Nightshade Weyr, 13th Pass

Well, we've had our first official Mating Flight, with bronze Vortath(or Vorath; Weyrleader D'nis and his dragon aren't in agreement about what name his dragon has.. :upside: ) winning Queen Alaireth. Our Senior Weyrwoman has determined that there will be 35 eggs(5 of which will be Greys..our non-sport addition to the stable of dragon colors). So of course we will need more Candidates--we have several already, but can definitely welcome more ^_^

There will not be a Gold egg in this Clutch, and perhaps in any clutch in the forseeable future. Sorry :)

We also need--riders! Bronze riders, brown riders, blue riders, green riders(gals can ride the boy dragons also at Nightshade, with the exception of bronzes of course). Grey riders will have to be by permission, as they are a bit rarer, so ask first before submitting a Grey rider. You may or may not get permission, depending. And, as with High Ranking characters, you will most definitely have to play your Grey rider in order to keep it. Not to say that Greys are more important than Golds, for instance, but they're still special.

Also, and I might have mentioned this somewhere else, if you have had a character die a horrible death at another Weyr, but juuuust can't let go because it was your fave character--bring 'em to Nightshade, let 'em run around as a ghost! Or heck, just bring 'em back to life--we don't mind. We welcome those as well as totally new characters..and hey, you don't have to work on a persona sheet, saving you tons of time. :ok:

Other odd characters we welcome, could be--those who have a strong aversion to sunlight.. or maybe those who are just a little too hairy for their own good.. :evil:

Yeah, we're a little weird at Nightshade. And it may not be your cup of tea. But that's okay ;) we understand. But we hope someone out there might like that sort of thing, check us out, and decide to stay awhile(you can lurk, too).

Hi again, it's me, the very quiet on the boards PKAerynSun1, with another post :shhh:

This time the founders of Nightshade Weyr(I and Sarafina) have determined that we need yet another member to add to our BoD--(I think our Evil Plot Bunny D'nis needs someone else to tortu--I mean, talk to besides us :D )

The position right now we're looking to add is a Backup Persona approver, for those times when either myself or Sarafina is unavailable because of something going on in RL. You'd also be needed to help keep important posts going(such as Mating Flights, Threadfall,etc), and to be a kind of cheer leader to boost everyone's interest when things slow down in the club.

Now to the requirements--

1.We'd really like it if you've been in Pern Fandom for a least a year, and have good working knowledge of same.
2.While we do realise that people have lives away from Pern :tilt: , we would need you to be available as often as is possible.
3.We'd really really love it if you've been on a BoD before(well, you can also be on a BoD now, but only if you have the time..seriously)
4.You have to have an evil, wicked sense of humor, love for the paranormal and strange, and..
5. You also need to have a Love for all things Monty Python(okay, that's not really a requirement, but it helps.. :bouncy: )

We might happen to have yet another position open up, and we're working on what else we might need for that position.. if it happens that we do, I'll edit this post accordingly.

Also, we've been working on a Guide of sorts for the BoD to go by--I'll be working on the webpage and getting it up online soon.. when I do, I'll post it here, also.

Hey just joined today......One question. Do you not have a character appl;ication section? I am BoD at a coupla Weyrs now, and we fing the Character Application priceless for forum RP sites.
I may not have looked well enough tho. I want to make a few charries, but I can't find the bit with the sheet to do it, and email stuff just confuses me. It's the forums I RP on see ;)
If you don't have a Character application bit, I aint bein cheeky, but I would suggest you get one, it really makes it easier on members and BoD alike.

If you are still in need of a BoD member, I can help out there if needed.

The Hatching has now happened, and the Weyr is now 'blessed' with a bunch of weyrlings and dragonets running around-- their group having been named the Ghosts.

That said, the weyrlings are just being awakened to their first day as riders, and find that it may not be as easy as they dreamed about. Come and join now, the WeyrlingMaster needs more vicims!

Breaking News!

While unnoticed yet by most of the residents, a number of dragons and riders whose origin is currently unknown, have just entered the temporary weyrling barracks. They exact intentions are unknown, but reports seem to indicate that they are seeking to abduct as many weyrlings and dragonets as possible.

We'll be right back as soon as we have more information.

Nightshade is in quite a turmoil at the present...

In the barracks, the weyrlings and their dragonets got a rather rude awakening-- as they found themselves attacked by a group of strange dragonriders. Some weyrlings got away certainly, but others found themselves dragged outside along with their dragonets whisked away on the backs of dragons who certainly weren't from any Weyr they knew.

All too late, riders and dragons woke to the alert sent out by the dragonets. By the time they could react to the nightly raid, the strangers had gone between-- all, except for a single dragon whose rider had been surprised and disabled by a former wher handler.

And now the Weyr finds itself with very few clues to work on, the only one who might offer some answers being the single rider, and a blue dragon who has proved less than co-operative...


Join us as the Weyr is trying to handle the situation and find where the missing Weyrlings have been taken. Find out if you're able to raise to the challenge and deal with a situation that may soon become more difficult than anyone could imagine.

Riders of browns, blues and greens are very welcome, and due to the Hatching that will happen in a few months-- we're in need of candidates as well.
