Whats going to happen to the temporary AKT?

We haven't discussed it in depth yet but I wasn't planning to transfer posts from AKT to here. AKT was, and this was hopefully clear to all, just a temporary location, actually only of real importance if we couldn't have this board finished in time.

It was my personal answer to the sad news Todd had to bring. Thus it is also my board and will revert to me.
Yes, you will have a grace period,one of several months I think. While the board will revert to me I must also say that I have no intention whatsoever of starting a board of my own, nor one under the wings of teh Pern Museum & Archives.

I will probably close the board at the end of this Turn :)

LOL, i had more posts at the AKT than at the KTBB.. LOL.. oh well, i'm happy at least one of the post counts could transfer over.. only took me some 2 or 3 years to get to the 142 i was at on the KTBB.. LOL :) (Of course, now i practically LIVE on these boards...). And now i'm off to work.. let's see if i can access these boards from work without quota time like i could the AKT *EG* (the KTBB used quota time..other forums dont let me access them at ALL..so wish me luck!!!)

The AKT was indeed a very usefull tool but as stated, doesn't really serve a purpose now! Horrible for the board but true!

I hope we're as quick to all embrace this place and take it forwards. I see no reason to not!

Should some technical problem occur to this board that keeps it off line for several hours or days or longer, you could use the AKT as an emergency board for keeping the membership informed on the status of repairs and such. And probably not allow any posting not related to the status updates, too.

Wouldn't it be more sensible to just keep an email list? The set of people who agreed to emails from admins is likely to intersect with that of those who will check the AKT for status reports :)
