The discount codes for the hotels at Dragon Con are up for the Marriot. Calla and I are going to attempt to get rooms close together. Anyone else?

Thanks, Kool. We need to get right on this, ourselves. We want two rooms, hopefully near or connecting as Jeff and I are coming and Jenn and her boyfriend, Mike. Our D*C memberships have been ordered, already.

From Calla
OK..I checked into it and here is the deal. If we want...we can request (no promises) that we have rooms next to each other. All that I need is for you to PM me the name you booked your room under and the confirmation number. Then I can fax the request. She said it was a very high probability that they can do this. The sooner we request, the better the chance!
Sound good?
If you guys want to get rooms together please PM Calla :D

If you book two rooms of the same type at the same time they're likely to be together anyway, that's what happened with us last year, LL & I were in 114, BM & H in 115.

Our Dragon*Con postcards arrived in the mail today! Wow, that was fast. We only ordered them about 2 weeks ago! Hooray! (think I'll put them in the safe deposit box, so they don't get lost, end of summer is a LONG way off)

very true - but if you want to have rooms near all the other people that you know who will be at D*C - then you need to request it in the way described above.

Booked our hotel today. We're staying at the Hilton this year, next door to the other two. Got our post cards. Now all that's left is booking flights! :ok:

As all Marriott rooms are now booked (according to the site) I'm thinking about the Hilton.
If I do stay there would you and your family take pity on a poor little English Rose  for walking company ?

The Hilton is literally across the street from the Marriott, which is across the street from the Hyatt.

Call the Marriot on the 1800 number. They usually have rooms up until a week or so before the con.

KC. If you wind up at the Hilton, you're more than welcome to walk back and forth with us. I'm coming with my husband, daughter and her boyfriend, so there should always be someone available. PM me if you are staying there and want my cell phone number to be able to contact me. :ok:

I'm at work now and I don't have it here. I made my reservation in January ;) If I still have it at home I'll post it here for you.

Thanks Kool but I have now booked in at the Hilton. I tried to do the Hyatt as a test but the site wouldn't recognise the codes/date so I thought I'd best get in somewhere quick, otherwise I would be on the streets

Hi Lady Maelin! Don't worry, I've been a D*C disaster area myself (maybe some would say I still am one?! )! If you're interested I "could" explain the reference to black holes in my signature. It looks like there's a fair bunch of us at the Hilton this year so I'm sure we'll be able to take care of each other! PM me if you want my cell phone number, that goes for KC as well. Oh, it's gonna be fun, I can tell! :bouncy: is it time yet, I can't wait!

Thanks 'Cilla I'll PM nearer to August. I hope to have a new mobile (cellphone) which I can use over the water by then, but even if I don't I could just use a public or hotel phone to get in touch.

OOOOOOO more friends!! :bouncy:
Lady Maelin!! how exciting!! Don't worry we'll be happy to have you to join us.
And as for cell phones ,we found that generally we tag teamed so as long as one of us had one we were good.
KC I always ended up being designated phone person since mine somehow always worked even in the cellar.

So tell all - what should I be buying? Pay as you go of course - a Yorkshire woman won't often pay for something she's not going to use ;)

Most recent phones will be dual or tri-band. I got mine from Tesco for around £60. It's an O2 X1b, but there are others around the same price with the same facilities.
