Ever wondered what Pern is like in an Interval?

The skies are clear, the land is fertile, the people are free.

And dragonriders just aren't needed.

Madellon Weyr is in crisis. A Weyrleader who indulges himself at the expense of his riders. A Weyrwoman in his thrall. And only one flawed bronze rider with the vision to change things.

But with his closest allies mere blue and green riders, what chance does he have?

First seen in the Fan Fiction Forum on the old Kitchen Table, the original illustrated fan fiction Dragonchoice is now available to read online or download at www.dragonchoice.com (http://www.dragonchoice.com)

Umm shouldn't this be in the fanfiction forum?

Umm shouldn't this be in the fanfiction forum?

If other RPG sites don't go to the FanFiction forum, why would this? I don't see Arolos Weyr advertising in the FanFiction forum. I don't see Cibryen Weyr advertising in the fanfiction forum.

So why would Madellon Weyr, which yes, started as a fanfiction but is now expanding to be yet anther RPG, albeit a different one with different rules, advertise ONLY in the fanfiction forum?

If you follow the link, there is a spot that says "getting involved".

That's probably why it's posted here.

We realise there's no special place where you can talk about your RPG sites. We're getting lots of them in different places, so maybe we can arrange somewhere where they can all be together

This is the correct forum for discussion on your RPG sites

Sorry, I didn't realize it was an RPG site.

Yeah, um, the thing is? It isn't an RPG site. It really IS just Fan Fiction.

From "Getting Involved":

The Dragonchoice project isn't a fandom Weyr. There are no requirements, no roleplay, no restrictions on the cast of characters you can portray. You could take on an entire Weyr within the setting, or a single character. If you are a writer or artist and you would like to showcase your ability in a Pern setting with a difference, dragonchoice.com (http://www.dragonchoice.com/) is a great place to display your work online.

So, yeah, I mean... It's collaborative fan fiction, but not an RPG per se. But, personally, I don't care if this ad stays posted here. It's close enough for government work.

Kalli - apologies. Really. I mean it.

Dragonchoice.com is one of those sites that defies description. Faye put it in here, and in the FFF so it would get as much exposure as possible. It's sort of an RPG in that it's kind of like a 'zine, but it is fanfiction also.

The illustrated Dragonchoice II: Dragonchosen is nearly ready - in the meantime, an update on the project...

Artwork

Sixteen artists from nine countries have so far contributed over thirty illustrations in every style and media imaginable, from pencils to watercolours, and on every subject from character and dragon portraits to action scenes.

We're still inviting artwork contributions to enhance the project, though time grows short as completion approaches. So if you are an artist interested in being part of the Dragonchoice project, get in touch as soon as possible! Email feedback@dragonchoice.com, PM GirlSlick or contact AIM screenname Jeithe to find out more.

Fiction

Four writers have now signed up to enrich the project with tales of Dragonchoice's Pern. Fort, Ista and Telgar Weyrs have been taken on as playgrounds for writers with big ideas, while Madellon's Weyrwoman Valonna has also been claimed for development and backstory.

Interested in exploring a location or character in Dragonchoice's Seventh Interval? Email feedback@dragonchoice.com, PM GirlSlick or contact AIM screenname Jeithe.

On Impression

Impression is central to Pern's appeal - but how does a dragon really choose his rider? Dragonchoice: Necessity or Destiny? takes an in-depth look at the phenomenon of Impression in the Chronicles of Pern. Go to http://www.dragonchoice.com/theory (http://ww.dragonchoice.com/theory) to read the study.

As an example from the amazing body of artwork that will accompany Dragonchoice II: Dragonchosen you can now view Martin Vire's amazing cover illustration exclusively at dragonchoice.com. So, er ... Was Dragonchoice II in its entirety (sans some images) posted on the website a month or two ago, or did I hallucinate?

The unfinished final version did escape to the live site from captivity in the development directory for a time - it was, however, subsequently recaptured and stuffed back in its cage where it belongs until it's finished.

Don't look at the man behind the curtain, nothing to see here, move along....

Damn. I was hoping my subconscious had spontaneously developed the ability to string together a coherent plot.

It's been two years - but it's almost here!

Dragonchoice II: Dragonchosen is being released at www.dragonchoice.com (http://www.dragonchoice.com) on Friday, 23 December. The lavishly illustrated sequel to Dragonchoice features over fifty pieces of original artwork and weighs in at 140,000 words, picking up the story of the Seventh Interval's troubled Madellon Weyr where the first story left off.

To celebrate the imminent release, our artists have created a range of icons to use as avatars on blogs, instant messengers and message boards. So no matter if your dragon is gold, bronze, brown, blue or green (or even white), there's an icon to suit you at www.dragonchoice.com (http://www.dragonchoice.com)!

And visit www.dragonchoice.com/teaser (http://www.dragonchoice.com/teaser) for a taste of what's to come!

Only two weeks to go until the illustrated Dragonchoice II hits www.dragonchoice.com - so if Christmas songs on the radio, the Wizard of Oz on the telly, or cold turkey sandwiches on the menu start getting you down over the festive period, you can always turn to Dragonchoice II for a hearty dose of fan fiction and some gorgeous artwork.

There's a new set of Dragonchoice icons at www.dragonchoice.com featuring gold, bronze and brown dragons for you to use as your avatars, LJ images and IM icons.

And we have a new teaser poster at www.dragonchoice.com/teaser - go and check it out.

The illustrated Dragonchoice II: Dragonchosen has arrived at www.dragonchoice.com (http://www.dragonchoice.com)!

It's been two years since the story hit the old Kitchen Table, and we've used that time well! With nineteen artists working in every imaginable medium, there's a version of the Pernese dragon for everyone. the story itself has been polished up and there will be printable PDFs of every chapter if you prefer to download and print your copy of Dragonchoice II.

The first three chapters are up now at www.dragonchoice.com and further chapters will go up in the coming weeks. But even those first three chapters feature eight pieces of full-size artwork.

There's also a new poster to see at www.dragonchoice.com/teaser (http://www.dragonchoice.com/teaser) - and don't forget the free Dragonchoice icons!

Finally, please do take a few minutes to review the story and artwork - we've worked hard to make this the best we possibly could, and we really do want to know what you think!

Hmm...I've missed Last Pass Pern since Anna closed it, and Dragonchoice sounds like a good replacement. But I'm not sure I can take on another group...::sigh::
