Got some good stuff here! :D I asked for and got a webcam (now to figure out how to use it), and my husband got a scanner. We've now joined the modern world! I got an adorable beanie baby dragon, several beautiful pieces of dragon related jewelry and a lovely handmade bracelet. A gift certificate to a local favorite restaurant and a new portable CD player to replace mine that was acting very wierd. Santa was VERY good to me!

What did I give? Quite a few handmade Santa ornaments (need to start on things earlier next year), some native American jewelry purchased from a friend who owns a shop in Colorado, money to my kids because they'd rather go out and buy their own gifts, and a whole lot of Nightmare Before Christmas items to my daughter, as it's one of her favorite movies. I made a BIG hit with her and her boyfriend by giving them Sally and Jack Christmas stockings that I got from a catalog. Not only do they both love the movie, but it was kind of my "subtle" way of saying that we really like Mike and hope he's around for many more Christmases to come! :ok: So, how about everyone else? Was Santa good?! ;)

Let's see..... we gave a lot of things from Egypt and a large pile of cool toys (to the kids). I bought a build-your-own model for the kids to give Oldrider (it's the elephant-thingy from LOTR) and he bought a sewing machine for them to give to me! :hopping:
They also painted a couple of boxes for him and my dad sent over a wooly jumper for me and a collection of Oz stamps for Oldrider.

We had a brilliant day and the kids have lots of craft projects to colour/paint/build while the weather is yucky.

We drove into Wales yesterday and I got to watch snow fall for the first time! :heartbeat I've been skiing, but I've never seen snow falling out of the sky.

Well, let me see; right now I'm drinking coffee from a mug with my KT/KTL avatar printed on it (and my name, in host blue), courtesy of H :) LL & BM got me seasons 3 & 4 of Babylon 5 on DVD (I already had seasons 1 & 2, & season 5 isn't out yet), WG gave me a pair of jeans (which I'm wearing now) and a book on astrology, my brother got me an Emerson Lake & Palmer DVD, & my parents came up with a couple of CDs, a pencil torch & a table lamp (the last was to both of us).

I got LL Sims 2 for the PC, the new special edition Mulan DVD, & something naughty from Ann Summers ;) . BM got Final Fantasy XI & a Black Lace (i.e. naughty) novel. WG also got a Black Lace novel (a different one that we've already got) & a blender/mill (which I knew she wanted). I got my brother the latest Harry Potter DVD & a (heavy) book celebrating 40 years of Doctor Who, my mother got the book & DVD of Michael Palin's Himalaya series, & my dad got the book & DVD of Alan Tichmarsh's Natural History of Britain series. Finally, I got H a book of comic quotations :)

Hubbie and I don't actually "exchange" gifts...but I guess you could say our Florida trip is "our" pressie to each other.

With that in mind, several of our gifts were "Florida" related...cool outfits for beach-walking, lumbar seat for hubby for the drive down. CDs for the player in the truck (Chris Botti on trumpet!!! for one, can't wait to hear it!!!), and wines to welcome in the New Year from our balcony overlooking the ocean!! :D. There was two lovely pieces of silver jewelry from my dear H.S. (:D one being an adorable sheep pin) a sweet sheepy beanie baby, plus some neat stuff from Dragon.Con (do I have the BEST H.S. ever, or what!!!!!)

Many candles, as the family knows I love them(and hubbie made me promise not to buy any more until I used what I had ;) ). Knitting calendar with a pattern a day for the year. A beautiful poinsetta Christmas cake plate and a hand-blown Christmas ball from a local artisan. Hubby got a stove-top smoker, and has already read the cookbook that goes with it!!! :D Plus we got Christmas pictures of all the little ones!!! :-) Love those!!!

As to giving, with the collection of great nieces/nephews...lots of clothes, toys (wooden one) and Books Galore!! They all love to be read to. Teas and coffees for the caffine lovers, and a year's subscription to the Crossword Puzzle Club for my father (6 each month for a year). He's 90 and likes to do them to keep his mind sharp!! (plus clothes). Hand-knit scarves for some friends/family... (me being the hand-knitter), and  Wizard of Oz "stuff" for my one sister (an WoO-aholic) that I found in a local antique shop....and LOTS of books...so friends/family can try something new for the New Year!!! :)

We tend to keep things simple in our family....so its fun to find the special things that people collect, etc.

