I'd just like to say that, in my opinion, Restoree is the best book Anne has ever written, as well as being my favourite. :heartbeat

Restoree is one of my favorites, as well. :good:
Are you new to the KT, Jamnar? Or were you on the old KT, as well? :) If not, Welcome! :bouncy:

No, I tried to join to old KT last year, but we were having some problems at home so I never got around to registering.
This new KT is an improvement on the old, from what I saw of it.
I used to post on alt.fan.mccaffrey when it was listed on Dejanews, before the whole deja thing wound up - that was a while back.

Mmm - how to put this in a soundbite?
Ugly unloved girl gets kidnapped by aliens, rescued, wakes up beautiful, frees planet's hero from conspiracy, helps to save planet, falls in love with hero, helps save Earth from aliens. The End.
But of course it's more than that, and AMC's best-ever book.

My all-time favorite book by Anne is The Rowan, if you judge by how many times I've re-read it. Moreta is second fave.

Well...my fav. book? By Anne? Since I haven't read this, 'Restoree', I would have to say that so far my fav book is probably 'The Masterharper of Pern'. Non Pern book would be No One Noticed the Cat.

I'm still exploring Pern.
I've been thinking about tasting some of her other works when I'm caught up with Pern.
Out of the Pern books that I have read, I'd say my favorite was either Dragonsong (the very first book I've read from her) or Dragonseye.

Asides from the whole Pern series, my favourite Anne book is my omnibus of The Crystal Singer!

Favorite? It's so hard to narrow it down to just one. It might be Dragonsdawn (that last line does me in every time). Damia is another contender.

Oh to narrow it down to just one! Thats tough! They're all so good! If I based it on how many times I've read it, it would probably have to be either Killashandra (and of course the rest of the CS serries) or All the Weyrs of Pern! I cry every time Robbinton dies! I know, I'm a big ol' sap when it comes to that! But be honest, don't you cry too???

I can never decide which of Anne's books is my favorite. I have a top twenty list that constanly shifts around, but Restoree is on that list. I have even found a copy on ebay that I am waiting for. :D :D

I'd have to say my favorite depends on the mood I'm in. Restoree is a comfortable old friend that cheers me up when I'm feeling jaded. Of the Pern books it would be Dragonquest or maybe All the Weyrs or, well, I like all the Pern books. Another I'm fond of in a different sort of mood is The Lady.

Leaving Pern to one side ;) my favourite AMC book is "The Lady". It's a cracking good story, involves horses, and shows a strong woman character and a strong female juvenile making their way through a conservative society and winning out :good:

I can't really name a favorite, I just know that Restoree is definately NOT one of them. Neather is the Planet Pirates or Dinosaur Planet books.
But if I HAD to say a favorite it would be The Doona series I reckon. (definitely subject to change of course.)

The Rowan and Damia. Moreta is my favorite Pern book, and I also love Nimisha's Ship and The Ship Who Searched more than the others.

Well, it's not my favorite, but I did read the Coelura this week since I had the title and all. The book that the library carries is a lovely illustrated novelette. I really enjoyed it and think that's a wonderful concept for an alien creature.:ok:
BTW... Granath, what does your siggy mean?:erm:
