SInce the masses (well, 19 anyway) have spoken & York has been chosen as the location for next year's gather (which means I get to organise it again  ), we now need to choose when to hold it.

Unfortunately, being a year-round tourist city, York doesn't have an off-season the way seaside resorts do, but obviously it is busier during the school holidays than at other times of the year, when it's just busy ;)

So, get voting! Again I'm not making this multiple-choice, because we need a clear winner. If there is a tie at the end of the poll then we'll have another to settle the matter.

Note that the first weekend in September isn't an option as we'll be at Dragon*Con then.

All dates are Friday-Sunday.

I voted 8th-10th September because that's the first weekend I can make it... Although 15th-17th would be ok as well.

After that I'll really be swamped under schoolwork, so... ^_^

We shall see.

Think this will be the problem, those of us in work want it outside school hols, those of who are in education in some way want it during hols! Ah well...... I'm sure i'll deserve one weekend off over the summer?

Any one know when the Autumn Half term is next year?

Autumn half-term is usually mid-October, at least up here.

At which point I will be snowed under with masses of coursework  Mid October is evil for that...and the last three weeks of a semester *slumps tiredly down in her chair wishing it were next thurday*

Since I have to graduate this year, I have no idea what time I will be available!

You know, I have yet to meet a student who couldn't find time to get drunk! C'mon guys..... its only 2 days.... all work and no play makes KTers dull peoples!

Only joking guys, but it's be great to have a proper big gather like we did in the "day". You never know, I might even buy the first round! (Tap water anyone? )

The problem being that by then I WON'T be a student!

Our students had no problem making the first two, which were both in early October. Simon has a point about numbers though; we had over 50 at the first one (Blackpool), & over 40 at the second (York), and yet, despite having a lot more UK members, last year we only managed about 15 (early November). We really need to get the numbers up, more chance of a group discount that way :) Once we've decided on a date I'll start a new thread where peeps who are coming can "sign in" so I can give the hotel an idea of how many to expect. Let's keep this thread just for date discussions though :)

As i recall .... an "in the day" gather usually spells DOOM and Disaster for Chairs, Carpets and other Furniture Products ... do you need photographic reminders

Just a reminder that there's only a week left on this poll, & the numbers have been even lower than the location poll so far :( Remember, if you don't vote, you can't complain about the final result...

I am not voting simply because I have no time at which I will certainly be available, and so I think that it would be unfair for me to vote.

So, we have a winner, though the amount of votes is frankly a disgrace. At least this means I won't have to take the Friday off w**k, as I'll still be off as part of my 2 weeks for D*C (we only get back into the country on the Wednesday!).

Now we need to know how many people are coming, cue new thread :)
