My personal favourite is the waterfall, seen below. I once painstakingly transferred it into colour codes that the board would recognise, long before this new interface thingummy made all that easy.

That ASCII art is simply brilliant! :applause: I just can't beleive how people can pull off entire pictures like that. the best I can do is @~~~~~~

The first link of this thread goes to stuff that I made myself, from scratch. (Well, I might have had help with the winged horse, I can't really remember, but I know I did the wings myself - but the rest I definitely did myself)

To display that kind of pictures on this board, type [ code ] before and [ / code ] afterwards (without the spaces in the brackets) that will preserve the number of spaces in the 'picture'. The shortcut for this is to select the text, then click on the # button above the text box, in WYSIWYG mode.

Yeah, I noticed that the other day myself, when I was trying to post that waterfall again in the WLT a couple of days ago. For some reason, I couldn't get it to work, even though I was copying from the exact same text file. :erm:

Well, I figured since he's right there in my siggy it would be a bit redundant to post it again :laugh:

I DO have a programme that will break the picture down into lines so I can see what I SHOULD do if you see what I mean?I remember when the only way to post pics was by ASCII text back in the early 1980's--MS DOS and desktop computers hadn't even been invented yet--there was a digitizer program and hardware that could scan in a picture and spit out the ASCII pic.

One famous pic that frequently made its way about college was of one of the Playboy centerfolds. There were so many copies floating about, the admins had to finally crack down on it. They knew the exact filesize, and so unilaterally targeted each and every file with that exact filesize, which messed up several people's programs that had nothing to do with it. In addition, it hardly dented the spread of the illegal pictures--the folks doing simply chopped up the file and sent them in smaller chunks (the first application and invention of the program eventually called "Chainsaw.exe")