Most of my family requested gift certificates so that's what they got. The 3 boys all got books, jeans, socks, a Christmas mug with some specialty hot choc, and some candy. Hubby got a movie and an out of print book I found for him. I got a beautiful ruby necklace that matches earrings I got last year, a juicer attachment for my kitchen-aid mixer and a very nice beany bear from hubby, some shiny new kitchen utensils, the in-laws, a bracelet (the kind you take plain links out and replace them with ones that have things on them) and a gund teddy bear from my sister. My side of the family decided several years ago to have a draw and get one person something a bit bigger rather than getting everybody something small. Actually a pretty good idea and it makes shopping easier.

A very good Christmas was had by everybody. :santa2:

I and my sister ordered a calendar at a photo store, with pix of our parents' two cats for them (as we have for the last 4 Christmases that the cats have been alive). My mother also got a couple mystery novels, and my dad got a few comics he's collecting (as he's grown older his reading speed's dropped right down, it takes him nearly 4 hours to read the paper, so he's not much into novels anymore  ) and chocolate, as well as toys and kitty candy for the cats. My sister and her fiancé celebrated their 10th engagement anniversary, so I bought them a fairly expensive set of cutting boards, my sister got Digital Fortress by Dan Brown, and her fiancé got a gift certificate to a CD/DVD store.

My parents, sister and her fiancé had ganged up to buy me the Lord of the Rings extended edition dvd trilogy. :bounce: My parents also bought me a new pillow and duvet and a Dalziel & Pascoe novel. I also got Legends II and the Roswell soundtrack, and some chocolate.

OOOHH!! Santa had an extended stop at our house this year! Annie got her bedroom completely repainted and cleaned while she was off to her folks house. Then Santa dropped off and set up a whole new computer system for her! A Compaq Pressario that is bigger and badder than my HP! Go figure! But she's such a smart little kid (11.5 years old and a budding author) that we just felt that she had to have it! Now the best present of all is that I can keep those two (hubby and Annie) off of my 'puter!! :bouncy: Gave Mom a new garden hose, reel and nozzel. Her hands are getting so bad with arthiritis that the more flexible hose will be great for her. Gave my sis a fantastic pair of Baccarat Crystal Candlesticks. Now all three of us (me, mom & sis) have a pair of these. Thank the goddess for Ebay!!! :) Gave the hubby some much needed tools that he's been asking for all year long. He's tickled pink. Love having a husband that is so easy to please! Gave step son and his wife a new vacuum and gift certs for each. Brother in law was given the new Uno Attack and he's now pestering all of us for a rowdy game of Uno!! :)

Got a new stereo with 5 disk changer (woohooo!!!) so non stop music now! That was from hubby. He's so good at knowing what I want! Mom & sis teamed up to get me a gourmet pots & pans set and cookie sheets. I guess they didn't like me old ratty ones! Used them last night to make chicken alfredo! They work great! Thanks M&S!! Got gift certs to Borders Books so looks like I'll get Dragons Kin after all this year! :) Also to Circuit City so I'll have some new music to go along with the good reading!

All in all a very good year! Yup! Santa was very good to all of us. But most important of all, was the time spend with the ones I love more than life itself! That is truly the best gift of all!

Hope everyones Christmas went as well as ours! Seasons Best to all and yack with ya'll in the new year!!

Santa did very well by me :ok: I got a lovely diamond eternity ring from Ian, perfume, about 3 sets of pyjamas, some mittens, Lush gift boxes and Van Helsing on DVD. Weirdest thing I got was a glass blob on a stick from an aunt of mine. Still not sure what it's for...

I managed to get Ian a PS2 which I didn't think was going to happen until right up to the 11th hour and tickets to see the Producers in London, gave others perfume, chocolates, Lush, a hamper to his parents and my Mum a mobile phone and Dad some train books and DVD's.

All in all, a pretty good year! :bouncy:
