Another author who I've enjoyed some books but not others.
I truly enjoyed all the True Game books (I hear the actual The True Game omnibus is being reprinted, unsure of the complete details - I hope they reprint the Jinian trilogy), and The Revenants. I have tried to read some of her others, but they haven't caught me in the same way.
I must say that when I think back at the books, she has some truly wierd/horrible ideas, but somehow makes them work. Particularly with The Revenants I wonder how I can keep reading it but you truly want to find out whether Jaer can make it.

I've read all the True Game books and the Jinian Farseer books (but not in some time - still have the original paperbacks) but the book that really made me a fan was The Gate to Women's Country and Grass. :2cent:

I quite like her books, I've read four of them. I liked best Grass (seriously weird!) and Family Tree (great for nature lovers), The Fresco and Gate to Women's Country not as much but both were still good reads.

You know Emmy - you must be the first person i have ever met who has also read The True Game and The Revenants (my True Game is the omnibus)! Like you, i read those but couldnt get into her others (although i should look for the Jinian books if you thought they were good)... I think of the amount of times that i have seen S. T. Tepper come up on various BB's and i have suggested these books and NO ONE has ever heard of them!
I just did an amazon search (why did i never think if this before, i had dont a Dymocks search to no avail) and it seems that there are also Mavin Manyshaped books as well... The Jinian Trilogy has been omnibused into The End of The Game Unfortunatly it seems that neither trilogy is availible in is entirerity...
I am rambling....

Dai, check Barnes and Noble, in their used and out-of-print section. They show a large number of these books. Also, Alibris has some also. :2cent:

Dai, I have the omnibus edition of The True Game, and also The Adventures of Mavin Manyshaped. I have Jinian Star-eye, but need Dervish Daughter and Jinian Footseer. Can't afford to order from overseas unfortunately!

We dont have Barnes and Noblen here in Australia... So even if they offer an online service it would cost the same as amazon... Thanks for the info though.

Have you tryed Amazon's second hand books??? I order a fair bit that way and often for 2 or 3 Aussie dollers and then about 12 in postage i get decent quality books... They arrive looking like mine do in 6 months ;) Like i only get books that way that i cant get here - and for 15 to 20 bucks (and a wait of up to 2 months) i find all sorts of cool stuff!
Anyways - just a thought... They dont have any Jinian or Mavin omnibus's at the moment - i checked...
And Angus and Robertson and Dymocks are just useless! :2cent:

I think the only Sherri S. Tepper books I didn't like were Northshore and Southshore (Together, The Awakeners.)
Grass is my favorite. It's funny though, in quite a few of her books, Marjorie shows up. At least we know where she started! Her adventures end in Sideshow. And, I thought The Fresco was totally hilarious.
Anyway, I think I have all her books, or close to it.
But...whenever I've looked for used and out of print books on Amazon, they always want an arm and a leg for them. I prefer www.abe.com - the ABE booksearch engine.
