Braylen Weyr was nicknamed Wayward or Trashfield Weyr. All the old, disabled, injured and unwanted riders with a few good ones thrown in come to Braylen. They're all accepted, as Braylen is an entire wing short of a full Weyr.
Braylen Weyr was a small Weyr made to protect the explorers on the Southern Continent. Ista sent an older queen pair to the Weyr. No one really expected anything to happen; Thread was just a myth, but precautions were nice. Thread began falling and the riders at Braylen were called upon. This was ten turns before. Renarth and Irela, the queenrider pair, only rose twice and T'nel had been the Weyrleader for seven turns.
Then, Fort took pity, and sent a young queen pair. Amara and Verisith were adventurous enough to go. They rose, and Bronze Oraeth caught Verisith, but the now Weyrleader M'riel stepped down very soon after a terrible threadfall, less than two months after the flight and that hidebound, emotionless T'nel is back in power.
Verisith layed a clutch of ten with a favored egg - the queen egg. Eight eggs hatched, and the queen egg was one of the two that did not. Will Braylen be even further scorned by this fact? Only time will tell.
Do you belong at Braylen/Wayward Weyr? An unhappy quirk, or perhaps simply an adventurous streak? Male candidates and lower riders especially, step on up!
