kc is coming to York on the 29th October (for a seminar), but also to collect her raffle prize which we brought back from D*C for her. So if anyone else happens to be in, or can get to, York that day...

It is so annoying isn't it, I mean the Gather last year pretty much fell apart due to lack of organisation. And I would love to meet eople from the KT and especially from the willet.

That's why we're starting the organisation for next year's gather already! This, however, is just a mini-gather for anyone who can make it, not a "proper" gather ;)
A bit of information I mentioned in the Yahoo group but not in here: Barley Hall (a restored 15th century house in York) is running a special events weekend to mark the 400th anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot (Guy Fawkes was from York), with a play based around the plot performed by a group of Tudor Players. Also, there's a candlelit evening with the players & music from the period by Trouvere, a group of mediaeval minstrels based at Barley Hall. As a life member of the Friends of Barley Hall I might just be able to get us discount tickets for the evening :)

OK, so there's just over a week to go, so it would probably be a good idea to decide when & where everyone's meeting up. Assuming those from outside York are coming by train (and no-one sane drives into York!), then the station would be the obvious place, but we need to know what time everyone's coming, so we can arrange to have someone there to meet them.
Also, if anyone's planning on staying for the evening's entertainment at Barley Hall, I really need to know ASAP so I can arrange tickets (hopefully at a discount ;) )
Looking forward to seeing new faces as well as familiar ones :)

I know there is a lunchbreak between 1pm and 2pm but I would love to go to Barley Hall either as an alternative or as a bonus. What time is the event there? There may be 2 of me, as I shall ask my friend, who is also attending the Seminar, if she wants to go.

There's things going on all day at Barley Hall, but the evening event (for which there are only a few tickets left apparently) probably starts at 7.30, they usually do. The seminar is happening then?
Looking forward to seeing you again anyway :) (Tries to remember where the books are ;) )

I only just came back from holiday and saw this Ian. I am trying to re-arrange things so that I can come up. I often come up to York and Bedern Hall as I belong to York Guild of Freemen so an excuse for an extra visit is great.

Well, we had the mini-gather, which began with me, LL, WG, kc & Dancer (as she's known here these days), & ended with just me, LL, & kc. But we did drink a Baileys toast to those who couldn't make it, & there are pics (when LL gets round to uploading them ;) )
