Well, here are my attempts. Note that I did not create the molds or anything, I just bought them from a store. The dragonw/girl statuette is inspired by Melanie Rawns dragons. I cannot remember the name of the series. I think it's the Star Scroll or something like that.
The dragon goblet I painted and fired in my aunt's kiln. The goblet was my very first attempt at painting ceramics. If you've ever painted with the paint you use before you fire eating ware (sorry, all my terms and knowledge of vocabulary has flown out the window) you know the first color of the paint most often looks nothing like the finished job. The dark green was a very light green before the firing, but the dark green was a pretty mauve color. I had not idea this dragon was going to turn out so well. The tongue was supposed to be crimson, but my aunt says crimson is notoriously hard to work with when you have no idea what's going on, however, with a black tongue, I think the effect was actually heightened.
The girl/dragon were painted using regular old acrylic paints you can buy at Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby. Both of these were attempted about eight years ago when I was in high school.
