Made ya look.
Did you know that I turn 20 in just 4 days? This coming Monday I will be 2-0. Now...my question for you guys is:
When is it too late to turn back and be four again? When I was four, everything was wonderful. I could wear my odd little orange and black dress that I never went anywhere without. I was small. I was cute. I was athletic and UBER hyper. Did I mention I was small?
Why is it that when you reach a certain age you become known as "chubby"?
And then you reach that age that defines us all - the one I am about to be leaving - teenagedom. In this age you develop a personality. This personality could be more attitude than anything else. Or it could be...any number of things.
You start out at 13. You're now a teenager. Wow.
Then it's 14. Still a teenager. Yep.
Then it's 15 and you start thinking about BOYS :scared:. Us girls are like, well he's hot. And he's not. We start wanting to wear makeup. (Shaving legs and deodorant came at 12). We start doing our hair meticulously. Well, at this age I was still athletic to an extent and not-so-uber hyper. I wore jeans. You could not get me to wear makeup to save my life. My hair was (and still is) always in a ponytail. I watched all the other girls go out. Some of them got pregnant at this time. I stayed home and had no life to speak of whatsoever. I read books and watched tv and tried to ignore my mom enough so we wouldn't fight.
Then, you're 16. You get your driver's license. OMG Everybody off the road. You think you are G-d's gift to the Highway Department (or DPS...whatever). But...still a teenager. Yep. Wow. Made it four years into it, and I still have that knack to annoy the parents greatly. At 16 I was driving. Yes. Wow. I ot my first car ('76 Chevy Nova). It had it's own set of problems that I wil not get into right now. If I did anything (and I mean ANYTHING) that my mom thought was wrong she would take away my license as though I were some kind of demon spawn heathen. Oh well.
 17. What will we do? We're gonna go out to Prom. OMG. Prom. *squeals* We get all poofed and puffed and purdyfied. And then our date shows up in his moms jalopy. And we go into the dance with a stain on our dress...but there's always Senior Prom, right? That is, after all, the one that really matters. This was just practice.
18 and here comes Senior Prom (which I was banned from BTW :shhh:). You go and it's the same thing as your Junior prom only one year later. You give in to the peer pressure about after Prom. You know what I mean, and if you don't I ain't explainin' it to you because you're probably too young. Did I just say that? Oh hell, sex. You gave in and had sex with someone. There. I said it. Now, chances are you were drunk out of your mind and woke up to someone other than your Prom date drooling on your arm. What will you do now? Go off to school the next Monday and tell no one, but he brags. It's just as bad and sucky as every other year of High School. :irked:
Graduation. Woop dee doo. You sit through hours on end of old people blabbing and then you throw the square piece of cardboard that has been taped, clipped, or otherwise stuck to your head. Then you go to the after party where you cry your eyes out and vow to see everybody over the next year though you know it'll never happen. You get pictures of people you'll probably never see again and won't remember the names of in the next year.
Then you're where I am...stuck on the cusp at the end of the teenagedom. What will I do? And is it really too late to turn back and be four again?
:deadtired:
I know there was really no point to this. I'm just bored and posting at 030 in the morning my time.
:deadtired:

Congrats on being 20! I enjoyed being 20. :) Would have more if people didn't still assume I was FIFTEEN at the time though!
Well you can turn back and be 4 pretty much whenever you like. Haven't you noticed that MOST college kids (of both genders) are (at some point) usually whiny, selfish, rude, inconsiderate, messy, and don't listen to people older than they are. *chuckles* Seems a lot like most of the children I know (again, sometimes. No one I know is that way ALLL the time). And both 4 and 20 year olds get cranky if they don't get their nap, and like to push limits.
So yeah, you can be 4 again. :)
Personally, I'm rather glad to be 25. Mentally, I think I missed teenage-hood pretty much entirely. While I can tell you which males I thought were hot and which were not (half that list was over 40 years old...and Leo DiCaprio was NEVER on it I am proud to say), somehow I never felt the need to rebel against my parents, date, wear tight clothes (fitted and stylish yes...tight no. BAD look for women with REAL curves!), or watch MTV or VH1. My idea of a college party involves food and talking for hours, and maybe some dancing but for that it was usually swing or something like that. My friends and I discussed politics, literature, film (in the academic style as well as "what I like"), and laughed at the 'current fashions.'
I wouldn't mind reliving just about any age...EXCEPT Junior High. That is 2 years of my life I would really like to white out. Though I'd like to get rid of all the required socialization in school that happened from ages 6-13. People that age are MEAN to each other! Not that that improves in all cases either.
And I have no excuse for my babbles...it's not 3:30am! Though it might as well be for all the sleep I get with a 1 month old in the house. ;)

