I've finally found a copy of the game for PC but it's called 'The Chronicles of The Dragon Riders of Pern'!
Is this the usual ‘run of the mill’ game or not?
I shall throw a tantrum if I’ve got the wrong one!

Sounds like the right one :) There's only ever been two, & the old one for the Commodore 64 & Atari XL/XE was just called Dragonriders of Pern & was based on the board game (which did mean you actually got to fight Thread!).

Yep, it sounds like it's the right one. My pc version says Chronicles of Pern Dragon Riders
I hope it works fine on your computer, and that you have a lot of fun playing it. :ok:

I'll lend it to you when I've played it a bit!

Do you want I should keep an eye out and let you know if there's one going for a silly price?

I think your compie would run it Red, it would just be slower than slow. And it ain't like the game is fast anyway. ;)

I ran Dragonriders on a 350MHz P2, but I had a 32Mb graphics card in it, and that made the difference. If you have a decent graphics card it'll play OK, if you haven't, it won't. It doesn't need to be anything ultra-modern, but I'd say 32Mb is a minimum. Oh, and a lot of RAM helps too (I had 320Mb).

So a 64 meg graphics card, 512 RAM and 400 mhz Pentium 2 should be ok then lol.
NVIDIA GeForce card too :D

That's better than I had in all respects, so you shouldn't have a problem :)
