Favourite Singer?

Been done before but we're in a new place now and so can enjoy everything over again :D

So, which is your favourite singer and more importantly why...?

Did you fall for Lars Dahl? Did you desire Lanzecki? Were you crying out for more Killashandra? Would you rave about Rimbol?

I shall reserve my choice for later on... I'll let you get thinking first!

They all have their points, but my favorite is Rimbol. Probably because we don't see all that much of him once he goes to the ranges, so we don't see him as an arrogant singer. Killa was like that before she ever came to Ballybran, but Rimbol seemed like a very nice, easygoing guy. I cried when I found out he totaled his mind...

If I have to pick a 'singer', then it has to be Trag.

He just seems to be so 'there', iykwim. He was always on top of everything...Lanzecki couldn't do without him...they sent Trag when Killa went missing...etc.

Now if I can pick any character from the series, then it's Donalla.

As a medic/researcher she did plenty for the guild. When Lars needed a way to get more crystal, she figured out how to retrieve co-ordinates from inactive singers. Without that, Lars could have never have gotten his new programs started.

I just wish AMC would write more CS books...lol

My favourite singer would be Rimbol.. he was so laid back, easy going, and always tried to make everyone feel welcome and part of the group.. like Shillawn (do i have his name right?? *mumbles about posting from w*rk).. he even tried to talk to Carrigana. He also had a great sense of humour.

Yes, we didn't see him as the arrogant Singer, but we don't REALLY know that he was like that either... I would have loved to read more on him.

A few votes for Lars but so far I think Rimbol is winning :cool:

And quite ajustified leader in this case I think... Definately the most humourous and friendly of all the singers mentioned. He was one of a kind really, despite all those around him and although we don't know how he filled the years, **SPOILER** I was still awfully sadenned by his loss later in the books.

Rimbol, we miss you! And Anne... you couldn't possibly take a few months out to perhaps tell his story...? :begsmilie:

I try to stay away from the mainstream chars sometimes, but I do have to say I love Killa. There were some points I could indentify with her so much that it's hard not to love her!!!

Speaking of CS, I must go back and read them! It's been too long!!!! :cry:

Favorite singer....Rimbol. Years after reading the books I still remember I totally liked his character. I too was saddened when he lost his mind.

My point exactly. We see him as a bright young man determined to be a Singer, and then we see him as an old man with no mind. We know what happened to him in the end, but not in the middle.

Actually, there's a good chance that he did turn out like Moksoon or Carrick - we know he ends up having to live the rest of his life in the infirmary after some sort of "event" - I can't remeber if he stayed out in the ranges too long or off planet. He did lose his memory - he didn't know who Killashandra was.

I have TWO favorite singers. My two favorites are Lars Dahl and Killashandra, but I can't pick one. I mean, Lars is one of my two favorites because all throughout Killashandra he seemed to be there. And then, he fell in love with Killashandra and became a crystal singer to be with her!

Killashandra is just a character that I think that most readers can relate to. Plain as that.

I lost the love for Lanzecki after Lars Dahl was introduced, but I haven't read Crystal Line yet, so I may change my mind.

I liked Trag, actually. He had to have the strength to go into the Ranges and break Lanzecki's thrall. Later on, I would have killed Bollam myself without ever letting him get near enough to the GM to let him die. I guess I fell for Lanzecki and Trag in that regard.

I found that I really liked Trag. I was really upset when he died.. and Lanzecki!! I'd forgotten about that part :(

I do like Lars though and am a little mad at Killa right now meh... but yes I like those guys, and I DO still like Killa

i seem to be the only one who likes lanzecki! i just think the way he handles every crisis without getting ruffled is excellent plus he manages to keep all the singers happy (or at least as happy as they can be) and on the plus side he also seems (from what anne lets us know) to be a very good lover too so he is definately my choice no contest lol
