Okay so far all of November is a definate No-Go for Sharon.
Pam can't make Oct 30th because of visiting relatives.
and the idea of the T. Opland and M. Freeman concert on the 22nd and 23rd up North may mean conflict for some who want to attend that.
Since Sunday is the one day that we all seem to have off I need to get some idea who is open for when! I would hate to have anyone miss out if a date change will clear it for us all, but majority rules on this one.
Please, post and let me know so we can make a decision before it gets to late to get our ususal site, otherwise I'll have to find another location (or even another Park) and that may take time! Need some answers before the end of the month!

Pam says:
So it sounds like my thing on the 30th might fall through. So... let's go ahead and have the gather then, and as I've said all along, if I'm the only person who can't make that date, so be it.
-----------
Okay then, as no one has voiced any other problems with that date, come the end of the month I'll book the site for the 30th of October. We'll see how things go between now and then!

MHB,
I received your email, but the chances of us being the first to arrive are very, very slim.
We will bring our usual veggies & dessert... and any games you want to play that we have. :bouncy:

Counting down the days and trying to convince Dax and family to come out for it. :bouncy: :D Her hubby is in CA every other month with his work so hopefully he will be able to come out when the Halloween Gather happens and bring the family.
I got to meet them when I was back in PA and they are a great family.

Do you mean Dux? The Duckie of Willet Reknown? That would be wonderful!
Teriyaki chicken on skewers? Does that sound good to everyone? There will be something else of course, but I've noticed that's been one of the most popular grilled offerings I've done.
Okay, I'm working in a Halloween Quiz which will sort of work like a game show. People call out thier answers and the first correct one wins a small prize. The questions will be about Halloween and Scary Things, Some of the questions will be easy enough for our youngest gatherers and some might prove to be toughies. What do you think? Fun?
Earthmother
17th September 2005, 09:50 PM
Both sound great sis Sharon. :D
I do not know if Dux is in the willit, but that is how her KT name is spelled. If she is, encourage her to come out too. We had so much fun at Jeffrey's house. :fiend:

Sounds like Fun Sharon. and yes Mom, Dux is in the WLT... She's Rabble's "archenemy?"
Speaking heh of Monster fun, Sharon this past August when my 'rents came out west for a visit, my dad took a pic of me, Clbeilby and Frankenstein's Monster at Universal Studios. Whomever it is in that costume, has a blast doing it- Back in July he was dancing up a storm beside one of the street bands.

I spoke with Paul on the 11th and he says that he is definately going to try to make it out for the gather. He also informed me that James is back down in Huntington Beach, so odds are he may show up too. Havent spoken to Cindy but I'm hopingshe makes it.
We all caught my neice's flu here, so appoligies to Dena for not being able to make lunch Tuesday! We really must find a way to get together before the end of the month!
The Teriyaki Chicken Skewers sounds good to me! And a Quiz about Halloween and "Things That Go Bump In The Night" would be a really appropriate game.
I'm hoping that someone else will show up again to get in on the fun. I may be mistaken, but I do believe I heard him say he had just the outfit for it if he decides to come.( I promised him no "DRB's" in the coloring book unless specifically requested!)
And I think his little elfen companion was really hoping to get into that giant Jenga game with Chris and Crystal. (Besides, Sharon could use another female with an SPT to stand beside her in the photos to balance off against the guys!)
Did anyone going to Dragon Con attend Shirley and Tom's "Joining"? I noticed there were a few pics on the ClanFiend site for DragonCon 2005! Nice outfits!

Thanks for well wishing, and am feeling much better! (After a few shots of Bailey's and a good night's sleep!) :shhh:
I spoke with Shirley and later Cindy on the phone yesterday. They both send their love to one and all at the gather. Cindy is going to try, job permitting, to make it to the gather. So cross your fingers people!:applause:

Okay, People! :help: We are at 27 Days and Counting! :applause:
Glideth, Cindy, and Paul are all going to try their best to make it to this one!:good: :hopping:
And our special guest might just become a regular if things work our right!:frolic: :mexwave: :welcome:
So what about the rest of you?
Purpura

