View Full Version : Do Your Jeans Fit?

Now I don't mean 'Have you lost weight and need to buy new ones/Have you gained weight and need to buy new ones' :D

I mean 'Are your legs too long/too short for the jeans that fit everywhere else?'

I'm short. And skinny. You'd think jeans would be no trouble for me.... wrong :irked: All girls who fit into my size jeans are supposed to be 6' tall, it seems! :borg:

I can NEVER find jeans that I don't have to roll up or re-hem.... even the petite ones don't fit properly.

I bet all the tall people out there have the same problem?

That's one reason I buy Levi's jeans...you can buy them at a certain waist size and leg length. I also can usually find the right length for fancier jeans in the petite section.

I'm both tall and wide, so... Most pants in general, not just jeans, have too short legs for me. I don't own a pair of jeans at the moment, although I wear pants almost exclusively.

I'm short, and had problems finding the perfect fit -- until I started shopping at Old Navy. They have choices in types of fits (at the waist or hip, relaxed or tight) and various lengths. I no longer bother shopping for jeans anywhere else.

I am on the short side too. When I was younger (student) and slimmer I used to shop in the children's depts, which was cheaper, (no VAT) and I could find jeans that fit. Now I am a more womanly shape, it's harder.

This issue affects men, too. I have a 6-foot body set on 5-foot shins, so Levis get my vote (and easy to remember, too - 29" waist, 29" leg!).

But I guess I'm generally mis-shapen; I have a 17-inch neck and broad shoulders, so when I buy a shirt, my finger-tips don't even reach the cuffs. And few shirts are tapered these days, so I get all this extra material to scrunch round my waist.

Genetics . . .bah!

i generally can find a style of jeans that fit me perfectly and keep buying only that brand/style until they change..then i get to hunt for a new one. (I used to have a fav style of levi's that fit..they discontinued that style and now i have to buy Old Navy..LOL)

I can do that with lots of things - but not jeans/slacks.... track-pants for 'women' never fit me... But the bargains to be had in the 14-16yrs section!

'S'not funny; tailors have made a fortune out of me over the years :banghead: Susan was 6' exactly (183cm); I'm just under 5'8' (172cm). We matched shoulder to shoulder, hip to hip, knee to knee; then her legs kinda . . . . continued. Mine didn't :D.

But I had the better calves :redfruit:

Killer legs for a kilt, too

Well I'm just DYING to see a picture of that! ;)

I got a new sewing machine for Xmas - time for me to take a tailoring class, I think.

Too tall. I wear a 36" inseam, anything else is highwaters. Even "tall" sizes only have a 34 inch inseam. And to make matters worse, I have a very short torso, so the ultra talls that I occasionally find have a torso much too long.

There is ONE brand I have found that regularly makes my size: Rocky Mountain Jeans. Only problem is that they cost $70/pair. Far beyond my budget!

So I wear denim leggings when necessary, but my wardrobe mostly consists of skirts, shorts or scooter-skirts, no matter the weather.

sighs too short

SOMETIMES tho in a petite shop (why do ppl think that short ppl are wide?)
or in the children's section I can find something that fits reasonably well

"Not any more since I quit smoking, so I had to buy new one ones and donate my old ones to my son's wardrobe..."

So, who cares

I like my Wranglers :D I can always find them in the size I want.

Sharon

The yes option is the closest one. Length isn't the problem. It's girth, the waist needs to fit, but that makes the jeans baggy in the upper leg and lower butt.

The person who really has problems with jeans is my dad. He's shrunk over the years. His inseam is now 25", so whenever he gets jeans or any pants he has to take them to get altered before he can wear them.

I've given up on jeans. I'm on the short wide side and like Sharon if it fits in the waist then the butt is baggy. Add to that, for my height I've got long legs and a low waist, jeans just aren't an option anymore. Too blasted uncomfortable.

I couldn't vote; my jeans never really fit but it's not because of my height.

