We have decided to have some fun on our little KT here, and start an art competition! At the moment there will be 3 categories;
1. Art Drawings - Anne McCaffrey themed - from any of Anne's worlds, not just Pern
This will include your own drawings, or CGI work (and I personally would like to see some non-Pern art, RK, or a Hrruban, or a Weft, something along those lines! ;) )
2. Photo Art - Any subject you wish to take a photo of (within reason, do not forget our g-rating!)
Photos scanned in or uploaded off CD or digital camera.
3. Art Miscellaneous
Something you have created, it could be a floral arrangement, costume design, a cake you've designed, a handsome gingerbread man, a doll or toy you have made, a craft or cross stitch, quilt or embroidery you have done - maybe even your garden layout - get creative people! :D

There will be a small prize for the winner of each category and the runner up, and once we have all submissions the competition will be judged or voted, by the members!
The competition will be open for 6 weeks and the voting will be for 1 week, anyone can submit a piece or pieces, and everyone can vote for their favourites, so get to it people!

At the moment, it depends on how popular this is, you can either post the picture here, or a link, in this thread to your work - if need be, I'll set up 3 seperate threads, 1 for each category. Not to worry though, if I do need to split this thread, I seperate the posts into their correct categories...
Kor, photo manipulation is allowed in the photo category, miscellaneous is just photos of the art being submitted, if that makes sense :D

Would an acrylic painting (or rather photo thereof, but with the judging to be based off the painting, not the picture of the painting) of a non-Anne subject fall under Photo or Miscellaneous? I have a couple acrylics-on-board I might submit, provided I have a category for them. (None of my Pern art really holds a candle to some other work I've seen around here.) They definitely aren't scanable, though.

I might post the Pern-related acrylic here once it's done, but it's NOT good enough to be a competition piece!

It's always been fine for me. I'm a pretty big fan of it actually. A lot of talent there(although, for more talent and less crap, I surf GFX Artist (www.gfxartist.com)). Out of the....25-30 pieces I've submitted so far, they've all gone through fine.

But as you recall this is my first time, so do i scan my pictures in/take photo of it and scan it in, and then what? Can you guys perhaps help me with that? Because i dont have a website of my own...yet

Ok Jolèt, you can do either, scan your picture in if you have a scanner, or you could take a photo of it if you don't have a scanner, like Plat did, either way will work, but a scanner will give you a more detailed image.

And I think Bronzie wasn't happy with his pic and decided not to aubmit it after all, though I think he's got some photo ones in ;)
