Have you always wanted to play a game with friendly BoD's who
weren't hoarding all the shinies and HAD's for themselves?
Have you always wanted to play a game where the quality of roleplay,
not the number of posts, was more important?
Have you ever wanted to play a game from its very birth, watching it
grow and knowing that you were an integral part of its success?

Those are exactly the kinds of questions that we're trying to
solve here at Weyrs of Pern (WoP).

So.... What makes Weyrs of Pern special?
* The BoD is there to facilitate your ideas and schemes. They're there to help you have fun, not to make themselves happy by forming plotlines around their own shiny goldrider HAD. In fact, the BoD has to earn the right to Impress, or hold any ranking persona, just like the rest of you! (Meaning, if they've got a candidate on the sands, they have no part in deciding who gets Impressed -- they're as blind as any other player). Player input holds alot of weight for us, and your ideas and suggestions really do matter.
* We loved Anne's world so much, we couldn't choose just one area! At the moment, Weyrs of Pern has two PC areas, Fort Weyr and Fort Hold, and is leaving plenty of room to expand with 5 other weyrs and countless holds. Part of the fun of RPing is being in different places, and we plan to opening the other areas whenever there's interest, allowing for more ranking personas (though, really... aren't all characters special?)
* We have a searchable persona list, as well as a searchable clutch list. Our clutch list was specifically designed to spread the dragonrider populace over a broad range of ages, so that you're not living in a weyr filled with 15-turn old candidates and 20-turn old riders!
* We allow both Full-Post and Round Robin style formats. Why limit ourselves? We want you to be able to express your creativity in your most comfortable fashion.
* For you message boarders out there, we fully support YahooGroups' archive feature, which allows you to clear out your e-mail inbox and choose to view the messages on the YahooGroups site instead. You can even view them in a messageboard-esque threaded view to help keep your storylines straight.
* Lurkers are always welcome!
