We're all supposed to drink about two and a half litres of water a day (that's about five pints for the non-metric amongst us or eight glasses for the further numerically challenged!)
Do you...?

Poll running for two and half litres... erm, four weeks!

not quite that much, but three or four pints (of water) a day generally. (and many many :pint: and :klah: )

I didn't say, though it's clear from the poll results so far...
I try and get through the required litre'age each day but usually end up falling short. I like diet pop and such too much and then I'm too full for the water. However, when I do drink loads of simple water, I loose weight better so I'm making a real effort at the moment!

My real answer: I tend to drink other things but I never reach the daily target wasn't there, so I chose the closest.

Does tea count? If so, YES! :D

*sigh*
No.
Yes, I know that I should, but consider my job: I drive from one place to another -- often not very clean places -- all day long, with appointments in people's homes, and only enough time between those visits to get from one place to another. If I drink, I need bathroom stops. No time for bathroom stops = better drink less.

If 3 glasses of milk and a couple cups of tea count then I'm close. If you mean just plain water, not a chance.

I drink 2.5 litres a day, more sometimes. I am always thirsty and so drink a lot. A fringe benefit................I lose more weight when I drink more :D

Not even close....what plain old water?
My water is very 'hard' and isn't the most pleasant tasting. It is 'spring' type and not supplied by the local water authority which means that chemicals have to be added on a regular basis to prevent a build up of e-coli (and yes a couple of years ago we were prevented from using it at all!).
I don't really have the spare cash for buying bottled water so tend to just drink a lot of coffee, as the water is boiled and bacteria is killed.

Not a chance I'm afraid...

i don't drink ANY water. I get lectured from my doctor constantly, but i always argue that i don't like water (and for anyoen that says water doesn't have a taste..yes it does..it tastes like WATER). I get water from my food (whether veggies or soups), but will not drink it.
Because of it i'm "severely dehydrated", but i've been healthy for the last 26 yrs, so i don't imagine it becoming a problem in the immediate future :)

Yes, I do! :ok: Water is pretty much the only thing I drink, so it's not too hard for me.

meh, probably not. I don't really measure or remember how much I drink. If I'm thirsty I drink - whatever's most accessible. Water, pop, jusice, coffee, klah whatever :D

I try to, but don't always get that much water inside me. Usually about 1.5 to 2 litres of water, next to tea, coffe, juice and other things. At the moment I probably surpass the 2.5 litres as I am continually thirsty as a result of breastfeeding. So right now I think I drink 2.5 to 3 litres a day, next to the other things.
For people who try but just don't remember, I found it works great to just have a half litre bottle of water standing next to you and fill it when it is empty. That way you can sort of keep on top of how much water you have drunk and it is there to take, so you don't have to get up to get it.

Well not really. I'd actually would stop catching little colds all the time if I drank more...*goes off to ponder* Good job though to the properly hydrated among us :ok:

I have a pitcher that I fill every night and keep in the fridge so it's always cold. :) (Can't stand lukewarm water. )

:bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy:That seems to be some sort of "national sport" (among the ladies) at my work. Maybe it also helps some ladies over their hungry feeling and thus to lose weight? if the tummy is full-o-water the hungry feeling doesn't get the upper hand, right? (apart that drinking is said to be good for ya, and I am just waiting till some scientist declares that you can get cancer from drinking too much water!)

I started drinking more water when my doctor told me I should drink a lot more then I was doing. After a while it becomes a habit and you get very thirsty if you drink less than what you are used to.
A lot of people tel me that it helps you lose some weight Hans, but that doesn't seem to be the case with me. EVen drinking two litres a day I still have place in my stomach for cookies and other things like that. Of course right now I am not allowed to diet so I am just avoiding scales and try to eat healthy.

Definitely not.
I like to drink other things like milk or juice, though lately I've taken to drinking plain water more often. I never used to do that.

I did while I was pregnant, but otherwise nope. I do remember my doc telling me you should take in the 8 glasses of water - but it didn't have to be a straight drinking of water. decaf tea was fine, flavored water was fine - prety much anything that was decaf and non-sugared was okay. Plus you do take in water from many of the foods you eat - soups, fruits, and many toher things - so even if you don't drink water, you shouldn't get dehydrated.
