Which single talent, of those mentioned in the books, would you most like to have. No combinations, no specific levels of ability, just a single ability...?

Telepathy? Empathy? Telekinesis? Finder? There're a whole range to consider, each with their own set of bonuses so think hard then let us know what you'd most desire?

Healing. Most useful.

I would choose the gift of languages. They fascinate me. :)

Each talent has its "price", too....

However, given the current cost of gas, the incredible amount of traffic in my area, and my love of travel...TELEPORTATION has a lot of appeal.

Telekinesis for me, as I'm always forgetting things and having to go and fetch them  I know you say we can't combine, but AIVAS says telekinesis and teleportation go together - so if I can have one, I can have both! :darkside:

I have to agree with that one. Especially when my best friend lives an hour away... if I could teleport we could be there for each other as much as we'd really like to.

As long as you understand there are two roooms in my house you'd better NOT transport yourself directly into......

Telepathy...The ability to read other people's minds or talk to them over long distences!! No cell phone needed.

Teleportation. Then I could get up 5 minutes before I had to be at work and still make it there on time. :good:

I think a finder but, not items that are newly lost but things that have been missing for years. I'd love to be able to find a family photo that was misplaced 100 years ago and return it. A rare book that has been tucked away in an attic of an old building and then abandoned, that sort of thing. Finding the boss's missing watch just isn't the same.

Teleportation. Oh to be able to avoid traffic jams!

Finder! Deffinately a Finder! Do you have any idea how many times a week I can't find my car keys?? Or how often I've misplaced my favorite pen, or the check book? It really gets annoying! If I was a finder, then I'd know exactly where to go to find my items and thereby avoid alot of yelling at the husband and the kid! So yes, for me Finder would be the one most useful talent in my life! But then, knowing my luck, I'd forget how to use that ability anyways! :banghead:

It would be interesting if people had a secondary talent as well. :) :) :D :D My main talent would be Finder. My roommate has lost some money. :( :(

Telekinsis so I could grab my children no matter how far away I was. :fiend:

I'd have teke, and use it to fly! Or at least hover some distance off teh ground!

Telepathy! In this environment, you could make one heck of a spy or a diplomat!

More seriously, telepathy would allow one to interact more effectively in a group. You can avoid all sorts of unpleasantness if you can see the thought behind the thought. No misunderstandings. No fuss. You can call and recieve help quickly, you can speak to loved ones far away and carry over ideas to colueges much more efficiently.

definitely 'port... I get my feelings hurt too easily to do 'path... seeing what people really think of me? *shudders*

Well geez...I'm already a Precog...which can be a heck of a pain so if I had my druthers I'd choose 'Port...I like the idea of not having to drive everywhere...especially the long distance things.

*Oh...It's 8:59. Time to be at work*

*Oh...5:00. Time to be at home*

Oh, if only!!! :D

I would seriously want to be a 'porter

1. Being able to go over your friend's house without your parents knowing.
Convo over phone:
Friend: So, you'll be over soon?
You: Yeah, real soon. Bye.
Hang up phone, 'port to friend's bedroom, come out.
Friend: HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU GET HERE SO FAST?

2. Being able to sneak your friends out of their parent's houses when their grounded.

Likely medical empath or healing or Empath (general) I'd have to say... if I could have one of those. Empath would be nice as I have unfortunately general problems with Empathy in RL due to issues that are hard to explain.

I would have to say a finder. I lose too many things!

Like my car keys... they've been lost for nearly a week now.

I created a character for a fanfic who could read the minds of the dead. Only the dead, never the living. I had a name for that sort of Talent and for the life of me, I can't remember it, tied into a sort of weird belief you find in Scots folklore about some women being able to feel the thoughts of the dead after they pased away. Her problem was that she couldn't touch anything outside of a single, sterilised room. I wrote it that when she was a child, she loved going to graveyards and stuff because "There were always friendly people there" and when she got older, she realised that the people were the dead - and not just the ones in the graves, but hundreds of thousands of people, all visible, all talking, everything. Her empathic ability was so sharp, so refined that even coming into contact with a single skin cell was enough to trigger what she referred to as "God's curse" (the idea that the skin cell was effectively dead, so she suddenly saw and felt everything that the skin cell's host human had felt up until the time when that cell had come away from the body). So she lived alone, literally in a room at the top of a tower, cursed to an existence of isolation and social deprivation.

I wouldn't exactly want *that* for a Talent.

I would, however, love to have the Talent of manipulating matter on the atomic and sub-atomic level. Could be entertaining at parties.

Well, since I already have a modicum of telepathy and a fairly strong empathy, I reckon I would love to be a teleporter just to round it all out.

*oohs* Difficult choice between 'path and 'port... As much as I'd like to be able to 'port, I think 'pathing might be more useful, consindering the cost of keeping in contact with people at home...
(Though cutting out airplane costs and randomly appearing at home on the odd weekend would be nice too! ^^)

I'd say the same as Mist here... Path directly to my family, and Port too... And also go to places too and visit people from online

'Path "Hey Mist want some company"
*Yeah? When?
*PORT*
"Right now...
Mist."EEK!"

heheh J/k Mist :P

Right now...teleportation

  would then teleport my next door neighbors and their entire property to Jupiter!!! One way ticket!!! :darkside:

Just can't understand why some people cannot have consideration for their neighbors and maintain their property at SOME level.

It is a most pleasant fantasy!!! :D

I was going to say finder, but after reading the other posts, I think teleporting would be incredibly cool. I hate traveling! :P

Telekinesis. It's better than having a remote control.

it's a tough choice between teleporting and telekinesis, but in the end, I'd much rather be able to move things with my mind, so telekinesis it is! If I was really good, maybe I could fly.

Teleporting, telekinesis, and Telepathy...
All good choices, but I would pick teleporting so I could go to college in Philadelphia and go home to Florida for the weekends.
I would certianly save a lot of money on airplane tickets.

I'm already a bit of an Empath, but I'd like to upload the stronger version if possible. A medical Empath would be great or Healing.

Sarah

Hi, I'm a strong Empath, and do know how to upgrade this talent. If you're interested, and would like to know how to develope your talent, then leave me a message here.

Your ability to teleport is directly related to your telekenic talent. You can't teleport if you're not telekenetic. Essencially you are using your telekenisis to move youreself rather than another object so teleportation is just an extention of telekenisis. Therefore I definatly pick Telekenisis! I can clean my house and pop accross the country when ever I want to visit my mother all in one ability! Hehe! :)

Definitely telekinesis. I work in a prison. The possibilities with that Talent would be endless....

Brenda

I'm sure it would make breaking up fights a lot less dangerous for you!

Bane
22nd September 2006, 10:21 PM
Meh. Haven't been many fights. And besides, we have this interesting gas that makes them run like roaches in the light. What fun would telekinesis be there? Not be able to use the gas? :faint: Nope. I was thinkin more along the lines of practical jokes played to the detriment of offenders and for the utter entertainment of me.

They go for the hotpot, and it disappears! Or just teleport a bunch of bats into their cells at night. They hate bats. Oh, the possibilities!

Brenda
23rd September 2006, 07:51 PM
Okay, I was just thinking you could restrain people before they hurt themselves, others, or you; but I had the feeling you weren't talking about the practical aspect anyway! :D

I wouldn't want precognition. It's a pain in the arse, knowing only part of the picture.

I'd have to go with TK, so I could teleport myself around!