I'm pretty much "normal"sized, but for some reason most jeans don't fit well around my waist: on the front they're fine, but on the back they're too loose, so I have to wear a belt. Well, someday when I'm not a poor student anymore, I'll buy Levi's or Diesels or something that really fit - I love jeans!

I always buys jeans from Only (have only seen the brand in Denmark though) and they always fit :) .
I once bought a really nice pair of jeans from Indiska Magasinet, and they fit me like they were made for me, but now I can't fit them anymore  . I liked the jeans so much that I just don't seem to be able to part with them - they are lying on a shelve waiting for my thighs to lose weight  .

I have a 29" inside leg (or in seam) so I can never get ant kind of trouser to fit. They're always 28" or 30". I usually go for the longer as I rarely wear anthing other than boots. For formal wear it has to be a job for the seamstress of the house.

I can't buy slacks of any sort in any department store. I truly believe they are all made for alien creatures who are about 7 feet tall and weigh about 80 pounds! I try on a pair that fit my waist and there is always about 4 inches dragging on the floor. So, I buy from LL Bean or Lands End and get the petite sizes. I don't consider myself THAT short, at 5'3"!

I can usually find jeans to fit. That is not my problem with clothes.

What I have a problem with is regular pants. Or the Scrub pants I wear for work. Those fit everywhere but the length. Those ALWAYS need to have a hem taken. And THEN they are to short. Or don't hang right.

I loved Wranglers when I was in college.... I could ALWAYS get a good fit. Not anymore. I currently have two pair of denim pants...elastoc waist. I HATE them, so I don't wear them much.

Maybe when I can lose the weight......

I'm too tall. Either they fit right on the length and are a bit loose around the waist, which I don't mind too much, or they fit right at the waist and hang just above my ankle bone. Won't get'em wet that way though. :D

Long sleeved shirts and coats is what I have the most issues with though. My arms are two inches longer than they should be, so when I get something that's the right length on my torso, the arms are too long and bag up at my wrist. Makes me look like a little kid in his dad's shirt. But if I get one that's right on the arms, then it's like..........a quarter of the way or more to my knees already, so I have to tuck it, although most of the time I don't.

I'm short, so most jeans are too long for me. I've been wearing denim leggings for the past couple of years, but now I can't find them anymore. So I'm on a jeans hunt again.

I have to agree with Apocalyps Xhack. You can't go around saying things like that without giving us a picture. Now I am really curious ;)

I used to wear Cars, and they fitted great, but now I can´t find them anywere anymore, at least not the womens fit. And I won´t even try the mens fit, I have hips thank you very much and they just won´t fit in mens jeans.
Lately I have been finding jeans that fit in a postorder shop, but the problem with those jeans is that, while they fit great and are really comfy they tend to get holes very quickly. I get about three months wear out of them, and they are just a bit to expensive for that. So I am still looking for the right jeans, with the right quality.

I'm a fairly bog standard height at 6' (183cm), so I don't really have a problem with length. Jeans this length usually come with a waist size of about 32", but this doesn't bother me - I just wear a belt.

I'm only 5'2, so I have NEVER found a pair of jeans that I haven't had to hem. I also can't find a pair that fits exactly right..... They need to make inbetween sizes.

I love wearing Jeans, where i can find some that fit me!

they are either to short, or if i can find some realy long ones, more often then not they are to huge waist size (even with a belt) for me!!!!

Ok, well, the poll's closed but I do have slight problems finding jeans that fit. I have a pretty thin waist but bigger hips so anytime I try jeans that fit my waist they are snugger than I like on the hip area and if I try jeans to fit my hips they're too large in the waist. Usually the second is the option I take though because I can always wear a belt and not have to worry about it as much.

You should try Levi jeans Neo. I'm 5'2" also and their jeans come in short, medium or tall lengths so I have no trouble finding ones that are the right length.
