship to though, he does allow himself to let down his guard and show a gentler side.

Dragons

Sevanenenth.
Age: 1587 years.
Color: bronze.
Species: zthlee dragon.
Personality: Sevanenenth is a huge bronze zthlee, possibly one of the largest dragons of his color ever. His hide is a bright coppery bronze only broken by this stripes of a much darker shade of bronze. He is not as muscular as some others of his kind, but his reasonably slender body are packed with wiry muscle and he have a huge set of wing-muscles which makes him look somewhat bulky in the chest-area, but gives him great speed and stamina in flight. After various training-lessons and fights he have gone through along with Yanarid, Sevanenenth also have a noticeable collection of silvery scars all over his body.

Description: definetly far more outgoing and easy to get along with than his rider, Sevanenenth are a dragon who's rather fond of speaking to anyone who care to listen. He have a quiet, although sometimes dark, sense of humor and will often come with sarcastic remarks to those he consider his friends, and neither do he really feel above playing jokes on someone. However, Sevanenenth have also been trained as a fighting dragon and have also been in several wars throughout the universe along with his rider, so he is a person it is unwise to get on the bad side of.


Suatheli.
Age: 15 years.
Color: topaz.
Species: linsthoth dragon.
Gender: female.
Physical description: still young at only five years, Suatheli has still to reach her full growth as a linsthoth dragon. Therefore she's still a bit chubby, not to forget that she does look a bit unfinished(head and some other body parts being out of propotion). Her scales are a bright reddish-topaz of color, and since she had mastered some very minor shape-changing, her eyes are currently green and cat-like.
Personality: adventorous and quite eager to learn new things(some would say annoyingly), Suatheli is not always the easiest company. Her choices may seem rather odd at times, for example when she chose a 9000+ years old as her person shortly after hatching. At times she may suffer from convenient bouts of deafness and run off on adventures at a whim. Though she has grown a bit more responsible and aware of the dangers she might encounter. However, even now, there are still times when she has to suffer through well deserved lectures.

Race: tellusian.
Gender: male
Age: 52 years.
HomeWorld: Earth.

Physical description: Jeffery is rather tall and thin, just reaching 6.2 feet of height. His hair is black an mostly straight, that he usually keeps cut to a lenght a bit below his ears. Due to that he is a biomancer, it can vary a bit both in lenght and color however, even if he always return to his preffered look. Even though he was born with rather noticeable yellow eyes, Jeffrey generally keeps them dark brown. That way they are less noticeable after all, being easily noticed usually isn't a good thing in his chosen work after all. Coming from a southern european group of tellusians, his skin is fairly dark from nature's side. Much too his annoyance though, he can still burn when spending too much time in the sun without precautions. Despite having a pair of rather prominent cheekbones(along with a big nose), he does have a rather charming smile, and he might even be considered handsome. Most of the time, his choice of clothing is anything suitable for where he happens to be at the time. He does seem to have a particular liking for various shades of green and more muted autumn colors.

Personality description: having spent much of his life working for the various factions in the black market, Jeffery has a tendency to play various parts depending on the situation. One moment he might be rather pleasant, friendly even, only to turn around and be almost chillingly ruthless then next. He intends to survive as long as possibly, his profession not being without its risks after all, so he won't hold back from killing or allowing others to be killed, in order to save his own life. With time, he also intends to work up a considerable fortune for himself. Certainly he's not lacking in funds, something that allows him to gain more valuable contracts, but the proffit is not at the level he would like quite yet. At times, he does have a bad habit of laughing at those with a lack or fortune, although he tries not to overdo it. With those very few that he feels that he can trust, he's honest(brutally do sometimes), though he probably wouldn't hesitate to give up his life for them. However, as of yet, he hasn't been put to that test.

Talents/Abilities: Jeffery is a magic-user, currently at hrizah-level, with the possibility of becoming a sorcerer with time. Though his strenght lay in biomancy, he's quite good at making the most out of his other talents.

Gender: female.
Age: 16 years.

