While at Dragon*Con this year, Ann Crispin mentioned, in her writer’s workshop, that Philcon is a more book and writer oriented convention. I only live 2 hours from Philadelphia, but had never even heard of Philcon. So I’m going to give it a try..
Philcon’s website doesn’t give a lot of info yet on what they have happening this year, but you can pull up previous years from their web to get an idea. http://www.philcon.org The convention runs Friday to Sunday, Dec. 9-11, 2005. Cost is $35 until Sept 30, 2005.
From what I can tell from the previous years web sites it is a lot smaller than Dragon*Con, but has costumes, contests, and the same types of tracks for all type of activities and interests related to Sci-Fi and Fantasy.
If anyone has additional info, or plans to attend please speak up!