I know I cannot drink....dernit. :irked: I like my screwdrivers. Even though they are in a large cup with less than a finger of vodka in them. (I canNOT hold my liquor and just that much makes me fall asleep).
Anywho...I'm still developing. I was told in psych that the brain does not fully develop until about the age 22...I've come to believe that this is true based on the behavior of most people under about...say...50. And even then some are just immature and petty.

As my friend said to me in the card she gave me on my twentieth birthday, "Congratulations on reaching the 1/5 of a century mark."
Admirably, I refrained from whacking her with the other present, a frying pan. (I like to cook. It was meant well.) Nowdays, I laugh, cruelly, when I hear people at school bemoaning getting old when they turn 20, 21, etc. I am closer to 30 than 20. Talk to the hand!
As one of my chef-instructors pointed out, you're not even the same person at 29 as you were at 20. You do a ton of growing, emotionally and mentally, through the decade.

It is really funny that you ask if you can still be 4 years old? I just recently turned 21 a few months ago, meaning in July and on the 19th. I am happy, but I have a kind of complex because I don't feel my age, I usually don't feel my age until that year is halfway gone for me. In fact, I ask new friends what age they believe I am and they usually guess 18 years old. It is ironic, I should be happy, but it sometimes bothers me and yet makes me laugh since I sometimes feel older than 21 years or whatever current age I am. I even scare my parents, relatives, and friends sometimes because they don't understand what I mean and I also at times, surprise them when I know about things I shouldn't know about yet. I guess some people would believe I am an old soul since I know things that they don't know at their current age, even though they have lived longer than me. For example, I, in a very small way, understand the type of love that the Lord has for us since I learned that the Lord knew about us for more years than we humans could possibly understand and his love seems to be bottomless with all the humans there are in the world today. Just like I said earlier, I scare or just shock some people since I shouldn't know, or even understand even a little bit of that concept since I am either younger or in some cases, older than them. I even amaze myself :box:.
And Bane, you can turn back the clock to be four again, in some ways; however, once you arrive to your current age like 20 years old, you will from then on feel every age you were before. You usually only feel this way at certain times in the day(s), week(s), month(s), and even year(s). I hope I didn't confuse everyone again.

The legal drinking age is 18 in Alberta, only 10 1/2 months to go for me! :D Though alcohol is so insanely expensive, and there are very few kinds that I find palatable anyway, that I will rarely drink. I'll try Baileys once just to see if I like it, but it's a pure waste of money considering the miniscule portions you get :shake:

Well, where I live it's more like...
Age of 8 - start thinking about make-up.
Age of 10 - start being attracted to boys.
Age of 12 - start dating, already know how to make out, and already know what sex is.
Age of 13 - teenager-dom. Anyone who is 13 automatically has the right to be in a very pissy mood.
Age of 15 - by now, most girls/dudes are no longer virgins. Some have already been picked off by drugs, others tobacco products, and others anorexia or suicide. Some become drunks. Some drop out of high school. Some get pregnant. Some figure out they're gay. Only a small amount of people are 'normal', if you catch my drift.
Age of 18 - prom, and I don't even want to go there. Some years, it's really bad where I live.
Graduation - only a good 40 kids graduate a YEAR at our local high school, which is another really bad thing. :F
Yeah, I'm aware that's very sad. But I hate my town; I find that I'm much smarter than everyone else. :irked:

Ok. I live in a semi tame town. (graduated somewhere else) We have, on average, about 5 kids graduate each year. It's pathetic. The REALLY sad thing is is that that's the ENTIRE senior class. They all graduate. And the valadictorian may or may not have an average of above 85. I'm not kidding.
I graduated 33rd out of 60 at a different school.
So, with the aforementioned info:
8: smoking something
10: knows everything about everything having to do with the human body and it's sexual organs.
15: probably already has at least one kid, and another on the way.
18: dropped out of school at fifteen to take care of baby. back on drugs. work at MickeyD's.
20: got fired from MickeyD's. Not working. On welfare. Like welfare. Don't ever want to be off and work again.
That is the average female here.
for the males:
8: don't care. just wanna go huntin'.
10: still don't care. just wanna go huntin'. and get that little girl over there t raise her skirt. So far I've only seen a female goat.
15: Got the girl to raise her skirt and then some. Got her pregnant too. I can't afford the baby so I don't acknowledge that it's probably mine.
18: Have three kids, another on the way by yet another girl. Not working. Dropped out of school a few years back. Doing all sorts of drugs.
20: still doing drugs. it's amazing that I even have kids with what drugs do to sperm count. i doubt they're actually mine.
That is what the majority of this town is like. Te ones that go to college don't have fun. The ones that have fun wind up living off my tax money. I have GOT to get out of this town.

I'm 24, soon to be 25 and you know what? after the thrill of being able to do whatever you want passes, it's really not that much different. For me, things are a little different, i'm one of those people who refuse to grow up. I don't mean i dont go out to work, i do my damndest to make sure my kids are raised right and i still find time to go out and study at university, i just refuse point blank to stop seeing things through a kids perspective. The way i see it, if you forget how to look at things with wonder, if you forget how to have fun with simple things, then you aren't really living, you're just existing as the world tells you that you should. It doesn't matter how old you are darlin' you go out and do what appeals to you at that moment in time, don't ever let anyone take away your inner child. I didn't and while a lot of people don't like me because i have fun like that, i have far more friends who think im the greatest thing since sliced bread (don't ask me why, i think they're insane!)
before i go here's a run down of things in leeds, England.....
8: oooh boys, quick make up!
10: ooooh sex...sounds fun!
15: shut up screaming brat im trying to get a joint rolled here...
18: cleaning jobs suck
20: duuuuhh....whatever brain cells i had are fast disappearing
25: in jail, prostitute, drugs...a select few holding down jobs and doing something with their lives
ok rant over lmao have a good birthday darlin'

'Wow guys I cant wait to be ten! Being ten is cool!'
Then after your 10, 12 is cool then 15 is cool then you wanna be 16 to get a car and drive it, 18 to start doing whatever the hell you want then 21 to buy alcohol (USA)
But by then you start thinkin,'wow remember when 10 used to seem old?'lol
Time flies so much faster than you imagine. I feel like I Had no freshman year of highschool!
and to add to the drug at 15 baby at 16, I go to a school where there are 782 kids in my class and 895 freshman this year. Majority of the girls...easy, druggy, drinky, slutty, skinny, too much make up, had sex in 6th grade. Yea...not to mention the guys are extremely superficial...

Uh...I probably won't. 14.5 and I still have the maturity (both physical and mental) of a twelve-year-old. Unfortunately I'm the odd one out. All of my friends started thinking about the opposite (and sometimes same) sex at the beginning of middle school.
I'm a freshman now and high school is SO much better! In middle school everyone was hostile to eachother, lots of angst, "you have no idea what it's like for me" even when you've heard so much about their friggin love lives that it drives you CRAZY. Now I've noticed a huge change. People at my school (the other ones in the area suck btw) are much more supportive instead of "me, Me, ME!" all the time. I love it.
