I really like this so far - the only thing I don't like is the Yoda-speech of the dragons. Unneccessary to write this way it is. Confusing very and annoying it can be.

Yeah...

I've heard that before. I didn't think it would fit to give them Human-like speech (like I do with most of my other aliens).

Though, I did try to make it a tad bit different from Yodian.

By the way, Chapters 3 & 4 are up. :)

I really like the story, and I really hate having to read the sentences backwards.

I was going to post something for your current X-over on Friday, but had problems with my connection.

I've gone through your Draconia series & liked it--sorry I hadn't read more than Part 1: Contact before now.

Sounds like a rather intriguing way of handling the cross-over :D Keep it up. I'm looking forward toward more :ok:

Thank you. :)

I recently did some major changes to the original Draconia story that I posted--especially the climax. If you would like to read the final version, I'll be happy to e-mail it to you. :)

Can't you just repost it?

I could, but someone said that I shouldn't do that if I want to get it published.

I'm not sure how much rewriting something needs to be considered entirely different than what was published... but yeah, I wouldn't post it. I don't know enough to give you that detailed of an explanation. In fact, you might want to do some digging on your own to see if you've already lost first rights.

I would think having the original posts here could compromise it just as much as posting the revised version.

I'm going to have to go back and read this story again now that I'm reading the Pern crossover!

How would the agency know if a story was posted on Forum somewhere, anyway?

Google a couple lines from it, or the names of some characters. Go though caches. I can think of several ways.

And then there's always the legal trouble you might wind up in if they find out after publishing.

Uh, oh...

I don't suppose there's any way I can get those deleted... :O

I think there is a way to contact the search engine companies and request it... but I'm not sure what that entails, and it's probably rather complicated.

I meant get the Threads deleted here.

Anyway, I just did such a search on Google, typing in some of the characters' names.

The only thing that came up related to my Draconia was the Part 1 that I posted here. Neither the other two parts were there nor the other short story I wrote for the series here.

No, you shouldn't try--

Just be honest about having previously published your story here when you seek for an agent and publisher. If you try to hide the fact they don't have first-publishing rights, you can get in all sorts or legal trouble, in addition to being blacklisted for any future works.

It's better to be honest about it, that way, when you do come up with a new idea, your agent and publisher will be more willing to consider you for having been honest with them