Physical description: already quite tall for her age, Yanasel stands at a height of 5'7", however, she's also as thin as a reed. This girl definitely needs to fill out, and that is something that often worries her mother. Certainly she's likely to gain weight and muscle-tone with age, but she seems to be taking after her father in terms of build. As a result of this, she's not particulary endurant, though she can move with a quickness that can be exhausting to look at for shorter periods of time. This is something that her parents quickly learned, as she does have a knack for vanishing out of sight from one moment to the next. Her skin is rather light by the standards of her parents races, having only a slight bronzy tinge to it. With a delicate structure to her face, and with slightly too large, dark golden eyes, she also looks more feminine than any of her older sisters. Inherited from her mother, she's also got a certain feline look to her features, that may grow a bit more noticeable with age. Mostly she's more likely to be seen smiling than frowning, and when something have caught her interest, there's often a intense 'glow' to her eyes. Although her shoulder-long hair is mainly a deep copper color, there's also thin rings of black around each hair, giving much the same effect as that seen in an abyssinian cat's fur. Her ears are rather tall and pointed, most of the time at least, as she does find it rather fun to try out various shapes after she learned how to do very minor shapechanging. At the present though, her parents have forbidden her to do anything too noticeable(after some none too flattering changes in the past).
Clothes is something that may change on a whim with Yanasel. Sometimes she may dress like she's utterly colorblind and with no sense about what looks nice, at other times she mimics her father by dressing only in black. Then there's any style in between.

Personality description: still just a kid, Yanasel is not the most sensible person around. Always curious, and endlessly adventorous, she's a person who'll always want to know the 'why' and 'how' about things. Not to forget the need to find out what lays behind the next bend in the road or over that hill. Still, most of the time she'll go about it in a quiet way, observing and thinking. Only if she can't figure out something on her own, will she start to ask questions. She's quite capable of driving even her rather knowledgeable parents to distraction. Certainly she's a smart kid, but she has yet to learn that there's some things that can't be understood without personal experience. Unfortunately she's also a sly little kid, who's likely to make use of a variety of tactics to get what she wants. Whether it's a well timed tantrum, or sneaking behind the back of her parents or older siblings. If found our however, she will usually take the resulting talking to calmly, and just vow to be smarter the next time. A rather strong-willed young lady, she has also decided that if she's too young to officially start training as an apprentice at a magic school, she is going to be a dragonrider like both of her parents, and several of her older siblings.

[Lady Ashari]

Name: Ailana

Appearance: Normally, Ailana appears as an older woman, perhaps in her late thirties. She prefers to maintain a dignified appearance, pulling her short blonde hair into a bun, and wearing a pair of thin, wire frame glasses. Like others of her kind, she has a few vulpine features, namely her ears and two tails. Both ears and tails have red fur and white tips, typical of most foxes.

She prefers wearing elegant clothing, long skirts and dresses, though she'll wear pants when they are more practical. Reds and golds are the most common color themes she wears.

When she assumes her fox form, she appears as a two-tailed vixen. Her red fur has a few grey hairs in it, indicating her age.

Bio: Ailana is very serious, stern and upright. She believes in work before play, and applying oneself 100% to one's duties. Kai's play-acting and slacking often annoy her. She usually gets over this annoyance quite rapidly, if only for the fact that Kai's parents are paying for Kai's apprenticeship.

She's quite proficient in many types of magic, her specialties being fire magic and teleportation. She is often accompanied by a tiny dragon of pure fire. This dragon isn't an actual creature; rather, it is a fire construct created by Ailana herself. It is most often used to keep an eye on Kai and convey messages.

Name: Kai

Appearance: Being of the same race as Ailana, Kai too has fox features, ears and tails, though she has five tails as opposed to her mentor's two. Her fur color differs as well, grey with black tips. Bubblegum pink hair and bright blue eyes further set her apart from Ailana. She is much younger than Ailana, appearing as a teenage girl. She doesn't seem to mind what she wears, although she refuses to wear skirts and dresses unless absolutely necessary. In her fox form, she appears as a grey furred five-tailed vixen, with a strip of slightly longer pink fur running from just above her eyes to the base of her neck.

Bio: For the most part, Kai is the opposite of Ailana, mischievious and friendly. She is quite outgoing, and loves to chatter. Kai is quite curious and easily distracted, and tends to spend a lot of time goofing off.

She has only just started her apprenticeship with Ailana, and isn't very good with magic at the moment. Her skills, or lack thereof, don't keep her from trying her hand at a new spell.

Hi. I decided to post the characters I have been fleshing out on here. I originally started out with one but while talking to Tygress last night, I was inspired. Darn you for being my muse and inspiring me to think!! ;)

Anyway... as I was saying, it started out as one character and it was fleshed out into 4 as it was only natural for it to happen. Here is my idea:

There are 4 Prime Elementals, one each for Water, Fire, Air and Earth. There can only be one prime elemental and these are individuals who were masters of magic, each focusing on the element which they are now the Prime for. They call each other brother, although they may or may not be related. Depending on who is Prime at the time, they also may or may not get along but they must all assist in order to invoke the Grand Primal magic. Also, the Primes may be male or female, it just so happens that the current Primes are all males. In the event that one dies, the Primal Power goes to the next person in line, who is the most powerful with their element. It has been known for someone who had not realized they had untapped potential to suddenly be thrust into the role and power of a Prime.

