Okay... after seeing the movie (and I'd already been planning on doing this) my mom and I (Yes, she actually did this too!) went to Toys 'R Us yesterday and bought some action figures... the small ones. I already have Obi's light saber, Anakin's Starfighter and the talking Yoda (I LOVE that thing!).

Sooo... my question: Did you fight the other collectors and go for it? Are you still thinking about it? Or will you pass?

Oh!!! I also got the last one of General Greivous and the last two Darth Vaders!!!! (at another toy store... Toys 'R Us didn't have them... and the employee offered to go check in back for Darth, who is VERY difficult to find.. and we got the last two!! :hopping: )

I ordered the Mr Potato Head of Darth Vader - Darth Tater, from Amazon, but it's limited supply, so I don't know if I'll get one.
Having been and seen the movie, I think I'll make one from matchsticks, and it still wouldn't be as wooden as some of the actors.

 I heard the attacking was pretty bad, though I still have to see for myself. I remember even in episode two it was going towards soap operish with the actors.

I saw Darth Tater at Wal-Mart, but it didn't really grab me.

But, damn you, George Lucas, stop costing me money! I didn't feel any impulse to buy with Ep II. Not so here! I now have Luminara Unduli, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Aayla Secura on my windowsill. I may have to go back for Yoda after viewing #3, and Shaak Tii, too. At this rate I'm going to end up with the entire Jedi Coucil in my window.

And I have to say, if I could find it around here, I'd be SORELY tempted by the Anakin vs. Obi-Wan Star Wars Unleashed figures.

I've got 3 or 4 from the first trilogy along with some storm trooper stuff. Not even sure what all I have. I picked up a misc. bag of Star Wars toys at a rummage sale for 25 cents.

As i worked at Toys R Us during the release of the toys for the Phantom Menace ... and me being into that toy craze ... i've got all sorts of figures upstairs somewhere under my bed in a box :D

I managed to get hold of Darth Maul, Yoda and all sorts of other strange figures that were not in plentiful supply on launch ... (all mine are from the first production batch ;) ) i even have some of the droid soldiers with; no paint, burnt surface, different colours... all because of production run problems .... i'm hoping they might be worth something because of their uniqueness ;) and they're all unopened !!!!

However i'm not getting into the craze anymore for financial reasons ... (i canna afford it!!!) in fact i'll probably try and sell some of them on ebay at some point in the years to come ..... :disguise:

Nope. I haven't bought figures since Spider-Man came out, and even then it was only a couple. I can't afford to buy action figures all the time, and I'm not really interested in them much anymore anyway. The only Star Wars merchandise I bought was a 3D-ish slurpee cup with a Vader helmet lid on it from 7-11. I am very satisfied with that. The only movie I will go completely NUTS over and spend my brains out on figures and merchandise is if they make a Pern movie ;)

I love that they've brought back the 3 3/4" size. I realized, these are the size figures we played with when I was little (to Mom's chagrin. She still wishes she'd taken away all the blasters that go with the figures and labeled them. And yes, SHE still has all the figures. They were MOM's figures, we just got to borrow them.)

I worked at toys r us for the release of the figures and signed up for the midnight opening. it was fun... I really limited myself to what I really really wanted. The only one I need to find is Padme :( Otherwise I have the other ladies, plus Bail Organa, the Unleashed trio, and the Toys exclusive holo Yoda. I also got into the movie cards.... bought one of the tins, the one featuring the Anakin vs Obi-Wan duel and lots of the separate packs.
Ack I almost forgot.. Boga and Obi are on top of my computer :) I acctually opened some of my figures this time around. The rest of my collection, 120+ figs are still in packaging, boxed up and awaiting proper cataloging.