:) Hubby says he may have to work Sunday the 30th of October. I may need a ride to the Gather and back... If anyone's willing to do such a thing get in contact with me/ClBeilby, and we'll arrange things... He is still definitely gonna make a ziti for me to take with me if he has to work.
Masterharper Bridget
7th October 2005, 04:30 PM
Update:
Paul doesn't think that he can make it after all. I've been unable to reach James, but I'll keep trying.:ouch: And Andy's vacation plans seem to coinside with our gather so we are not likely to be seeing him either.
If you need a ride Purpura we can swing it! Since Crystal and I take two cars to the gather, one or the other of us can pick you up on the way there.:ok:
Earthmother
7th October 2005, 11:41 PM
There is always us too... if you need a ride. Of course we are never early and sometimes late... LOL
I will keep my fingers crossed for Cindy and James still and who knows maybe something will change and allow Gildith and Paul to make it. :D Always hopeful.

Wrong on the costume count... no Jedi Knights this year... but they are from the Lego world. :spidereek :wizard:
So far it is the 4 of us... I have not heard from the girls on whether they are coming or not... as soon as I do... I will let everyone know.
We can bring some games... the youngest has a pumpkin to decorate.
Sharon
23rd October 2005, 09:14 PM
Okay so should I bring the paints to paint pumpkins?
Oh heck, I'll bring them and anyone can bring pumpkins to paint if they wish.
And I will have the tub thing we use for bobbing for apples, so if anyone wants to bring apples and a big jug of water we can do that again this year. In fact, I was just thinking about that this morning. I may have teeth now that can bite into an apple, but I had this vision of biting into an apple in the tub and the teeth popping out. Heck they try to pop out if I sneeze hard.

Just a quick reminder, this weekend the clocks "Fall Back". Don't want anyone getting there an hour earlier than they really needed.
However - Dena, feel free to disregard this reminder. If you don't set your clocks back, you might end up not running late. ;)
Earthmother
29th October 2005, 06:35 AM
Ah, but Sharon I like that extra hour of  LOL
We will be the usual 4... Melissa hurt her back at school some how and Geniece is working. :( Our adopted teenage daughters are growing up.
Purpura, we can plan on picking you up unless it works better with MHB... of course as sis Sharon says "we are notoriously late." :spidereek :ghost2: ;)
I am planning on bringing veggies and salad.
Ds#2 has a pumpkin to decorate so he should enjoy the paints sis. Let me know if I need to bring anything else.
Masterharper Bridget

A big special thanks to Sharon,:wizard: for not only doing the meat-eats to perfection as usual, but for the Halloween trivia played throughout the day in sessions. It was a trip and a half! :witch2:
The tree-climers of Pern united for a climbing fest! :skull: ( The boys, Micah and Boaz, as well as Ceara, Pam and Todd) And Pam's Swing thing had some interesting moments too. Not to mention the apple bobbing which was a real hoot!:ghost: Even the Giant/Extream Jenga had it's moments, though it didn't got as tall as 6' this time!:goodevil:
Pictures will be posted this afternoon! Videos taken will be e-mailed to attendees only (with four or five exceptions)! Tough luck for thos who didn't! You missed out!

When did the videos happen, MHB? or did we miss out by being late as usual? hee hee!
The boys loved their stuff animals... ds#2 named his cats Vin and Van... they are twins and slept with him. :heartbeat
Ds#1 named his pony.... "Pony" and he slept with him. :heartbeat
I am currently enjoying the bread before showering and cleaning up the house. Both boys wore their orange and black bracelets to school since today you can were black and orange. :D
Oh, Rod is putting all the pictures from the gather on a cds which I will mail out unless I see you soon. He said there were way to many to send via email... over 300

Yesterday was a heck of a lot of fun!
I've posted some of my photos at ClanFiend. I had taken far fewer than I had hoped. Next Gather I think I will keep my camera with me at all times because there were quite a few photo opps that I missed.
Start at this one & keep clicking next....

They do have group rates if we can get over 15 people together! :darkside:
(It might be another chance to get done up in costume, if they alow it. And James could pass as a Bucaneer, don't you think?
With kilt or in leather !) :fiend: :good:

My preference would be for the Pirates dinner thing, rather than Medieval Times. And if we can get enough for the group rate and if (and this is a big if,) Lara and I are both off the night chosen, we'll try to be there.