The Current Primes are:
Tanaddar - Water

(Occupation: Prime Water Elemental
Gender: Male

Age: Looks to be in his mid 30's but he will not admit his true age. He is the oldest of the Primes and has been the Prime Water Elemental for almost as long as the others can remember. Wether they like it or not, he is the De Facto leader amongst them by that virtue alone.

Appearance: He stands 6'1", Blond Hair worn in a pony tail and a matching goatee. His eyes are icy blue, wether this is natural or a by-product of his having wielded the Prime Water magic for so long is unknown. He typically wears flowing blue robes with many pouches around his waist. He is never without his staff made of darkened ironwood and topped with a mystical blue gem which he has never explained where he got it from. Personality: Generally he is easy going but like the fury of the storm that lies beneath the calm waves of the ocean, if he is brought to anger, it is a force to be reckoned with. Part of the reason he is the de facto leader of the Primes is because with his easy going personality, he tends to be the most diplomatic of them all.

Current Bonds: None as he is new here.

Magic and other Gifts: Tanaddar is the Prime Water Elemental. This means he is a magic user of the highest caliber. In his home dimension, he is one of the 4 most powerful magic users... arguably, due to his experience, he is the most powerful of the 4. While he is competent in all areas of the magic, his specialty focuses on the element of Water. As a Prime, this means he has total and absolute control of water and it is usually his medium through which he works his other magicks.

Where they call home: Tanaddar's home is the realm of Skylior. It's a realm where both light and dark magicks exist as well as both just and unjust rulers reign. Recently, Tanaddar discovered the ability to create portals to dimensions other than his own. He is only beginning to explore. Currently, he is the only Prime to have discovered this but it is only a matter of time before the others discover this as well as the Primal Magic will keep things in balance. So that no Prime is too much more powerful than the others, the balance will make sure the others discover this ability... eventually.)

If you say it's from your own world, it's not stepping on anyone's toes--they'd just be visitors in other people's games/threads, and in their own world in yours. You can flesh out your world as much or as little as you like.

Appearance: Tiff, as she prefers to be called, wears her hair cropped short and bleached blonde (Naturally, she is a brunette). Her entire body is covered with tattoos, all of high quality and representing creatures, flowers, and abstract designs. She is tall, maybe five foot nine or ten, and muscular, especially for a woman. She has a strong New York accent. Her clothing tends towards the revealing, especially on top, although she isn't likely to go nude in public, if the weather is suitable, a halter and short-shorts will do...showing off the art, you know. Her ears are pierced...all the way along the edge, and she often wears multi-colored studs.

Bio: Tiffany is the daughter of a wealthy New York businessman, but is estranged from her father...she ran away at fifteen, was emancipated at sixteen. The arguments were primarily over her sexuality; Tiffany is homosexual. An extremely talented artist, she apprenticed as a tatoo artist, and has made her own body a canvas for the talent of her mentor and friends. Her greatest goal, though, is to distance herself as far from her family as possible. She found a way to achieve this when she found a key in the pocket of a dead bum...the key to a time machine.

Abilities: Tiffany has no inherent magical abilities of her own. What she does have...is a time machine. That she doesn't know how to fly. The result...is quite predictable.

(Note: This is an old character of mine from a completely different world, I got the idea of giving her an unreliable time machine by the thought process of 'Wow. You know. She'd make a great Companion').

Unlike her half brothers, Alia cant use the dark side. which she finds annoying especially when she wants to crispy fry people who annoy her. born the same day and hour as a street brat Rani, alia became her blood sister.
Alia can change her form or go invisible, handy when you want to avoid certain imperials. she has a cheeky sense of humour, loves prank week. Alia recently Impressed Pernese dragons - blue Sythe, Gold Aureth and bronze Cuprith.

Role Play characters outside of the Southern Sea Weyr ^_^

Miyuko- A Dragon Half who can choose whether she wants to be in her human form or dragon half form at any time, though, she usually prefers the human form. She owns a ranch where she breeds different types of critters on a little world that I have yet to figure the name of. She's loving and kind and loves animals.

Raven- he is what is called a "Ravenshift" where he has a human form, a demihuman form (which is him with large raven wings) and his animal form (a raven). He's playful and has a good sense of humor.

Shadow- a Kateshift, petty much the same thing as the Ravenshift, only with a cat and she has cat ears, tail and paws in her demihuman form. A mischievous little thing that loves causing trouble and has a sadistic streak that shows itself every now and then and is rather frightening when it does.

Ruben/Darvon- A tall skinny dude that has telekinetic abilities and green hair and orange eyes. He's quiet and reserved, mostly just sitting back and watching. He also has his split personality, Darvon, who's rather emo.
