If you were a magical book character, what kind would you be? I got to thinking this after Shiaki and I had an interesting discussion about novels. Would you be a wizard, a werewolf....etc?

Edited - Oops...forgot "vampire", "other", "none", or "PMD" options...if you want to be something other than these, just post accordingly!

Elf since that's what Lady Legira is in my story :D

I'd be something of my own creation... and by the way, Gollum was a Stoor Hobbit... He's just Waaaaayyyy old.... and changed by the Ring

Something of my own creation - probably an Endrian Flamelord. However, I'd better remember that they have limitations - my son played one as a half-elf in a Dungeons and Dragons type game, and a member of his own party accidentally killed him with a "cone of cold." I didn't make them like that, but it was the decree of the gamesmaster of the day, who then went on to declare "no more super-humans." That was during the time when my son and I were pinching each other's characters.

I wouldn't want to be anything but a Pernese dragon, so that's out... I'd like to be a Gryphon, the kind from Chronicles of Narnia, those rule! :woohoo: Closely followed by an Elf, then a Hobbit :D

I put mage but technically a battle mage: a funky mage that also swings a mean sword (or two):D.

Pernese dragons aren't magical - they were scientifically constructed.

Not on the list, so I didn't vote, but I'd want to be a Carpathian, as in the Christine Feehan Dark series. Basically a non-evil vampire, with magical abilities who can also shape-shift. Greedy, me.:O

I would be a magess with power over elements and the three 'T's (telepathy/telekenisis/teleportation)

You don't have random civilian as an option. Or as I like to call them when I don't have or particularly need a name: NPC. non-player characters for those not in the know. That's right, I'm an NPC, and I've even got the shirt to prove it.

Hippogriff. They're cool! :bouncy:

Wizard/Witch/Mage/etc...

Because I like being human, and would prefer to stay that way. ;)

Unicorn, because they're *Sparkly*!

Something Evil

After giving it some thought, probably a kangard unicorn (http://critters.4.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=850) or a Winter Dragon. (http://critters.4.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=573)

I was really torn between unicorn and dragon, but I have a huge desire to be able to fly, so I picked the latter. :)

Well there's always the option of the pegasus/unicorn combo, ain't there?

;)

Dragon!!!
Huge and scaley, with long claws, horns and teeth and reptilian eyes.
Fire, flying, eating sacrificial virgins...
*Happy sigh*

I would be an elf. After all, I am named after Arwen.

Lali

*glances at the three main characters of her book*

I'd be either a

Weather mage
Shapeshifter

or

Bloodmage. And I like this one because 'tis weird and freaky and all my own creation and I'm not explaining until I've finished the manuscripts. :p

How about a shapeshifting dragon with lots of fun magical powers?

I'm gonna say Dragon--a good Dragon. :)

Persephone: You know what we call NPCs where I come from?

Cannon fodder.

Hm. Toss-up. Vampire or Mage?

Griffin, but very close second would be dragon. In fact I'd say those two are tied.

I chose deity. There's nothing like being a god, especially in a book.

GoldriderAria

Evil question! A pegasus probably. ;) (Or at least, winged horse, since pegasus was technically a specific creature!). Closely followed (in no particular order) by dragon, griffin, or Hobbit.

Tough one....
I want to be a winged human or a creature with wings. I love the idea of being able to fly. If I couldn't be something with wings or have the ability to fly then I would want to be a witch/mage.

Ember
30th October 2006, 06:39 PM
I chose something of my own creation. I like the idea of a warrior mage, and I like the idea of a half-human, half dragon hybrid. Also a lot of the characters/legends of Greek myth were rather cool.

Bane

I chose elf. In my own little world, there is sooooo much possibility with elves.

Second would have been demon, but that's because they play a major part in the story I'm working on.

Behind that was bloodpixie...but those aren't there. Prolly shoulda chose my own creation, but elves are so much fun.

Mage
11th December 2006, 10:21 PM
You know, I should've said the obvious.

... But I didn't.

Mage, all the way. :D Maybe an elven mage. Nah... too cliche.

And I wouldn't mind being a superhero, either.

SpaceCowboy

Although I picked werewolf I'd really be a weregrizzly.

I've always had a preference for those with magical abilities - Mage (etc.)

Brenda

See, whenever I see this thread title what springs to mind are the characters from "The Pagemaster", who are magical books! Those magical book characters were Adventure, Fantasy and Horror, although I don't know that I could limit myself that way...

I would want to be one who it a friend, who woudl help others and only attact to protect myself or my friends in need. :) Or maybe a dolphin-like being :)

Maybe she meant Golem?

I would be a simurgh! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simurgh) :D Aka... my obsession.

From the choices I said WIZARD. I would also like to be a COMPANION, from the Mercades Lackey" books. ( I know I probably misspelled her name)

I voted for Superhero. I've always thought it would be great to have a special power such as the ability to fly or turn invisible or possess super strength. Of course, I can never decide on just one! :)

Cherlyn

Werehorse? Winged werehorse? Werepug? Sunrunner! (did I say that out loud?)

Chimera? Winged centaur?

I've been reading Melanie Rawn and Piers Anthony . . .

Weyrwoman Kalina

I would want to be a dragon, followed by a unicorn, a griffin and an elf. :D
